Playstation 4 from Dick Smith - $399.20 after 20% off

PlayStation 4 from The Gamesmen $396 after 20% off

XboxOne 500GB TitanFall Console Bundle - $478.40 + $5 shipping after 20% off

Nexus 5 (16GB, Black) $320 iPad Air 16GB Celluar $540.8 Shipped and etc

Since Video Games and Consoles are mentioned, I think PS4 and Xbox One are included. However I am not 100% sure.

Eg) PS4 @ Dick Smiths is $485 at the moment, but after the 20% discount it should be $388
http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Sony-Playstation-4-Console-/25156…

Update 1 : As many of you already predicted, Dick Smiths actually raised prices, so now PS4 is $503.95($499+$4.95 for shipping) and Xbox One(XboxOne 500GB TitanFall Console Bundle) is $602.95.

After the 20% discount(it applies to the shipping fee as well), PS4 should be $403.16 and Xbox One(XboxOne 500GB TitanFall Console Bundle) should be $482.36.

Xbox One(XboxOne 500GB TitanFall Console Bundle)
http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/XboxOne-500GB-TitanFall-Console-B…

Update 2 : You might want to check out Kogan Ebay store. They are selling phones & tablets(including iphones and Galaxy S5) under Toy section, so the 20% discount should be applied to those phones & tablets. Plus, it seems like Kogan listed Xbox One on their store as well, but it is same price as what DSE is selling at the moment($498, after the discout $398.4 thanks arena sales).

Update 3 : By the way, I would recommend you guys to keep your eyes on Ebay Group deal. If my memory serves me right, last time Apple MacBook Air 11" 128GB was only $500 after the 20% discount. Hopefully, some similar deals are available on 21/07/2014

http://groupbuy.ebay.com.au/

Update 4 : Many mobile phones, talbets and consoles that are sold by Kogan are no longer listed under the "toy" section. Make sure what you are purchasing is under the right category, so the discount can be applied.

Update 5 : Apparently PS4 is "sold out" @ DSE, just a day before, the deal starts.

Update 6 : PS4 is back on DSE ebay store @ $499(thanks kamoi) which should be $400-ish after the 20$ discount. However it says "Limited quantity remaining"

http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Sony-Playstation-4-Console-/25156…

Update 7 : Sony Xperia Z, Z1, Z2and compact are still under Toy section(thanks grab_ur_freebies)

http://www.ebay.com.au/sch/i.html?_odkw=&_osacat=220&_trksid…

Udpate 8 : Some ipad are still under Toy section(thanks andri77), including ipad mini with retina 16GB white which should be $352 (after disc)

http://www.ebay.com.au/sch/i.html?_odkw=iphone+5s&LH_BIN=1&_…

Update 9 : Some Samsung smartphones(including Galaxy S5) are still listed under the toy section.

http://www.ebay.com.au/sch/Other-/1039/i.html?_from=R40&_nkw…

However, I can not confirm the 20% discount can be applied to those smartphones, tablets and consoles that are sold by Kogan

      • Is that the F710?

        • Yep that's the one. They are around $30ish and work and feel great.

    • +1 for PC Gaming. Graphics so much better than consoles if you have a decent card. I use a wireless xbox controller and it works perfectly.

    • It's a shame Microsoft don't seem to be releasing a wireless dongle for the Xbox One controller.

    • I am looking for the same but the controllers i found were listed in PC peripherals. Can u please link here if you found the item? Much appreciated.
PS: XBox 360 wireless controller for PC is for$49.99 at EB Games.

  • Someone want to speculate for me on whether a PS4 at the suggested price of $388 will be cheaper than prices around Christmas time? Ta. :)

    • +2

      sure..

      No.. wait.. yes

    • +5

They will be higher at Christmas 2014 - trust me, I've just come back from the future in my DeLorean!

      • It will be cheaper in the new year though

    • +5

The PS3 will not be $388 as the $485 price tag will end today as stated on the actual Dick Smith website. It will most like rise back to $548 by the time the deal is on.

And yes you should get one now.

      • +2

        PS4 right?

        • +1

Oh yeah my bad. lol. PS4!

      • +1

If my maths is correct, wouldn't it be cheaper to get it with the discount even with the price increase? :o

      • +1

20% of 548 is 109.60 so even at full price it will be cheaper ($438.40) if you just wait.. Or am I missing something?

  • I wonder how many if the $179 Wii u console listings bought from Kmart are going to go up 20% in the next couple of days.

Hopefully RC cars are covered with the coupon!

  • cant wait

I reckon it's hard to define "Toy". To me, as an adult male, my toys are mobile phones, tablets, laptops, cameras and cars.
In fact, I've been looking around for deals to upgrade my camera. 20% off them would be nice!

    • -4

Yea its hard to define toy.
I wonder if they are including "Adult Toys" in this sale!

    • +4

It's not that hard, they just limit it to categories:

items listed in the following categories on eBay.com.au: Toys & Hobbies, Video Games & Consoles, Toys 0-12 months (in Baby), Children’s Books (in Books, Magazines), Toys (in Collectables) and Dolls, Bears

There's not some guy working on Sunday watching every eBay transaction and assessing if it's a toy or not.

  • +4

    Zomg wtf bbq

  • +2

So this isn't store related and you can get 20% off a private auction selling a used PS4?

    • Indeed. It needs to end within that 10am-midnight slot though. How much are used PS4s going for?

      • +1

About 15-18% more now for those finishing in that timeslot :)

  • +2

Is this for eBay auctions as well or only eBay stores?

  • +3

It'll be interesting to see how many "non-toys" are going to be listed in one of the discounted categories for this Sunday…

    • +6

      • thx buddy gonna pickup 3d super mario world…do i need to wait till next week for the toy sale?

        • Yeah, it starts on Wednesday, didn't read the fine print aha.

  • Question: What happens if your PS4 (bought from DSE ebay) dies while under 1 year warranty? Can you take it to any Dick Smith store for replacement with your ebay receipt or do you have to go through Sony? Has anyone had this issue in the past?

    • +2

Yes, back to a DS store. I've returned an online purchase before and they accepted it no problems.

      • Thanks. This is what I wanted to hear.

    • Pretty sure Dick Smith will sort it out with Sony on your behalf.

      • Good old willy Smith

      • They're required to by law. It's not because Dick is being a 'good guy'.

  • so basically you can't buy NOW and pay later……?

  • -4

How come PS3 is still over 200? thought will be 100 or sth…

  • I really hope the PS4s do come down to $388. I'd be happy buying 1 at the $400-420 mark but the lower the better.

    • Problem is that Sony then slug it back with the $70 annual fee for multiplayer whether you want free PSA games or not.

I'd be all over it if they stuck with the ps3 model where multiplayer was free.

      • Yeah I know :/ I'm really annoyed Sony chose that route, I much rather they kept PS+ optional, or instead with PS4 used the same cheap servers they did for PS3 and then for PS+ owners they put them on the better servers so it's win win in a way. Fortunately I'm more of a single player gamer & if I feel like playing MP I'll probably just pay for 1 month if they allow it, since I wouldn't play the same MP game for a year, stuff like Destiny or The Division I'd get bored of after a month or 2. I primarily blame Microsoft for it, Xbox Live was successful in the eyes of the industry and now Sony want to do the samething. I really just want to grab 1 now as cheap as possible at $400 or less cause I've been craving a PS4 since day 1. I might even boycott this sale because I'd prefer buying in store but I doubt I'd get an instore price at <$480 anytime soon. lol

        • Indeed.

I just want to play BF4 casually online with some mates maybe on the weekends. I dont care for PSN games. For that "privilege" its $70/year, on top of the $60+ for the game. Whereas on PC and PS3, MP is free the way it should be.

Especially for BF4 where essentially the main game is the MP component and it just feels like I'm being double slugged and given "games" I don't want or need.

        • Exactly that's why I'm so against pay to play MMOs as well. Even if you paid only for the month, there's no guarantee you'll actually play the entire month or even get your monies worth, if you only play for about 2 days or even about 7 days in the entire month it's a waste. Some people would say the free PS+ games make up for it, but 95% of them are games I've already played and traded in months or years prior, the other 5% are usually not worth playing. Gaming is starting to become a utility much like Internet and Phone bills instead of R&R and entertainment.

I'm hoping that developers do what they did with MP games on Xbox at least and that's give you the freebie 1 month xbox live trials, some games even gave you 3 months. I'd imagine they'd do something like that with Sony games too, they'd have to, becuase no one's going to buy PS+ just to test out the MP in a game. I also just realised I won't be able to play Destiny or even The Division solo since they'll require always online and thus PS+. I guess the upside is I save $200 from not buying those games.

  • I have been looking at treadmills and have found some under Toys…will they accept it?

    • +2

Only if you want a tiny one for a mouse cage.

  • How will ebay know what items are gaming/toys and what items aren't? Does the seller have to put a flag, or will ebay have to manually check each one?

I want some memory cards, gaming headset, and controllers. I have no idea if any of these will even qualify.

    • It will be based on the categories the items are listed in.

    • +2

Items listed in the Toys & Hobbies, Video Games & Consoles, Toys 0-12 months (in Baby), Children’s Books (in Books, Magazines), Toys (in Collectables) and Dolls, Bears categories.

If someone listed a memory card in say the Video Games & Consoles category, then you could still get the discount.

      • "In Theory" could i list "an item" under video games that "my friend" happens to buy, he pays me for it less the 20%, I pocket the full amount and pay him back the less 20% amount and pocket the difference, my calcs this is around $10 free money (after fees etc).

        Is this plan fool proof?

        • lol all that effort for $10. gg.

        • +2

welcome to Ozbargain - the land where it's all about the bargain - whatever the cost

        • or to save time and effort you could list and buy for 1k (to maximise the $200 discount) and get "free" $96.50 after fees etc for one listing

      • -1

What if someone "accidentally" lists something not toy or gaming related in that category?

  • Items from international sellers but found on ebay.com.au should be included?

  • +1

Should include board games right? Thinking of getting Settlers of Catan. Anyone know what is the cheapest you can get outside of Ebay?

  • +1

Hang on, the deal page says 'hand picked' items. Its not as if you can just buy ANYTHING on ebay for 20% off right?

    • Where does it say 'hand picked'?

      • "DISCOVER 1000's OF DEALS, HAND-PICKED BY EBAY"
Is this relevant to this deal?
That's one of the 'big sunday' details.

      • The deal link says: On eBay, Sundays are a big dealFrom 10am to midnight AEST you'll see why. Find a big range of new & used items, handpicked & on sale. Make space in your schedule for Big Sundays.

        • That could also mean it's just that there will be handpicked items on sale as part of the deal no?

    • +1

Upvoted for "oh crap" moment… :/

    • I really hope that just implies that there will be a range of handpicked items on sale as part of the event.

      • +6

My nose is handpicked but that doesnt mean its on sale

  • +1
    • 89 sold??
      wow

    • Yeah … Im watching the retro stuff too :)

      • +1

damn.. I need to get all my retro stuff out of storage and list it. like my ZZap!64 magazine collection and sticking it on ebay then.. higher chance I'll sell the 87 or so issues I have as a lump sum :)

    • Seems expensive. Why don't you just get a PSP and install an emulator? Then you'd have every ROM in one mem card and pixel perfect mapping.

Assuming you are serious of course.

      • +1

Emulation is not the same. There is just something about having the actual hardware in front of you. Really brings back the memories :)

You are right though, it does seem a bit expensive especially considering you can pick these up from the markets at $5-30 with games included. Sure they have spent some time and money on modding it, but a switch, RCA connectors, some wire and the hour of work put into the modding is hardly worth an extra ~$200.

I modded my console many years ago back when Dick Smith still used to sell electronic components and all the needed parts set me back about $7. It took roughly 1.5 hours to do the mods using a guide a found online, though I imagine that time would easily be cut down in half if I knew what I was doing and didn't have to refer to the guide constantly.

        • That's it right there! Emulation is just not the same really. Yes, I do get nostalgia from emulation and it's really convenient but for me it's nothing like experiencing it as you did back then; holding the box with it's cover art, the cartridge, the actual controller etc. It's got more soul that way… the full nostalgia! :)

I like the idea of this modified unit. It looks clean and done professionally with good parts and cables to go… seems to bring out the best from the console. Now, if I added a whole collection of games and some other stuff to reach $200 off; the unit does end up coming free. Don't forget to 'Best Offer' either :)

    • HOLY MOLY I used to have one of those when I was kid (with the built in Alex Kidd in Miracle World). I love that these consoles listed have been modded with RCA jacks, as the original ones had a RF adapter (remember those, kiddies?).

      • The original Master System actually had an AV port. Just needed to buy a cable to hook it up to the TV.

SMS2 is just a remodeled and cut down version where they removed the AV and game card ports.

  • Trampolines part of the deal?

    • +5

Maybe, just make sure your payment doesn't bounce

      • hahahah

  • +1

Perfect time to sell all my old gaming gear and buy some PS4 games and accessories! Cheers OP :)
