Weblock - Adblock for iOS Free (Was $2.49)

1510

Maybe don't block OzBargains but this is a great app.
Weblock allows you to block online content. It can block ads (banners and popups in other apps and websites), statistics, user tracking, scripts or images. It also allows you to block specific websites, like Facebook, Twitter, Google+, social widgets from websites or get rid of annoying Tapatalk popups. You can even define your own content filters. Using Weblock you can block basically any network resource!

Excellent app. Got it last time. Actually blocks content and doesn't appear to effect performance negatively. Currently there is an issue with it not blocking Youtube ads, but the devs are apparently aware of it and a fix is inbound.

Just tried and works fantastic :) Puts the adblock available on Cydia to shame because it works so much better :D (and it's free!)

  • Thanks luke. Great app.

  • doesnt work with iOS 7.1.2 when the url is copied and being pasted into the Auto Profile of the wifi it doesnt apply and u get ads

    • +2

It's working for me, and I'm on 7.1.2

    • Have you actually enabled the filtering & customised it?

Also any previously opened apps need to be closed & reopened for it to work

      • I've been using this long back from 5 months when it was free on Appsgonefree app, also i Had customised before but the the URL it gives u is not being applied in the Wifi auto proxy section.

As soon as i go back start the app i get ads, when i go back to my wifi settings where the URL was pasted i find it blank previously i used to see that URL there.

Dont know what's wrong have to figure out with their support may be

But thanks for your replies guys….

If you have root, I would strongly suggest AdAway OVER Adblock Plus.

        • adaway never worked for me. tried it a few times with a rooted phone. Plus it always just kept wanting to update scripts daily.

        • Adfree is the best on android, no resource hog, no need to worry content gone to proxy. Requires root also

        • +1

          Requires root also

You're worried about adblock using a localhost proxy but not that adfree also requires root? Silly logic.

I wonder if this works with redtube. LOL :P

  • No more ads, thank you thank you thank you :)

    Thanks,

I need this for work - brownie points ahoy!

This works, but it's just a web proxy unfortunately. I guess it was the only way they could get it to work. Don't really like all my web browsing going through a third party proxy who can monitor your use, and sell it off to other places for profit.

  • Thanks,nice one.

  • Hello,

Any know how to make this app unblock videos from foxsports?

I have to disable the app everytime I want to watch their videos.

    Thanks.
