Awesome price for an awesome speaker. Limited stock according to page. <del>Black and White available.</del>

ONLY WHITE SPEAKERS LEFT! Link updated

$199 is the normal price for the inferior A2 (non "+" version) which does not have an in-built DAC and USB connectivity. There are probably more differences but I'm not sure off the top of my head.

  • This was this price in March. I know they're great speakers, but do you get the rumble of the bass with a 2.0 system?

    • Freq. response

      65Hz-22kHz ±2.0dB

that tells me you get no 'rumble'

      get a sub

      • How to connect sub if this goes straight to your PC?

        • Plug the sub to your PC directly, that way you can control this set of speakers and your sub from it.

        • +2

dont know why you were negged.. it's pretty hard when the speakers are self powered like these and dont have a line level out.. might have to buy a pre-amp. also selecting something that would mate well with them will be hard as these are tuned to not need them. i have speakers of a similar size and it's best to just be happy with what you get, if you really need the 20Hz rumble these arent for you.

        • @ProjectZero:

Does windows deal with running multiple outputs at the same time?

        • @LordRichington:

It's not dependent on Windows i believe… it should be dependent on your mobo.

If your mobo supports up to 7.1 or 5.1, there are multiple inputs on the back of the mobo.

        • @ProjectZero:

Ah, ok, you mean the analog outputs on the soundcard, bypassing the DAC in the A1

        • @peterpaoliello:

You can connect a sub via variable output.

          FROM AE site:

          Differences between A2+ discontinued A2
          USB digital-to-analog converter (DAC)
Variable audio output (connect a subwoofer or wirelessly send audio to other speakers with our optional W3 wireless adapter)
          Upgraded speaker connectors
Standard 1/4" threaded inserts for wall mounts
          Upgraded power supply
          Upgraded accessory cables

        • @LordRichington:

Hmmm, good point, if you connect this via USB, i wouldn't have a clue if it can be used with a sub.

        • It has a RCA out on the left speaker

    • Wasn't the same in March they were running out the 2.0, this is the 2+ model which has USB input.

Thanks! have been waiting for this deal - reserved one for pick-up and pay in store.

  • Spend a couple hundred more for 5 inch woofers.

  • Thanks OP - missed last time, so got a pair this time.

  • $22 delivery to Sydney. Hmmm. Wish i could walk in and pickup…argh

Feel like buying these to upgrade the terrible, terrible sound from my Kogan TV.

  • if i hadn't bought the Voll speakers I'd certainly have shelled out on these

  • These or M-Audio AV 40s or Swan M10 decisions decisions…

    • buy all three!

    • I have swan M10s. Theyre freaking awesome and look so nice. Get the swans!

      • Most likely going to go with the Swan D1080-IV!

        • Just to update - bought these from myAV - $240 including postage.

Such excitement! I'm not following this thread so if someone in the future is interested just PM me.

  • Harmon Kardon Sound Sticks 3 or these? I do listen to alot of bass but like crispy sound aswell

    • As already stated, these will give nice mids and highs, but there will not be much bass. Both speakers are well suited for music that doesn't focus on bass.

      • Thanks for the response. Seeing as nearly everything I listen to is bass/dubstep/hip hop. I might go the Sound Sticks 3 :)

  • Microlab Solo 6C (or 7C) are pretty badass for less than this price.

They also have the 4C and 5C would be suited to smaller desks though.

    • I have been after these speakers, do you know of a shop that has these is stock?

  • Expired?

  • If nothing else, they're pretty sexy speaks.

  • Dagnabbit. Got the email too late, missed these again!

  • iv got the A2, they are awsome! i use the asus xoner STX card, its bloody brilliant, though im thinking of going for the A5's or the swan MKIII , something around the $500 range now.
