Please edit your title to something more descriptive like "Logitech Harmony 785 Universal Remote - $99.95 + shipping from $8" or somewhere along the lines of that.

Also 3KG for parcel weight is a bit rich. I wouldn't think a remote would weigh that much.

Next time it will simply be unpublished until an appropriate title is provided.

Logitech Harmony 785 Universal Remote Control Only! $99.95
this is not an appropriate title or it isn't good enough?! so I can improvise please?

        • See the Deal Posting Guidelines (http://www.ozbargain.com.au/wiki/help:deal_posting_guideline…).

Always check with List of Price Comparison Sites to ensure it has lowest overall price.
Make sure the cost of postage and handling is included, if applicable.

And the reason why it probably wasn't classified as a valid post is:
          "Be descriptive
Please explain clearly what this deal is about. Things to mention include (1) merchant (2) price (3) product name (4) any expiry date and (5) location if it is specific to an area. Please also include a short summary.".

My only post so far had the required parts: "Harvey Norman "50% off Ink Cartridges" Ends 25/6/09 NSW"

BestBuyTek, the title you posted was:

          bestbuytek.com.au

As you would be aware, this is not an appropriate title.

This place was dispatching a computer case last week for free, so surely a remote could be done that way also (free P&H) (I guess there was more profit margin on the case).

      • The Case was the E21 Apache Gaming Case around $49.95 with a power supply and with Postage free but that deal is now over so how can the margin be so cheap?! no one would have had this case at such a low price with a PSU and FREE postage, name one in town or outta town.
Each day has a different deal!

there is always something cheaper if you do your search again.

    • So its $89.00 at Wireless1.

    • I think you are wrong , I just went to their website and it is $139 or something , thats false misleading advertising .

  • Zero ! i just checked Wireless1 its not for $89
Big negative for me for Wireless 1 as a store

  • Strange !

    • Wouldn't be the first time that price comparison site has the wrong price.

Freakovit will Fluidtek now put the price back up if they think the're not being beaten on price?

  • How do i know lets wait and see. but i can say i sent an email , and the reply was this .

" 1 per customer only available until close of business today "

Not much of a reply but answered by Question .

  • I think everyone deserves a go on their says and it seems like no matter we offer here there is always a negative from Zero Sydney with all respect here, I still to thank him on his negative comments but seriously I am seeing a better vote on the web site with the number of orders received since the post was up so I take it as these comments reached these people and made them go and place an order online.

Thanks for all these comments regardless positive or negative.

  • Still gives me an error in firefox

    Secure Connection Failed

www.bestbuytek.com uses an invalid security certificate.

The certificate is not trusted because the issuer certificate is unknown.

    (Error code: sec_error_unknown_issuer)

    • This could be a problem with the server's configuration, or it could be someone trying to >impersonate the server.

    • If you have connected to this server successfully in the past, the error may be temporary, and you >can try again later.

    • BestBuyTek thinks not having a secure site accessible in different browsers is OK (so I wouldn't be waiting for the company to fix it as the company doesn't care):

      http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/15297
      "BestBuyTek on 08/08/2009 - 12:18
It is funny how all the people that made a purchase didn’t get errors like you did otherwise they wouldn’t have been able to purchase themselves the SSL certificate is there and setup"

      and further down:
      "HueyData on 08/08/2009 - 17:37
Issue is clear and point has been made. There appears to be nothing to be gained from further comments."

      • +1

Just feeding back to the company in case they thought it had been fixed - it hasn't :o)

        • I know, I agree with you, I think either BestBuyTek doesn't care or doesn't realise (even though more then 1 person has pointed out about the non valid security certificate) about the issue and how potential customers may view the site as being non trustworthy due to an invalid security certificate.

  • Bestbuy tek please listen :

Im sending this out in here not private .

    1. Fix your certificate to all browsers , as it will jeprodise people's info .
    2. Please move it to a Hosting company . (or Fix whatever makes it slow )
    3. Other than that we wish you luck , and Zero and Mod are not picking on you , they are calling it as they see it . Fix it all and everyone is happy , and i can say that even Zero will post any good deal you might have .
    • "Zero and Mod are not picking on you , they are calling it as they see it" Agreed.

I have even pointed BestBuyTek to the Deal Posting Guidelines, and this isn't the first time, yet BestBuyTek still doesn't post as per the guidelines and then doesn't like it when the deal maybe removed.

Agree: "Fix your certificate to all browsers , as it will jeprodise people’s info ." or even people buying from BestBuyTek.

  • +1

Tell us what you are going to do about it and when so we all now . You have our support , but help out here ? when are you gonna fix it

    • First BestBuyTek has to even acknowledge (to themselves) that there is even a problem, then a solution may happen, becuase until then BestBuyTek thinks it 100% OK in relation to the security certificate so BestBuyTek doesn't think there is anything to be fixed.

  • I receive samsung drive from the previous deal ok from this store, many thanks.
However, this is not a good deal considering Fluidtek offer the same remote for $79. If you can offer the same price and throw free shipping (or $85 with free shipping), thats a good deal.

Sorry, but I have to vote negative on this…

    • In BestBuyTek's favour, the price at Fluitek came down AFTER this deal was posted, so it seems (no real proof) that Fluidtek reduced their price due to the posting here (just some wording they used about pick up etc), so in actual fact BestBuyTek WAS the cheapest earlier in the day (besides maybe Wireless1 which going by what BestBuyTek has typed doesn't show the same price as the price comparison site showed).

BestBuyTek can be thanked for tilting Fluidteks pricing on this (maybe).

    • Good to hear you got it delivered, your the first comment I've seeing actually stating that (but nothing bad either stating the opposite, only people who've picked it up).
      How was the packaging?

      "ben1680 on 08/08/2009 - 11:17
I manage to get Samsung drive. I guess it’s just going to be wait and see whether BestBuyTek are actually looking after their customer and great shop or not.
In the mean time, I give them a benefit of the doubt and vote positive for this deal. It is a good deal indeed.

BestBuyTek, please take care of my drive during shipping. Please remember that HDD are a very sensitive devices, so please put it in their original clamshell plastic packaging where it comes from, put it in antistatic bag, and give a lot of bubblewrap and padding before posting it. I don’t want to RMA the drive due to the unadequate packing protection and rough shipping. Thank you :)

      Always Do."
      My Bolding added.

Did it arrive the way you expected? It would be good to read some positives about BestBuyTek.

Fluidtek's price may be cheaper, but it's in-store only. That may not work for a lot of people, so I think BestButTek is worthy of a positive feedback from me in terms of accessibility. The web site certificate on the other hand is a bit of a worry, so a minus for that. Makes my vote neutral. ;)

  • Not the cheapest deal.

      Dear valued customers,
I completely agree that there is an issue with our certificates on certain browsers; we are making this our top priority to have resolved as soon as possible.
We are also in discussion with a new hosting company to increase the response times of our website, all of this will happen very shortly to ensure our customers have an excellent experience whilst shopping with us.
Please bear with us while we resolve these issues and we thank you for your ongoing support and custom.
You are all welcome to contact me directly if you have any concerns regarding the above (or for any other matter!), our email address is [email protected]
Again, thank you for your support and custom.
      Kind regards,
      Bestbuytek.

      • Good to read that the secuirty certificate issue is being looked at, and also the slowness of the site (though it actually seemed OK for me).

Noted ! But we would like a definite timeline . If not up by then , Me and Zero will be asking Why ?

    So get movin !!!

    • It's effecting the business more then me (as I haven't brought there online yet).

I truely think that the Logitech harmony 785 for $99.95 is still a good deal compared to other prices like on eBay and other online retails that charge minimum of $120.00 plus postage and let me say that their postage is Sydney is only $8.00 as I have bought from them before and received my order spot on with no issues over the next day of purchase.
