Hi everybody, I found this on Groupon and thought I share it with you as it seems to be a unique and fun experience (checked with friends in Sydney and Melbourne and they are not aware of anything like that there).
If you have ever wondered (I know I have), whether you can actually escape a room in real life only armed with your intelligence (rather than on a PC) here is your chance.

It is $49 for one game and $98 for two games - games here means different puzzle rooms as in total they have two as it appears. Game time is 60 minutes. Have not done it yet myself but will soon. However, from people I know I have heard it is a lot of fun if you enjoy that sort of thing. Also, at half price at the moment it is worthwhile giving it a try I think (at least that is my reasoning for taking my partner and the kids there as a birthday present). The vouchers are valid until 18 November 2014.

The following is from the Groupon site:

Fort Locks is a unique form of entertainment, encouraging teamwork, creativity and puzzle solving in a fun and challenging environment. The two themed rooms allow one hour for teams of up to six people to understand clues and solve the puzzle. Fort Locks is a fun idea for corporate and sport team building and birthday parties, located in Fortitude Valley.

I just escaped from a room, unarmed, with only my intelligence. I sprayed prior to exiting in order to ensure the next player could breathe easy. It cost me nothing, unless you count $3 for my latest Kairosoft app.

Unless you physically removed it from their website, I shall assume, for the sake of good English, that you bought one. Really, unless you failed grade seven, it's not that hard…

  • Reminds me of the PC game Teen Agent
(and now I've got the song stuck in my head again)

These are in Melbourne (and Sydney) and I visited one called Orz the other week. It's the newest one, cheap ($29/$25pp) and was a lot of fun! I can't compare it to the bigger and more expensive ones but it was one of the best times I've had in ages!
    So I recommend the experience!

    • Thanks for that - will definitely be checking Orz out! :)

  • We have something similar in Perth called Mystic Clue Room Escape. It is rather cool and a bit different. I went with a group of friends and we enjoyed it.

  • hmm i have a bunch of these games on my iphone… you must escape, escape if you can, can you escape …

seriously though, whats the ones in sydney called?

    • Just google 'Sydney Escape Room' and the first two links are two different companies with escape rooms! I'm going to check them out with my Sydney friends when I get a chance to visit!

I would only buy tickets if the game was made interesting by the addition of snakes, spiders, or rabid badgers.

    • "…bring hither the skin diving suit with the bottom cut out, and unleash the rampant wildebeest."

  • Is it only me that thinks that looks like an ad for a brothel?

  • Now i need to find a bargain for friends…
