Boost Tango Smartphone (ZTE B790) - $29.40 @ Dick Smith In-Store Only + Click & Collect

70

A cheap, snappy little smartphone. Originally $49, now $29.40. As far as I have seen the Click & Collect stock count is not reliable and you may have to call the store to check the stock instead. It is running Ice Cream Sandwich and is basically an orange version of the Telstra Pulse (ZTE T970). It also works with a Telstra SIM. Very cheap to keep as a spare or one for the kids. Good for those who missed out on getting the Huawei G300+ in this deal

Refer to this comment for Black and White Telstra versions of the B/T790. In stock in-store and online.

Don't bother buying this phone - it's cheap for a reason (a lot of corners cut).

It doesn't have enough storage to install a decent number of apps without running into 'out of storage' errors, and it's running an outdated version of Android (incompatibilities, security holes).

If you're serious about getting a smartphone, you'll be shopping for a new one in no time.

Just save the money and get something decent with at least 8GB of storage (preferably 16GB+).

Something like the Moto G 8GB or 16GB would fit the bill - much better, and would last you at least a couple of years (especially if you get the LTE version with MicroSD slot).

Also, it may be difficult to get a working root for this.

    • Agreed. Cheap but not really very good for much.

Probably works o.k for making and receiving phone calls, social networking etc i would think. : )

Probably a great buy for kids that are able to cope with something less than an iPhone.

        • Yeah but if you are not going to use any apps then you might as well get a dumb phone, whack in a micro sd for songs and photos and get four times the battery life compared to charging it every day with a smart phone.
