I wanna reach out and grab ya..

      • No Steve Miller Band fans here then?

        • +2

Nope, just Bieber fans I'm afraid…

        • @StewBalls: Didn't you hear? Everyone is now a Bloom fan after he sang out, "I wanna reach out and grab ya".

If eBay don't have the servers to cope, no one will.

      • I wonder which websites have uncrashable servers?

        yahoo.co.jp, amazon, ebay

      • +1

        "SYSTEM IS TEMPORARILY UNAVAILABLE"

  • cheers i might get the $500 S5

    • +13

      Yeah, you might…

      If you're lucky!

    • +2

Pay attention if it supports aus lte.

    • +2

Good price for the s5. That said, at the end of the day you're still paying $500 for a phone when you can get a basic android for $100 that does 95% of what the s5 does.

I think I remember seeing a 4 inch dual core Sony locked to Optus for $99. Might be wrong though (not in the market for a new phone, so not really paying much attention)

      • +1

or could have compromised and got a LG G pro 2 for $350 that does 99.9% what the S5 does and also does 50% more things the S5 doesn't.

        • +5

Got my lg pro 2 and loving it at the moment. Also sorry but saying a $100 phone does 95% of what s5 does might be correct in theory but it will not do them anywhere near as well.

        • +1

@Dany34: Heh yeah it might be correct but it's the %5 that actually matters that you're missing out on.

        • Looks like a good phone, but closer to $400 for most sellers. Also only has the 900 MHz 3G band and missing the 850 MHz for Telstra Next G and Voda rural/regional areas where there is still mostly no 4G, sometimes not even 3G. For the other 16 million +- Aussies, well priced large smartphone with great specs.

        • @ozhunter68: Yeah, that's the one downside I didn't see when I bought the LG G Pro 2 for the other half. She was on Vodafone, but she ported out to Optus because of the fact it's only got two 3G bands - 900Mhz and 2100Mhz, which are the bands Optus use for 3G. I wouldn't suggest buying this phone if you aren't going to use Optus.

        • +1

anyone able to confirm if the LG G pro 2 works fine for LTE/4G in Australia? Not fully sure since its grey stock

        • care to share where is 350? i can't find it for less than about 400?

      • +3

95%, camera shit, screen shit, ram shit, android version shit, nfc nope, 4g nope, wifi slow,

  • Depending on the s5 being 32 or 16, and it's colour, it could be a meh price. Kogan has it for 599.

    • +3

it says it's the 16GB model - though the real question is whether it's the 4G model or the octa-core 3G model.

      • +4

Oops, my bad. If it is a 3g model, then it is totally not worth 500. might as well get Nexus 4

        • +10

          u meant nexus 5?

        • From eBay's fb reply: its the Samsung Galaxy S5 4G LTE SM-G900 (16GB, Black)

        • If you wanted, what's wrong with getting a Nexus 4 for +- $300 new, or a lot less second hand? Still a great phone, running KitKat 4.4.4 now and rumored to get the next big Android L update hopefully together with the Nexus 7 ( 2012 ) as well.

Ebay answered here saying the retailer is Kogan for that product, so likely that the phone might be the same.

Wonder what TV is on sale? and for how much?

    • +4

Looks like it is likely this 32" one

I'd expect the price to be a lot better tomorrow given that the RRP is $549

      • +2

Lol. Do you think they'll sell all 3 in 5 mins?

      • Thanks. Was hoping it was 50" or 42"

        • +1

LG 32LB5610 32" is OK as a PC monitor ( typing this reply using it right now) annoying to get right and still not as good as a Dell IPS 27" PC monitor

Had to go through so many settings and Adjust windows ClearType text to make it livable..

1080p at 32" just isn't that great for text… paid $399 free delivery from oo.com.au on the sale they had

    Impulse buying at it's finest.

    • +3

Exactly, that's what it is all about this 5 minute so called sales

      • How is it an impulse buy if you're discussing it a day before it happens?

  • +1

Hopeful for MBA for $500 again :D

    • Missed the first one, have been waiting for its return!

    • @abc Wishful thinking, told you to buy it.. but you didn't :)

      • Agree about the MBA. That was a rare sale. Ebay possibly prepared to lose profit margins that day for the sake of getting their share market stocks up. I wish I had a spare lazy $500 laying around to spend that day, and dipping my toes in the Mac Computer ecosystem, for a fun new learning experience. Probably have to go second hand now.

  • -5

This is a catch of the day type spam deal. They have advertised one deal (limited details) with no idea at what time it's 5 min deal will be active.

      • +3

        Your neg shield is down!

        • Nah it's still up, been a while since I've copped it good lol

  • +6

The same deal was removed by a mod. Don't know why it's not removed yet.

    • -1

there are details in this post.

      • +4

I posted this deal earlier as a forum post since details of the deal have not yet been disclosed such as the amount of S5s or the model for sale.

  • here's a question about ebay checkout, seeing as the deal lasts only 5 mins what are people doing, adding item to cart at full price then when the time comes hit checkout? will the order have the full price or the lower price?

    • You probably wouldn't have time to commit to the checkout. You best bet would be to buy it now and commit to purchase. If you added to cart beforehand, then the price may not update or you may miss out on the deal.

  • +1

please have a deal on computer monitors :DDD

  • -5

How hard are they screwing sellers to deliver low prices?

    • +4

I think they subsidise the lower prices from sellers.

      • +1

if they have the LG pro 2 on sale again then will def want to buy another one of those.

        • What about the LG G2? isnt that on par with the pro 2, smaller screen yes, but better proc and better pocket and hand value.

        • +1

          @markryan1971:

LG G2 uses same processor, lacks sd card slot. I think the Pro 2 is better, but I haven't really looked into it.

        • @Ronnnie:

          +1 G pro 2 has a larger screen

    • +1

      Not at all.

Do you really think Ebay could compel Kogan to flog all that Apple gear at a loss? I'm the last one to defend their heinous sellers fees but they're eating a big loss on these Sunday deals

      • So you think they're (perhaps planning on) losing money by doing this? Strange way to run a for profit business matey.

        • Take the '20% off toys' deal for instance. With tens of thousands of sellers it's not like they can cut a deal with any of them, so they're taking only ~9% in sellers fees (plus a variable smaller listing fee)

I can't tell you if it's a -good- marketing strategy, just that they're willing to take a short term loss to build hype.

        • +1

They most likely are running these sales to attract new customers and to bring back old customers. I know myself for one have spent more time looking on ebay in the past 2 months than I have for years.

  • +3

So… only s5 is the best deal? That's a bit of a downgrade from everything, to store specific, now too only a few items…

    • ran out of promo money rebates maybe

  • +1

500$ is good deal but I check on shoppingsquare , they sell only 560$ for 16gb but plus shipping though ! What I meant is to compare , it not very big deal ! Maybe if they do on g3 , I will buy.

    • The one on shoppingsquare is the 3G version isn't it? This might be the 4G one. Is it a grey import though?

    • By the time you add their exorbitant shipping rates, you are at $600+. So about 20% more, which is significant enough for me to wait around for this sale.

  • Can anyone tell which is the city on the tv screen? Come on you guys should know it!

  • +3
  • Wanted to buy a dishwasher, can anyone help me & tell me which dishwasher is a good buy?

  • -2

I wanted to buy an iPhone.

    • me too.. but its not listed

  • is this going to be aussie stock or grey import sold by kogan on ebay?

    • Someone asked for the speaker if you look at the fb page, and ebay said it would be sold through Kogan. So seems likely the phone might be Kogan as well.

  • I'm trying to decide whether or not to buy the S5 for $500 tommorow or get the newer S5 906 which i believe is the Korean version for under $700 delivered on ebay aswell considering from what ive read the specs are the best available at this stage. Any opinions?

    • +3

Honestly I think I'd prefer the 1+1 at around $440 over the S5. Yeah the 906 uses an 805, which offers a slight improvement over the 801. Has a higher res screen, but still offers similar battery life compared with the standard version.

      • 1+1?

        • +3
        • wow impressive!

        • @Ronnnie: I joined the http://oneplus.net/one log in…with the usd$ 349 p/tag. I am patient, so why not go thru the company direct?

        • @marcozmitch: I believe they don't ship to Australia.

        • +1

          @marcozmitch:

Yeah I was a member there, and received an invite a while back. You can't send it here directly, you have to send it say to the US and use a forwarder. By the time you send it to the US and use a forwarder to get it here, you'll be looking at a similar price of the Chinese version. The main difference is you can get the Chinese version faster and without needing an invite. The only difference from a hardware point of view between the Chinese version and international version is, the international version supports 700mhz band 17, but note that 700mhz band 17 is different to the Australian 700mhz band 28 and thus won't be compatible. So in other words, for us Aussies, no real advantage getting the international version over the Chinese version.

        • @RyanMK:

ooh interesting.. are those stereo speakers or dual mono speakers?

      • Ive read that since the 906 has the same battery as the original S5, the battery life would be affected due to the higher res. Also from the specs list, the 906 is supposed to be better than the oneplusone, hence why i was considering the 906

        • Yeah I was just going by a single review I read that claimed the battery life between the two were similar from their comparison.

      • +2

The 805 gpu is claimed to be 40% faster than 801, to me that isnt a slight improvement

        • Yes i agree, hence why I'm considering the 906 instead of the original S5. The 906 is better in every way from what ive read in comparision to the oneplusone or the original S5.

Plus considering the ebay deal tonite will most likely be grey import stock S5 on offer, i might aswell spend the extra $150 or so & get the 906 version. But i just need to find a definitive answer as to whether or not the 906 would work with Optus, if not I'm better of getting the original S5 tonite

        • +1

Well here's some gpu benchmarks of the 805. http://www.anandtech.com/show/8296/the-nvidia-shield-tablet-…

Yeah it seems to be better than I first thought I was judging by 3dmarks and antutu scores which seem to indicate hardly any improvement.

    • +1

The Prime SM-G906K/S hase the following LTE freq/bands:
      LTE900 (B8), LTE1800 (B3), LTE2100 (B1), LTE2600 (B7), LTE850 (B5)

So LTE 900, 1800, 2100, 2600 is used in Australia. LTE 700 is now available, but no biggie if the phone doesn't support it.

Delivered for $631 makes it very tempting….
      http://www.t-dimension.com/revamp/-c-0/samsung-galaxy-s5-lte…

      • I came across a whirlpool thread where they say that the 906 wont work on certain Optus bandwidths which if true is unfortunate as I'm with Optus. I currently have an Iphone 4 but unsure which bandwidth i would be using.

    Hi Guys,

Not sure if you already have seen this but
The G-Shock will be $95 and the LG TV is $345 for the 32"
