      I logged in just so I could neg you, as your comment is completely useless, un-productive and unhelpful on every level.

        He means to say that it doesn't look like a mouse that's worth $50.

        I mean you can buy brand name standard wireless mice for around $25. http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&p…

        And you can actually buy branded wireless gaming mice for around $50. http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&p…

          I think it's clear enough he doesn't think it's worth $50…but it's an un-substantiated statement, so useless.

          Is it not pretty enough?…the wrong colour?…are the specs not good enough?

          Seems like a good deal for what is probably a very good mouse…especially if you need something to work on glass.

          I nearly bought one to replace my M525 (excellent mouse, but baby ate the scroll wheel rubber). Decided not to because the M905 only gets 6months out of 2 AA's, whereas the M525 gets 3 yrs.

          @watts:

          Not instantiated considering the fact that you can buy proper ROCCAT Pyra wireless gaming mouse for the same price. And also the fact that you can buy a Gigabyte ECO 600 wireless mouse for $25. This mouse in the topic is over priced for what it is.

          @hollykryten:

          do either of those work on glass? 'any surface' is the main selling point of this mouse..not gaming.

        • -4

          @watts:

          Why would you be using a mouse on glass?. There is such a thing called a mouse pad.

        • @hollykryten:

          that's not really the point. going by your thinking why bother with a wireless mouse altogether when you can get them wired for cheaper?

      Actually it is an extremely good mouse. I have had mine for a few years now and couldn't be happier with it. I bought it when the Microsoft one I had wouldn't track on some of the glossy desks at Uni. The M905 tracks on pretty much any surface including glass, the build quality and battery life are both fantastic and the hyperscroll feature is quite nice.

  • Thanks OP. Been looking for a decent wireless mouse for ages. No glossy plastic, and no need for a mouse pad, has me thinking this could be the right choice. Now I'm just waiting for the email with voucher to come through, which seems to be taking an eternity…

      You could have got a full gaming wireless mouse from PCCG for that price or a Gigabyte wireless mouse for $25 also from PCCG. No way that Logitech M905 from HN is worth that price.

      • +1

        I don't game, and who knows what those ones are like on different surfaces. Plus, I can pickup from my local HN. PCCG will charge me at least $12 shipping.

        • -3

          Unless a person lives near the PCCG store.

  • I bought this mouse from DSE online with 20% off coupon for $68 a few days ago! This is a very good price and it's a great mouse. The Dark Field tracking is great. It does have glossy plastic on top and it's also smaller than the average mouse.

    • Interesting about the glossy plastic. I was only looking on flickr at photos of the mouse, and it looked matte. I'll skip this one then, thanks for letting me know. Voucher email still hasn't come through (Gerry probably not sending them through today to prevent further savings on already discounted prices), so stuff it.

      Glossy plastic… My M905 doesn't have any glossy plastic. It's a plastic that has very a smooth (almost soft rubber) feel and no gloss…

        It has 2 variants. Older version comes in matte. New version comes in glossy plastic.

        • That's a shame, the older version has a really nice feel to it. I would have expected them to change the model number (like G700 > G700s) if they were making any changes.

        • +1

          yup. the newer ones are glossy.

          @AlmightyGaz:

          Yes!! The matte surface feels awesome especially after long hours of gaming with sweaty palm. =D

    This mouse is awesome in the lounge room for the home theatre. works on the couch, on your knee, carpet, whatever. I have never changed the batteries in 2 years either.

    This is a good quality mouse. I have had this for 3.5 years. Very solid mouse. Still going strong. I paid this price the time I bought this though. Couldnt recommend this anymore.

    • Definitely, I have had mine for about 2 years now and it has been fantastic and I couldn't recommend it more. It tracks on every surface I've used it on, the build quality and battery life is great and the hyperscroll feature is quite nice.

      • +1

        Yes, and its tracking is very precise. My logitech logo still there after so long. Not faded yet.

        I had the VX Nano prior to this and the nano was inferior in terms of quality. Died after 2 years and alot of built quality issue with buttons before it died.

  • alot of money for a mouse.

  • I got it pricematched while ago for $45. It is pretty good mouse working on glass surface.

    Totally love this mouse. Had mine for a year now and bought it for $57 a year a go. Good price.

    This is a laptop mouse but it works pretty well for games. Works on glass and is pretty well built. Drop mine quite a few times and it's all good. Changed the batteries once over the last year however this is not my primary mouse.

  • Bought one of these a few years ago and still working strong! Selling point to it is being able to use on glass ;D
    If you are worried about the AA batteries.. then use Eneloop Batteries ;)

  • I don't know about current prices but I paid $90 close to when it was released. Great mouse only downside is the scroll wheel button activates hyperscroll (just map the button below to overcome this)

  • This mouse is good if you need it to work on glass (besides the M950, which also works on glass). One downside I've found is that the batteries (Eneloop) only last about a month or so if you're using it constantly.

    If all you need is a basic mouse, which doesn't need to work on glass, then a Microsoft Bluetrack mouse is an excellent choice for cheaper.

    e.g. - the Microsoft Wireless Mobile Mouse 3500

    $16 @ MSY, -5% price match at Officeworks

    Also consider the features, as this one has back and forward buttons for navigation, which not all mice have these days.

    • suggest alkalines would be better

  • been wanting one of these for a while, at $42.60 i can't say no! Thanks OP =)

  • tempted…used one of these for a bit, and it's a great little portable laptop mouse that works well on all surfaces. if i didn't have too many mice/pointing devices already, i would grab one!

  • Fantastic portable mouse that pretty much tracks on any surface as marketed!

  • May I ask how to get 47.60? I can't only get $68 :(

    • expired.

    • The $47.60 sale is over. You are a bit late.

  • $40 on COTD at the moment. + $5 shipping (for me anyway…melb)
