Black widow ultimate 2013 : $99 without postage. My postage is approx $8.00 so it will be $107.00, an eBay seller is selling it for $115.00 including postage.

It's a good deal, not the best. I do need a new keyboard.

They're releasing a new one in a few weeks that feature RGB LEDS…

For those that are interested in a new KB :)

Otherwise The 2013 Ultimate is a VERY nice keyboard (spoken from an owner).

I like it also, but if you don't need the gaming "features", a cherry brown mx is a beautiful keyboard for $64 + del (evatech).

        • I own one and I definitely need the matrix font keys.

But in all seriousness, this is a great keyboard and I would definitely recommend getting one at this price. I think I paid ~$140

  • Centre Com System Office Mate 1 for $299 looks ok wish it said what motherboard and brand of ram. Does anyone know if the i3-4130(3.4Ghz) is better than an amd A10-6790K 4.0 GHz.

    • For multithreaded tasks, they'll likely be similar. For single-threaded tasks (and most things you do will be single-threaded), the Intel proc is apparently quite a bit better: synthetic benchmark comparison (of course, real workloads will differ). Don't be fooled by the clock speeds; Intel's architecture is far ahead of AMD's these days.

IIRC the AMD one's supposed to be better for onboard graphics, but you probably won't notice the difference if you aren't gaming (and if you are, do yourself a favour and get a proper discrete GPU).

Note that the Intel chip has far lower max TDP, which generally means it's going to have lower power consumption and generate less heat.

I'd take the Intel one, if I had to choose between the two at the same price.

      • ok thanks for that.. Its for a friend he doesnt do gaming only internet and jdownloader which slows down his older amd chip and i have added up parts to build a similar system to this and cant do it for $299..Not sure what motherboard is in it and for about$45 can add another 4 gig ram. Also thinking about the amd am3+ x8 FX-8320

        • The FX-8320 is about the same as the A10-6790K for single-threaded stuff - and worse than the i3-4130. It also uses even more electricity.

Unless he heavily multitasks, does video rendering, runs VMs, or other similar "unusual" activities, you're probably better off with the faster single-threaded performance. I don't think web browsing and download managers will do much multi-threaded work - unless he has a crapload of tabs open or something.

The other thing is those AMD chips have a considerably bigger L2 cache - that could improve performance. It might give them an edge over the i3, but I really can't be certain.

Either way, light web browsing and downloads shouldn't tax any halfway-decent CPU from 2013. But how long do you want the machine to last? Might be worth getting a better one now to last longer. Our programs, webapps, are getting more resource-intensive.

I'd also look into other possible causes for slowdowns - more RAM is generally a good idea (strictly speaking, 4GB should be fine for web, but 8 can certainly help), switching from a HDD to a SSD might help, etc.. Those can be upgraded later, though - the CPU is a tad more permanent.

        • thanks again i have a 256 gig ssd to load the operating system onto for him. I was just checking msy prices for I3 processors. They only list Intel Haswell Refresh 1150pin type does that mean you have to get a Intel Haswell Refresh Socket 1150pin Motherboard as they seem a lot more expensive than standard 1150pin Motherboard.

        • @paulaus:

Normally, all you need is a BIOS update on an older LGA1150 motherboard. You're better off checking the manufacturer's website - they should list supported CPUs, and you'll be able to see if an update is necessary (or exists).

  • I'd swerve this and go with the rosewill posted earlier. Too many bad experiences with razor (including a black widow)

  • I don't know why my computer when go to Dusk till Down page, it s continuous refresh, look like you press f5 multi time,ie and chrome is the same, anyone got this problem ? my labtop is win 8.1
