  • Hm. Even $30 would have been good - if it at least had a brand.

    • Yumcha brand.

  • +21

You'd have to be 'Crazy' to buy this deal….

  • +11

    Very likely fake…

  • +10

OEM means fake in most cases.

  • -5

    Bought 20 lol

  • +3

Most random A** brand eva. Think I'll stick to the $49 Sandisk from MSY or wait for their sale.

  • Why are you all parroting it's fake? It's advertised as a no brand memory card. It never claimed to be a Sandisk, Sony or Samsung etc card. Are you saying it's a fake no brand memory card?

    • +16

They're saying more likely than not, you won't be getting 64GB. More like some corrupt card with 2GB

      • +8

yup, fake as in probably not even close to 64gb and no way its actually class 10. most likely a few gb at best and closer to class 1 speeds

        fake for sure

    • +6

Bought a 4GB USB stick long time ago, when that was considered a large size. The controller on the stick was modified to appear as a genuine 4GB although the memory chip was only 256MB. It would even appear to store files up to 4GB in size but the contents were all rubbish.

So be very, very careful trusting this to store your important files.

      • +2

Specifically, you'll want to test with H2testw first.

        • Just fill it up with pics or music and try to play them back… fail if fake.

  • +1

    Brand is Queenston or Sundisk?

    • +9

i heard its a genuine sorny or possibly magnetbox… if you really lucky you might even get a panaphonics

  • +1

    Donation time?

    • +1

Aw, being called a girl is so insulting.

  • +6

It's as genuine as tag heuer selling on the streets of Bangkok. !

  • There have been quite a few previous orders. It looks fine.

Chinese goods are usually several times cheaper than the western counterparts.

For example, a USB wifi adapter from your local computer store will probably set you back $20. On Ebay, you can pickup a cheap comfast with realtek chip for $6-7.

Do note: The offer has been subsidised by aliexpress.

Like Ebay, they have an escrow service. So you can dispute the goods if you believe they don't have the correct capacity.

    • -1

going by the standard global price, subsidising each card to the tune of $25 you reckon?

Put your money where your mouth is then and clean up!

      • Yes. Ebay subsidies the 20% deals so what are you on about?

        Mod: Removed foul language

        • -2

What are you on about? Are you saying that aliexpress is subsidising this by 75%?

          Mod: Removed personal attack

    • +3

Have you ever attempted to dispute a transaction? I have it's very much against the buyer.
It's no where near as user friendly as Paypal.
And it will cost you $14.40 to send it back with Aus Post registered.
And before you say chargeback you need to return it.
Aliexpress is still full of crap and scammers and isn't really appropriate for ozbargain, if you find a good supplier stick with them personally it took a couple of years to find one.

    • +1

Thanks for letting us know that cheap Chinese goods are actually less expensive than those in my local store, granddad.

      Any more pro tips?

    • For example, a USB wifi adapter from your local computer store will probably set you back $20. On Ebay, you can pickup a cheap comfast with realtek chip for $6-7.

      errr no…

in aus shops they are usually within a couple of dollars for similar chipsets etc. you can pick up a tp link (known quality brand) for $9 from MSY any day of the week but they are realtek chipsets with poor driver support (specifically in linux, no idea about windoze support). the ~$20 cards are atheros chipset with much better driver support across the board.

its like you are trying to claim your old clapped out vn commodore is similar to my r35 skyline…

I have one of these which i got off ebay for 10 buks. Seems to work for me so far… been a month or so. I just have my mp3s on the card, and all my photos that I take are saved on my mobile memory. Plus for me.

  • -1

Had to sign up to post this.
It's impossible for SDHC cards to go up to 64GB, so this one is definitely fake. The maximum they can get up to is 32GB, and if you are going to fork over $10 then you might as well get a genuine Sandisk from ebay that's ACTUALLY Class 10. Plus the delivery time would be infinitely faster then Aliexpress's.

    • -8

"It's impossible for SDHC cards to go up to 64GB"

Cough cough, its MICRO for starters and yes they can
      64GB SDHC

        • double cough cough *
look at the letters written on the picture of the sd card. SDXC.
Harvey Norman and Dicksmith love mislabelling these things for some reason.
        • -1

This could be mislabeled as well.

        • +1

Harvey Norman and Dicksmith love mislabelling these things for some reason.

the reason is they sell to morons who bring there camera in and say "manual says i need sdhc not sdxc"

i worked in IT retail for far to long, customers are morons on the most part who dont want to be informed

      • +5

The SDHC standard allows only 32GB. This is a physical limitation of the addressing system used. The ones you posted are CLEARLY labelled SDXC, which allow for a 2TB max capacity.

      • +5

No, they don't know what they are selling, in the past, or present.

    • -1

Yes they can, although instead the name changes from SDHC (SD High Capacity) to SDXC (SD eXtended Capacity). The seller/manufacturer probably hasn't noticed or paid attention if that's what you're getting at.

What I would be more concerned about is its durability/reliability. Yes it might have 64gb so no need to complain when you receive it, but what happens in 1 years time after frequent usage. What happens if all of a sudden it dies and you lose all your photos and data etc. I would rather spend my money on a lower capacity brand name SD card than a high capacity generic SD card.

      • Well, if it's a simple case of the manufacturer printing the wrong specs on their own product, which while worrisome on it's own, then it would be alright. Like you said though, they most likely won't last very long.

    • I don't understand why he was downvoted. His info was correct.

    • lol you can get 128 GB ones actually.

  • +3

The seller has some fake cards negative feedbacks. Run h2testw on the card and you will find out.

  • +5

I have one of these cards I picked up for $13. Massive waste of money the card goes corrupt after a few days of being formatted. If you purchase this card expect to loose data!

  • +12

nice gift for someone you hate.

    • Especially if they are going to use it in camera for oversea trip.

  • how about this one for the same price for 128gb. I sent message and the seller said it is correct for 1x128gb and not 4x32gb
    http://gaga.aliexpress.com/254624020-1991277758-detail.html

    Stock still 99000+.

    note: I also don't think 128gb value US$30.

    So be careful.

  • +1

What about this one? Its part of their one day sale.

Also anybody try this if it is fake?
    http://www.aliexpress.com/buyerprotection/index.html

    • +2

      128MB for $3.17!!!!

      • Who on earth would want 128MB anyway ???
And why would you pay so much for so little???

    • +1

I bought some of those as a why not see a few month ago, could tell they were fake from the packaging but I stupidly let the buyerprotection run out, though I didn't even know it existed when I bought them anyway…was fully prepared to lose the money to see, and yes they were fake.

I'm not even game enough to put them in a device, who knows what dodgy shit might be on them.

  • thanks great deal

  • If you buy this then kiss your money goodbye,it is definitely fake.

  • -2

Why is everyone calling it fake?

It has no brand how can it be fake?

Probably works just fine however this is not the kind of product you take risks with to save a couple of bucks.

    • +2

Fake flash. Claims 64GB, more likely ~4GB with a modified controller to report 64GB (and start overwriting data when you go above that). Controllers are cheap compared to the actual flash memory. Google "fake flash".

      • -4

Did you buy and confirm or just spewing up nonsense?

        • +3

          ^^Confirmed shill.

        • +2

I'm explaining why people are calling it fake. Whether this particular deal is fake or not? I don't know. And I don't care to find out.

Fake flash is a very common thing, and I do heavily suspect it here.

If anyone wants to buy one, make sure you test with H2testw first before using it. I'd also recommend having a second copy of anything you put on there, since it's not unheard of for cheap flash to fail with a far fewer number of writes than the good stuff.

    • I get it. Clive Palmer was right.

  • +2

DO NOT BUY unless you plan to scam the scammer. The packaging and product is exactly the same as numerous others on AliExpress that are fakes. The seller will usually issue a refund if the buyer finds out. Expect about 2 to 4GB class 4 or slower. For a few months there AliExpress promoted a 32GB sd card under $4 on their front page which was obviously fake from the legitimate feedback and common sense. As long as they are making money on transaction fees, they don't care.

  • +1

Fake. One buyer's feedback dated today claiming it is fake. You have to pay much more than this for a working 64GB card in China. Why would they ship it for less overseas.

  • This is 100% fake memory card. I wouldn't pay a dollar for it.

  • -3

All these negs and people commenting how it's not actually 64GB, have you actually owned THIS particular memory card and how much memory does this card actually have?

    • +2

Most overly cheap no-name memory cards are fakes that don't work. The risk, time, money and effort involved with buying this card, waiting for delivery, testing it out and more than likely returning it makes its a gamble not a bargain.

    • i doubt they do but with SDHC written on it and no branding I guess they suspect. My mate flies a lot and he brought back a '32GB' usb stick last year from Shenzhen which he paid $2 for and I ran a copy test program on it to find out its capacity and it trashed it because it wasn't 32GB.

    • +3

There is something called reputation, nowadays with the power of Internet, we don't need to fall into scam like this with a try out like old days.

  • +1

Please don't buy a fake. There is evidence to suggest it is fake too.

    • That's sincere of you!

      • +1

        It's because I care.

  • I couldn't even buy one as it wont change to AUD and Australia in the shipping section so I guess that is an omen worth heeding…

  • +3

    totally fake.

  • even if it isnt a fake, the controller is likely to have poor or none error and fault management.
    Corruption in 3 . 2 . 1 ……

  • +4

from my past experience of last few years, buying anything from Chinese sites is waste of money, no matter is branded or unbranded.

  • +1

This is an interesting video for anyone who has a spare hour https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CPEzLNh5YIo

  • I know it's late, but mine arrived yesterday. The packaging is identical to Samsung Class 10 EVO 64GB cards I bought for a lot more recently. I'm currently writing 60GB of files to it across my network. I believe the cards are legit, and were an excellent deal.
