    these are the best…the only individually switched outlets without those stupid red light i have ever found.

    • i have a couple around the house as well, seem much better made than the cheap non switched boards as well.

    • The HPM for $13 at Bunnings is the best non sale value I've found.

      Given past failures of Arlec products I have had (door chime, sensor light, timer) I don't have that much confidence in their products :(

  • Very good price if available. Online price is still $18.43 for Brisbane metro area.

      Yeah that's a pretty good deal too. Will have to try and remember when I'm there next to get some. I'm always looking for switchable ones. Looks like a newer and perhaps cheaper model?

      The surge protection is minimal at best BTW.

    • I have these and they are great ! Best regular deal in Oz.

    • Not the same…being a tight arse (no relation to the ozbarginer) I can't stand those red and green lights, waste of energy lol

      • I bet you waste much more energy elsewhere. An LED is around 10-20 mW.

          Also, leaving appliances in standby uses more energy than the red light does, AND you wear out your transformer (power supply), reducing the life of your unit.

          True ozBargainers use the switches ;)

          I bought an 8 port individually switchable outlet board at cheap as chips (shintaro?? brand). The sockets are too loose, so avoid that one. It was about $12 at the time.

          @DeWalt:
          Well wear and tear on transformer will be negligible at worst. Definitely standby will be at least an order or magnitude higher in the 100mW - 1W range for modern gear. Older stuff can be particularly bad for standby consumption though.
