if you want it to record and notify you…

without subscription, you only get live viewing and manually recording on your phone…

    • +1

you can subscribe to 'swannsmart' but yeah it will cost you. This device is pointless to you unless you either want to pay the subscription or only want live viewing.

      • it's not much of a 'security camera' without the subscription.

you'd have to sit there staring at your phone all the time while you're away otherwise…

would've helped if you posted that in the deal…

Good find OP. Although the video review and some reviews here suggest connection issues with these.

  • Thanks OP Good finding

  • Very good find. Almost bought one of these when they were $6? at DSE, but this deal is much better.

    • Much better price….

  • 640x480 Resolution? Sounds pretty limited.

  • Isn't there a way of connecting this up to a PC on your lan and recording it or using some freeware software to email you when motion is detected or something? Then it'd be sweet.

    • +2

I just rang Swann, the guy said if not using the cloud, you can have it send an email alert if it detects motion. Sounds like that could be useful.

  • I have marked it expired. They have updated the deal and it is no longer available as a two pack, only single now.

This change was made at 09:41:10 AEST

Dirty B*$@%^s, changed the product on the link. Effectively doubling the price. Last time I ever deal with COTD.

    • Did you make a purchase? According to the purchase history everyone that make a purchase did so before the listing changed.

      • The confirmation email says "Swann WiFi Network Security Camera" (singular and no 2 pack), other than that there is only the link to the item on ebay. As we have discovered, it is for a single pack now.

        • My confirmation email has a picture with 2 pack written on it…?

        • @Umar511986: Correct, even though the listing has changed it gives you a link to click on so you can see what your purchased at the time. It clearly shows the picture with the 2 pack.

  • so it was a mistake for 2 pack?

    • Not sure , but I only purchased on the basis it was a twin pack. I have a screen shot of the original picture which shows it was a 2 pack.

    • Mistake or not? I purchased it on the basis of being a 2 pack. I can buy from bunnings if I wanted to at $49.97 each. I will be putting a claim through PayPal if they do not send a 2 pack.
Catchoftheday should be named Dodgeoftheday !

  • Paypal has issued a refund for me. Thinking to contact ebay and find out. Any ideas !

    Thanks

    • They should have compensated buyers for their error. They have a chance to review their listing before posting it. If a buyer "accidentally" buys something on eBay, can they back out so easily? it's unfair, been having bad experiences with COTD… disappointing.

  • I have been issued with a Paypal refund as well. Misleading if this is the case.

  • I received an email from them last night saying they wrongly advertised as 2, instead of 1.
This came after fully refund email from ebay.
I think u guys may get the email now.?

I were planing to use one to monitoring my pet…

  • Received both my cameras.
