  • I would expect similar deals from other capitals as the travel expo heads into your town.

    • Well it ain't $999! Normally a sale fare to LA is around $1300-1500 or something.

        Well it ain't $999!

        It was $839 recently…

Don't confuse LAX direct with Qantas with anything going via K1W1….!

        • @cornucopia:

          Don't confuse LAX direct

This is Ozbargain… $160 buys you a lot of toothpaste squeezers…

That's Air New Zealand, not QF. It's like saying Coca Cola is on sale and comparing it to AC Cola!

Also this will be an A380 direct flight between Sydney and LA. A380 is beautiful. Actually maybe 747 also. Kinda beautiful.

4 months ago isnt "recently" and the flight dates were for an earlier time.

That's Air New Zealand, not QF

It appears it's been a while since you last flew Qantas internationally…

          @clarky:
Yep, Qantas' A380 is absolutely sublime. By far the best product on the AUS/USA routes. Though I have to admit Air NZ aren't too bad either if the stopover doesn't bother you/ they have a really good deal.

        • +1

@clarky: Im booked on A380 both ways

        • @ma77: nice! Very nice!

        • @jv: Can't say Air NZ product is bad (other than the safety videos which use to be funny) but I'd rather a QF A380 the whole way, much larger space. I fly QF international a fair amount as other airlines. The aircraft interiors are getting better, the A380 and newer config B747s are nice. But yes I wouldnt want to be on an old B747!

    • I have paid anywhere from $1200-$2500 for that leg.
Depends on the time of the year.
Just after the GFC really kicked in a friend got returns for about $850.

This is a really good price for LAX return if the dates work for you.

  • I forgot about this. Is there a site with all the deals? I am interested in traveling to Mexico!

Is there a site with all the deals?

      Here

That question made me laugh lol. That's like asking your wife for your mistress's number

  • According to the flyer handed out regular is $1235.
these deals were at the expo, I only saw QF offering SYD LAX

    • Even $1235 is pretty great, usual sale price seems to be ~$1450 with Qantas.

I book thru Flight Centre regularly and they are generally happy to waive the credit card (excluding amex and diner) surchage.

But does LAX have a BURGER KING?

    • +9

The only burger chain that's worth going in LA is In-N-Out.

    • +9

Why go to a Burger King when you can hit up In-N-Out. There's even a FREE shuttle from the airport!!

      • Nice, will keep that in mind next time I go LA :)

    • but is there an In-N-Out at LAX?

      • +2

It's right next to the airport under the flight path.
        Check out this photo

Looks like that plane has made many visits to In-N-Out…

        • nice

      • No, I looked a few months back, couldn't find one in the terminal I was in,

    • +4

Burger King is in LAX terminal 3. Doesn't look as good for sleeping as PVG but they do have free wifi.

  • Yeah if you go to LAX you wouldn't be eating similar crap you get here, go to In-N-Out

Check the Ozbargain Forums then you'll get it.

I'm waiting for the Travel Expo to come to Brisbane. Did you see any deals for South America at all?

    • Book now! LAN and Qantas are doing BNE-SCL for $1399 return - travel period extends into next year also

  • Nice. Thanks.

  • Great find

  • Can booking be done online?
I am looking at http://www.flightcentre.com.au/flights/los-angeles/sydney but it is showing $1078

  • I am guessing you have to call to get this deal? It would help if the OP put in directions on how to actually obtain this price.

    • Please see your flight Centre consultant for details on applicable fares

That said, good luck finding a consultant before midnight. Expired?

All new bookings and enquiries 133 133 24 hours a day, 365 days a year

Can anyone confirm if you can make a booking via the phone 24 hours a day?
I don't want to waste cents on a phone call…

      • It also appears that consultants may charge additional fees as well.

    • They have 24x7 call centre
