I've had some of these from pinch me and personally I think they're crap. They turned grey in with a load of whites (that are still very white and they've been washed many times without these). Also the whole idea of a sheet stopping clothing from absorbing colours by absorbing it itself just doesn't make sense, it's not like they magically draw the colours from the clothing before it can but anything else.

Just my 2cents and free is free but I still think they're worthless.

Maybe they release a little bit of a chemical which temporarily "fixes" the dyes, and stops them from leaching out of the clothes?

Aren't there other more-permanent ways to stop colours running? I've heard of soaking affected clothes in a salt water solution, and similar.

    • Why are you putting 'colour catchers' in with a load of whites?

They went grey with a load of colours so I figured I'd see if they went grey without any dye and they did. Why would it change colour without any colour having touched it unless they are made to, to give the person using them the impression of them working?

        • love it!

    Cheers.

  • Can't open it !

  • I have to disagree with the other posters - these things are great. I have a lot of stripes and brights and the colours used to run a fair bit, but since I've started using them, I've had no issues, and you can just keep reusing them until they go dark grey (which is every two weeks or so for me). Be careful they don't get stuck in your filter, though!

  • Don't bother they terrible doesn't work at all waste of time

  • Who separates laundry!? Well, apart from sheets first load, towels second, clothes third. ;-)
