    IPhone 6 on September 9th…

  • -5

Rule number one don't get contract phone, outright always cheaper plus no commitment: priceless

    • +6

Not everyone can afford to pay $699~$999 outright…

      • +1

        Then aim lower…

        • +1

Agreed - if you cant afford to pay cash for a depreciating consumer good you shouldnt have it.

    • +1

BS, some contracts are a bargain, not just for the device but for the Network access, data allowances fluctuate and it's not always for the better

HTC One rival, iphone? hahaha that's the funniest thing I heard all day.

      • Wasn't trying to start a fanboy thread, just stating the HTC's flagship phone is at that amount, which, at the time of purchase, was the same as Samsung's S5. Just comparing apples with apples.

I am not a big fan of Apple but Android is not the very reliable OS for business use (at least, in my opinion).

My friends got HTC but finally given up when he had an official OTA update to 4.0 (not to get confused: he tried to reset the phone but it did't work.). The HTC crashed again and again so he moved to iPhone 5, He's still using it and everything is running quite well and it's been almost 2 years from the phone was released.

I used to have couple of Android phones and tablets, I must say time will tell in regard to its reliability and stability, not the performance.

My 4S had been almost 3 years now and it's getting slow (with 3D animation in iOS 7), but when I turn off the animation and it works like a charm. It's hard to say for an android phone.

I am still keen to give it another try for android, but not at this time.

haha you are funny. anyone who threatens your precious htc is a fanboy?

          https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/137701

I have htc one m7 and stating the facts…
It has really bad camera, all purple colours under low light. If this isn't your first time with htc, you will know that they have bad battery life as well. If this is your first time, you will know in 6 months time.

If you are stuck in a contract, let's see what you say after 18 months.

        • @superbass: Well, my friend probably had the same idea with you before he got his iPhone 5.

        • -2

@bjdchwr: I think you can simply look around trains/buses/trams and see how many people actually still uses iphone 4/4s against see how many people actually uses s2 or htc xl.

Having said, recommend g3, s5, z2. in that order.

I have work iphones for a while so I hate looking at their screen..

        • @superbass:

If you have the notorious purple lens issue, get it fixed up under warranty. Its a common fault with the m7.

        • Just comparing apples with apples.

More like a rotten apple to Apple :P

        • @bjdchwr: You should try it. Like I used the original Iphone. Its sucks. But I tried the IPhone4 and lov it. But the Sony Z1 is just amazing. My wife has the totaly different experience woth her iphone5, its slow and crash after upgrade to IOS7.

        • @superbass: Its not the Iphone4 is bad, just don't upgrade to IOS6.

      • There are funnier things than that.

        eg.
Question: Why did the chicken cross the road?
Answer: To get to the other side.

        LOL!

      • How is what he said "funny", both those phones have similar prices.

    70 x 24 = 1680

  • +12

    70 * 22 = $1540 (2 months free)

Take into account $250 DSE - which is okay, they have regular deals…etc. = $1290

iPhone cost = $869 (Apple) or $709, depends on which reference you want to use. Let's use Kogan.

So you're paying for 24 months of unlimited phone for $581 = $24/month

    Good deal :)

    • finally! someone with some sense!

    • My sister got this deal and she bought a Woolworth's card from her DS gift card, which is much better as it can be used at all WOW retailers

      • How? Can you explain please.

        • You can use the DS gift card to buy other giftcards

      • You can buy a wish gift and with a DS gift card? Serious?

        • Yep, I rang DS head office to check first

    • +1

You are paying for an iphone in the end of it's cycle for full price at $869?

  • Went to local Dickies, but they would not honor the plans and want to charge me $9 for the handset (for my daughter)as they only follow the Vodafone website, so the catalogue is old news, deal expired already OP!
I was actually quite shcoked as one would think that with iphone 6 round the corner price would drop but no instead it went up with Vodafone as with Optus too, not sure why??
Maybe because some people dislike the larger 4.7inch and grabbing the last lots of 4"?? Personally I prefer the larger as I am using Note3.

    • if you OK with optus service then try getting Iphone5S (24 contract for cap plan per ur need) and they giving $150 Credit to your account. I was offered yesterday and its their chat support team can do.

Also, look at Virgin mobile plans for iphone

    • That's interesting as when I first saw this thread I was surprised as Vodafone have increased the handset price to $9 repayments on their website

    • where you located ? I knw dicksmith store who is honoring the deals, sometime this afternoon start accepting again.

user will get 9$ off for 70$ cap plan for Iphone5S

      • They not honouring it at stores.
It's $9 no matter where you buy it.

        • i got the iphone 5s last night for friend from Mel CBD based store in bourke street…
vodafone rep on phone applied rebate and gave plan on 70$ x 24 months only ( 2 months free as we ported the service)

          hope this helps

It's a meh deal. New iPhone will be coming out soon so the price will probably fall further than this.

    • +1

Was kind of my point in my above post, I guess it didn't come across like I'd hoped.

      • I think you should wait till iphone6 is here. The 5s would be discounted further.

        • iPhone 5 price didn't drop when 5s came out
Apple don't discount the subsidy on old handsets as they restrict stock prior to release of new device and as such you usually struggle to get them anyways.

  • Hey guys I have got samsung galaxy s5 from this deal. It is sealed if some one want to swap with 5s

    • How much u wanna sell mate? And what color?
