Does anybody get much use out of these? I had one for each country I visited back in 05 and they were alright but now with tripadvisor and millions of travel blogs, why bother? If the info were some sort of reliable insider's guide then sure… but anyone who has used one knows how unreliable these things are.

Yes. The ebooks are a handy source of information that does not need to be accessed via internet.

I traveled around Africa for 8 weeks and would read each country guide on the bus.

The last thing you want to be doing when you have internet is researching. This time can be better spent experiencing the country.

    • I bought the Japanese Phrasebook about 7 years ago and I've used it a lot. I borrowed some LP travel guides from the library before but I agree a lot of that information was more accurate and updated on tripadvisor.

  • Thanks for your post.
But I don't understand your offer.

Is your offer what I see when I click the 30% off on the LP homepage, or an additional discount?

  • OP is confusing. I applied the discount to the Vietname/Laos/Cambodia ebook/book bundle pre order and it comes to $21 shipping free. Thats all i know LOL.

  • Texas for $16.50, free postage. Cheaper than book depository. Thanks OP!

  • If anyone has some LP digital copies they would like to share please PM me. I have India, Sri Lanka & Pokhara (Nepal)

  • I tried both the Texas book & Vietnam bundle & both still said $6.90 shipping (tried a few postcodes too).
It appears to be only free shipping if over $60 - am I missing something?
