does it dry OK ? 85% polyester sounds like it'd just slip all over you, spreading the water out.

super dry mean you cant get it wet!

    • Yeah, it dries OK. I bought one of these "Sand" brand towels from DX last time they were on sale. They're a little small, so I don't think it will handle drying a full-sized adult after a shower, but it's good enough to get most of the sweat off you after a run. It's kind of like the stuff those yellow Jif cleaning cloths are made of.

If it was twice the length - which would still pack down smaller than a fluffy cotton towel - it would be ideal.

Generally you want a higher % for the Polyamide (the grippy texture in many microfiber towels comes from this).

I have a Sea to Summit towel that is 70% Polyester/30% Polyamide and while it feels nice, it holds very little water and is not particularly useful for fully drying yourself.

A 85%/15% towel with no outward weave would hold a very little water (my Sea to Summit is about 3:1 ratio so this towel would probably hold even less, making it pretty useless).

Buy some of the woven polyamide towels from ebay, the weave holds way more water (7:1 or more) and while they feel a bit grippy when you are drying, they actually work.

  • Ihave a couple of microfibre towels for the gym. They do dry quite well and can be packed away after a couple of hours air drying. Thye fold up quite compact too.

Drying yourself with them is a bit more effort than a normal towel, but they do work well.

    • its a bit difficult since the size is small and also i find them very abrasive on the skin. they do work though

I briefly looked at the pic and read "Super Thin Quick Dry Travel Towel USB $4.21" then started to wonder why a USB key was made from polyester & 31cm x 75cm in size.
