  • I guess people will know how good your business is (or isn't) once they have ordered and received (or not recieved) their purchases. Your company have offered a few free postage items so far, but nobody has replied stating they have received them (it was only in the last 1 or 2 days so understandable).

People should be aware of what you have replied to about (http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/15231):

    scotty on 06/08/2009 - 13:20

Before promoting this retailer any further, you might wish to check out my comment on the other post regarding its eBay activities."

and the reply was: BestBuyTek on 06/08/2009 - 13:32

Well, that’s correct however what has happened on eBay is totally different and this is now running under a new operation and we guarrantee people good service, I am sure people know all the new seller issues on ebay particularly when people bid, buy and not pay then give negatives it made lots of seller deviate completely from eBay. I will also assure that your experience with best buy tek will be nothing but positives and I thank all people that made positive remarks unlike other stores we have a phone number and we reply to our emails promptly and will make it clear that we have no affiliation with Fluidtek or Shopping Square.

Lets see how people besides Freakovit or impulsive2009 respond to your offers.

Maybe your company will be good, its unknown yet.

    • True.

    $1 (at 6.55am 8/8/09), for a 15” LCD photoframe…..blimey, that’s cheap (cough cough)"

"… please keep an eye out on the web site as tomorrow will be another great bargain that I would imagine most of you would hate to miss!", that's today now, care to comment BestBuyTek if that is a VALID OFFER on your website or is just another mistake (you have stated your site ISN'T in test mode now), so is it a fair dinkum offer or not?

    • I've just checked your site and now its $150.00, so can the prices on your website be trusted or is this another non test mode problem?

    • Firstly I was referring to the Top portion of the web site where we have our Hot Picks of the day and that was the 1TB Samsung HDD and now it is the 1TB Seagate HDD however if you saw something else ont he web site and though it was a bargain then fine, but let me just say that these are all controlled by an automated system sort of a banner cycle so some minutes you will see a bargain and the next min sold out like the Samsungs this morning in less than 2 hours were all finished.

  • Normally I would have though this was a good deal (contentious reputation of Bestbuytek.com.au aside of course), except I've just had a Samsung drive - much less that 2 years old - cause much wailing, gnashing of teeth, tearing of hair and all round & profound unhappiness.

I'm not sure I'd ever consider buying another one of the little f******s..

  • We are running out of this 1TB Samsung HDD as I mentioned earlier limited time and Limited Stock.
be-hold there is another hot deal coming up shortly after.

    • BestBuyTek you have added comments to this post but not answered about the $1 item (which was before your most recent comment), no response? Is this how you treat potential customers, with lack of communication?

      • Once again and posted on top:
Firstly I was referring to the Top portion of the web site where we have our Hot Picks of the day and that was the 1TB Samsung HDD and now it is the 1TB Seagate HDD however if you saw something else ont he web site and though it was a bargain then fine, but let me just say that these are all controlled by an automated system sort of a banner cycle so some minutes you will see a bargain and the next min sold out like the Samsungs this morning in less than 2 hours were all finished.

it looks to me that you have missed out on one of today's special's because when the sale is over the item comes back to it original advertised price as well as postage will be applied to it or showing "sorry this item is currently out of stock" meanning sold out, maybe not so much of a good taste on the web site to your standards but let me tell you it is the deals and the bargains taste that proves the point.

  • Sorry People was just serving some customers here at our shop, the Samsungs have just ran out in less than 2 hours and we have now the SEAGATE 1TB 7200RPM in stock for $115.00 with FREE Delivery Australia Wide again:
    *limited stock and
    *limited time

I manage to get Samsung drive. I guess it's just going to be wait and see whether BestBuyTek are actually looking after their customer and great shop or not.
In the mean time, I give them a benefit of the doubt and vote positive for this deal. It is a good deal indeed.

BestBuyTek, please take care of my drive during shipping. Please remember that HDD are a very sensitive devices, so please put it in their original clamshell plastic packaging where it comes from, put it in antistatic bag, and give a lot of bubblewrap and padding before posting it. I don't want to RMA the drive due to the unadequate packing protection and rough shipping. Thank you :)

    Hi BestBuyTek
Can you please offer a HDMI HDD media player (built-in with HDD would be great) in any forthcoming date?

Please let us know before you offer!
    Keep up the good work!
    Cheers

We might be considering to have a bunde like that later on but unsure when exactly

      • +1

will that be $1 like your lcd picture frame was……briefly?
Do we need to check the price a couple of times (best of 3 perhaps)?
Will we be able to get past the
"www.bestbuytek.com uses an invalid security certificate.
The certificate is not trusted because the issuer certificate is unknown."…..(only thing that stopped me buying a $1 lcd picture frame).

  • It is funny how all the people that made a purchase didn't get errors like you did otherwise they wouldn't have been able to purchase themselves the SSL certificate is there and setup

    • Not all browsers actually check to see if a certificate is correct (and even then some people have different settings and plugins which effect the checking), that's why it may work for some and not for others.

    • +1

I can over-ride the settings, and make an exception to enable me to visit the "secure" side of your site……….but I'm not sure I would want to do that. Call it paranoid, but 99.9% of other sites I visit do not give me such an error. Why would I take a risk?

Free shipping not coming up on site? Also dodgy security certificate on the website

      not just me then……

You need to tidy things up if you want my business….

    • Something isn't right somewhere as more then one person is having a problem with secure connections at your site. Yes it has worked for some but that doesn't mean its all OK. Of cause it worked for the people who did make a purchase but it has stopped others. If you don't care then I am sure potential customers wont be customers at all as the site appears non secure so people have even less reason to trust your site.

Even bigger companies have problems, see http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/15234#comment-85838:

Hello- the site is secure, but we’re in the process of fixing the certificate issue that appears in some browsers. Thanks to all for pointing this out - we’re onto it.

      Speak soon,

      Gerd"

      • Issue is clear and point has been made. There appears to be nothing to be gained from further comments.

  • This Connection is Untrusted

You have asked Firefox to connect
securely to www.bestbuytek.com, but we can't confirm that your connection is secure.

Normally, when you try to connect securely,
sites will present trusted identification to prove that you are
going to the right place. However, this site's identity can't be verified.

    What Should I Do?

    If you usually connect to
this site without problems, this error could mean that someone is
trying to impersonate the site, and you shouldn't continue.

That's what i get when i try to use the secure section of your site.

  • Looks like I missed out on the 1TB Samsung HDD at this very good price as I have checked other prices and they were higher than this price so I went and bought the Seagate for $115.00 free delivered (didn't bother to drive today) + I also bought Welland Dock Station for $34.95 also FREE delivery, however on Explorer there were no errors during the process and it was showing SSL on the URL I guess different browsers can do different things, that's computers for you

  • Hi, best buy do you do pickups?

    • Yes, its a shop, so should allow pickup, they did allow it with a different offer.
