A previous thread on this seller includes allegations they were distributing complimentary not-for-resale keys for profit, and their working relationships with some shady outfits. They've also had deals unpublished for sockpuppeting, and posted deals here with no stock while advertising the same title for less on their main domain.

    Caveat emptor…

    • Good Day Tplen1,

Thank you for sharing your thoughts and a little history on thebluedroid.com.

As much as we appreciate and push the community to provide us with as much feedback as possible, I believe I should add a little to the history book.

On previous threads to "TheBlueDroid.com" we have recieved 100% positive feedback from those who purchased a product from our store. It is to be noted that this includes customers who faced issues activating or purchasing content from us. On our previous thread we had received 3 downvotes, these 3 downvotes are from user who did NOT purchase anything from thebluedroid.com

The previous thread can also be one of many examples of how we value our customers and do our best possible to assist if an issue presents itself.

The other issues you have mentioned are unfortunate mistakes made in the first weeks of a startup business.

I hope this clears things up a little, as mentioned previously, at thebluedroid we all work very hard to ensure our customers come first.

      Have a great Friday tplen1,

      Alex

I appreciate the fact that you've responded to this and am glad that you've had such great feedback. Having read a little more into your site, I can see that it seems to be a reseller for kinguin.net, and that these issues appear to be more of an issue with the Kinguin platform than necessarily anything inside the bounds of your control. For that, I'm sorry, though you should also note I didn't neg you as I wanted to have a bit of a further look first.

As a matter of feedback, I was interested in purchasing a product but am a little uncomfortable with the lack of contact details on the website and the legal conditions page which seems to be Kinguin's, and possibly (though not clearly listed as) Singapore based. I can also see you state that you're Melbourne based (as is the domain name registration), but there isn't anything on the site that seems to indicate that customers would be protected under Australian consumer law, you list your location as Singapore on two Facebook profiles that list your ownership of TheBlueDroid.com, and OzB shows you as located in Vietnam when you upvoted comments in this thread. I've been burned by bad keys before - so perhaps I have a bit of a chip on my shoulder - but unfortunately the realities of the shady key market end up burning end users and the honest merchant at the last step of the chain a lot.

I'm not trying to encourage a boycott of your site or anything like it, just the interactions with OzB have been a little inconsistent, and I think of some concern to potential buyers. The fact you've responded is a great sign and goes a long way to allaying these initial impressions. I'm glad you've got this feedback and are taking the time to respond here. Best of luck.

[edit - some info on Kinguin previously on OzB here]

          Hello again Tplen,

Thank you fr taking the time to reply, it is much appreciated!

Im sorry to hear that you are a little uncomfortable to purchase from us, although you do make a great point on why. We have made the decision to not include details on our location as we feel it would discourage our international customers from pruchasing from us.

You mentioned our comments are from vietnam and our facebook in singapore, this is correct as I am currently traveling asia to recruit an ESL team. We find the current CD Key market to be a little saturated and having our own ESL team would be a great way to stand out from the crowd.

As for as far as kinguin goes, I believe many users (including myself a few months back) confuse them with a standard game store . Kinguin.net itsel is a game key marketplace, a sort of Gumtree where anyone can create a vendor account and sell their games from. From this I can understand and agree why consumers are a little wiry when it comes to purchasing from them, as there is not necessarily a company behind every sale. This is also why Kinguins "Terms and Conditions" are so strict. And although this is not a positive thing they also have some amazing distributors working with them. Essentially this is where TheBlueDroid.com makes a diffrence, we sell only the products from verified and well rated distributors, then add our own customer protection and support to it.

I do hope this inspires a little more confidence, if you are still interested in purchasing from us but remain concerned shoot me an email "[email protected]" with your contact details and I can give you a call.

Have a great day and thanks again for the time spend to describe your concerns.

          Cheers,

          Alex
