It appears Woolworths have an unadvertised special on the Belong $45/m (100GB) Starter SIM.

I'm switching from Woolworths Mobile to Belong (refer to https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/919332 for the double data deal), decided to buy a starter SIM today from Queanbeyan NSW Woolworths, and the receipt says $25 off due to a special. Everyday Rewards not required. Get an additional 10% off if you have a 10% off a shop to use via Everyday Rewards, making it $18.

Check with your local store to see if it's the same. Special appears on the Woolworths app for multiple stores across Australia, plus it was mentioned in the description of a recent deal.

  • This is better value than the $15 for the $30gb (25GB) belong plan @ coles if you are just using the $45 credit to sign up for 1 month of the $30 plan (cheapest signup deal), then use the remaining $15 for the second month whilst dropping down to the $25/month plan (plus get $20 the credit for the second month) so will cover you to 2.5 months-ish. $7 ish per month.

But for the 200GB data, great value for just the $18 for the first month on the $45 plan anyway.

    • Que?

      • In short - using the "amount" of $45 credit but siging up to a lower cost plan gives more months…

    • I cannot see $25 plan on their website. Is it something hidden for only existing customers?

      • It's only available after activation for the following month (2nd payment date).

Thank you. I have tried in Berala Woolies, however there was no discount on $45 starter kit. I ended up puchasing $30 starter pack, costed $15.

    Great find.

A reminder to always use a referral, to ensure you get the $20 credit too.

  • They now support esim - activate physical sim first and then you can swap to an esim.

  • Anyone know if you still activate the service type during sign up regardless of which sim you get off the shelf? Years ago i remember whenever you bought these SIMs they were just effectively $45 worth of credit (or whatever value was printed on the card) for your account and the sim could be used for data or voice.

Now i see officeworks specifically have a few "Starter Voice Kit" and "Starter Data Kit", wondering if this has changed

    • As far as I'm aware it's what you said in the last paragraph. They have specific starter packs for data only.

  • Can this be used in a 4G portable modem?

    • Since the 3G shut down it no longer works in my USB modem. You'd need a mobile phone with USB tethering & or hotspot.

    • It can
