  • 2000 points = $10 credit. Is there a limit to how many points you get if you buy multiple packs of these?

    • There is a limit of one (500 points) per person.

"Offer available until Tue 30 September 2014 when you purchase a $2 Telstra Pre-Paid SIM Starter Kit in-store at Coles Supermarkets (including BI-LO excludes Coles Online). You must activate this offer, present your flybuys card at the time of purchase and activate your SIM before 28 October 2014 to receive the 500 BONUS POINTS. Limit of one per customer. Standard ID checks apply. The Pre-Paid offer you select will determine your credit expiry date and bonuses. Offer is not transferable. Points awarded after savings and discounts and will be credited up to 8 weeks from expiry of this offer."

    • Good luck activating enough packs in the promotional period to make it worthwhile. :)

  • I got a similar offer expiring 30/9 on my FlyBuys. I wonder if the points stack.

    • +2

I didn't get that. I got buy a $40 prepaid recharge and get 1000 points. Also 150 points if I spend $12.50 on cheese LOL.

How do they know if you have activated the sim?

    • +9

they put a spy cam inside the starter kit

      • hello nsa

Bought two $30 kits before as they gave 1000 point for activation as flybuy offer, but never received my points, so good chance are you will never receive the points.

      • +1

You will need to call flybuys for most of the Telstra offer. They never do it automatic.

          So correct here!
Flybuys often escape quietly this way… :)

Time for complaints to go up and for them to get into their act.

    • Telstra tells them, I would assume.

  • Do the cops come knocking at your door if you have like 20 phone numbers under your name? :P

      Can confirm.
      No they don't

    • If they do a Credit Check on you each time, it won't help your Credit Rating though!

Flybuys have been known to pay Telstra bonus points very late or not at all. Keep an eye on your account. You might be waiting more than 4 weeks to make your 50 cents profit.

  • Generally you have to notify them if you have more than 5 mobile services. Whether that stops you I have no idea, but the hassles of having to do that may not warrant the 50c

    • Doesn't stop you just means they are supposed to verify ID properly … I.e. they will ask you to go into a Telstra store and present ID

Having said that I currently have 8 active sims with them and haven't had to do that, I just say no when it asks if I have more than 5, if they ever do any checks I will just say I forgot I am sure I won't be thrown in jail over it

  • I need to port out of Vaya and then port back in as they won't let me upgrade my plan. If I buy this, when activating the SIM is there an to port my number over?

  • Do the checkout staff stop your purchase and ask for photo ID and fill out a form before allowing the purchase? They do at BigW, and the process takes about 5 minutes minimum. Not worth it for 50c profit.

They didn't at coles today -I used the self checkouts and it came up that I needed assistance but it was so busy that the guy was like yep, scanned his card and all was done.

      • Didn't for me either, though they have in the past. OTOH I was recently made to fill out the form by Kmart when I bought an unlocked mobile.

Good price! It'll be helpful for my 007 life.

  • after activated the sim card, then when it will expire?

    • @adpaholic

6 months after your recharge credit runs out :)

(tecnically) that is what is stated anyway ;)

  • Went to 2 different stores on the weekend and both says they don't know anything about the flybuys points and don't have that sign up. Went into the flybuys website and Telstra website and both don't show anything about bonus points. Showed the jpg and Coles lady kept going on about how you're not allowed to photo anything… sigh, bought one anyway and it was working when I tried it last night but I activated it anyway.
Thanks pointscrazy for the tip… will wait >4 weeks as I didn't see any bonus flybuys points yet.

  • now until 30/09/2014 - deal updated :)
