Arrggghh! Bought an SD card only this morning from Amazon. I guess I saved $1.70 or so but would rather have got it from SE. This is only a couple weeks after I bought an SSD just before these guys had a sale.

FML, & sorry about the boring story. Decent deal regardless.

    • I believe Amazon allow you can to cancel if it hasn't already shipped.

Thanks for the tip - I cancelled the Amazon order. However, turns out Shopping Express don't even have it in stock! WTF. Hopefully they just have made a mistake, because I doubt it's a bait'n'switch…

      • how about 1 upping the competition? that could tip me over to buy :) $120??

        • Note that the free shipping here (it's not free for the other deal) means SE has already one-upped them.

Both offer free shipping. What SE has going for them is that there is no PayPal/Credit Card surcharges.

But Scorptech is a much cooler name

  • Anyone know if one of those Sandisk Ultra 16GB/32GB USB 2.0 flash drives would work with a Wii U?

    • +1

I know they don't recommend using them, but I am using the Sandisk Extreme 32GB on a WII U without any problem. SE promotion on the extreme is only for the 16GB and 64GB.

I can't see why the ultra wouldn't work.

      • Thanks for info. Since Wii U is usb 2 only, the Extreme wouldn't really offer any better performance than the Ultra would it?

        • Probably not, it was the largest I had that wasn't being used :)

        • I don't want to sound like the "Devils Advocate" here, but for a strange model naming confusion, there are big speed differences between the Sandisk Ultra 8/16//64 all with the red slider button, compared to the 32gb version with black button, which is usb3 and speeds up to 80MB/s compared to 15MB/s, and usb2 for the others. At a guess, I would say that they are replacing one range with the other, not sure which way around though. Also, a lot of slow to medium speed usb2 thumb drives do not saturate the full potential of usb2 port, hence you need a faster usb2 or 3 to get the most out of your usb2 port speed wise. Of course, the Sandisk Extreme range is even faster, even double but a lot more expensive. Maybe that is why the Extreme and possibly the 32GB ( fast ) Ultra works/might work in the WII U. The bad news is that this 32GB Ultra is sold out @ SE, good news if your near a MSY store, they have them for $21. Hoop this helps.

  • 64gb micro SD all gone?

  • Been considering SSD's for the missus' laptop - nice timing! :-)

  • I am looking at getting the 240GB SanDisk Extreme II but would also like to upgrade my memory, I don' t suppose there is a deal to be had on the Corsair Vengeance Low Profile 8GB DDR3 Dual Channel Memory Kit?

    Thanks!

    • Hi Redfall,

We currently dont have the Corsair Vengeance in stock so I can't do any deal on it :(.

      Cheers
      SE

      • Thanks, just ordered the SSD anyway.

hmmm, delivery via a completely unreliable courier, or local pickup from Scorptec?

    Such an easy decision.

SE, stop using Couriers Please and just default to standard AustPost parcel delivery, and you will get a lot more return customers.
