F1: Free Live Streaming of Races (VPN Required) @ SRF (Switzerland)

1750

Hopefully this deal helps any F1 fans wanting to watch tonight & in the future :)
Piastri is on pole for tonight's GP, let's go!! P1! Let's go Pastry!!

➕ Bonus Tip: You can watch a free 30 minute mini-replay of every race in HD (including tonight's) on Kayo, shortly after the race has ended.

[No subscription is needed, just be logged in! Credit to @Kirt's comment from the other deal: Free to Stream: F1 Qualifying & Practice (Account Required)]

The benefit to SRF is there's no account required: Just set your VPN to Switzerland, & the stream will play on an official TV station! The only downside is, you need to learn German to understand the commentary… (I open a YouTube live commentary to pair w/ the stream, eg. this channel.

Credit to Gizmodo article - According to them:

  • An ideal place to catch up on all Formula One races for free is SRF.

  • SRF is a Swiss-based TV channel with an on-demand service titled SRF Play. SRF Play’s website allows you to enjoy this company’s channels, and SRF Zwei broadcasts the 2025 Austria GP online for free.

  • The great thing about SRF Play is that it’s 100% free and doesn’t require an account. This means you can waltz in on the race day, click the live-stream, and enjoy. Moreover, it’ll be broadcast in Full HD.

      I’m jealous of WA’s Timezone for F1

      • Yeah it's nice, do miss the 8pm starts a few years ago. Next month it'll be 12am starts for east coast due to DST?

  • +3

I’ve been doing this since someone posted about it a few months ago! Shame about the Swiss/german commentary

    • +8

I sit in my vip box to watch it

      • +1

VIP box's can be a bit hot and miss in my experience

        • yeah - reminds me of the early days of internet pop-ups

    • +8

      Shame about the Swiss/german commentary

Though beats some of the content coming out of Sky's commentary box sometimes :)

      • +3

Yeah I would have rather heard that whole "poor lando's crash overshadows the win today" nonsense in a language I can't understand.

    • +2

Checkout this YT channel for live english commentary (also in description) - it definitely fills the void, considering I can watch for free! https://www.youtube.com/@stuffeyy/streams

Also it was me that posted a while back :) I had no clue they covered every race at the time of posting!

    • +1

      Shame about the Swiss/German commentary

There's a YouTube channel called 'F1 Gamer' who does live commentary - not great - but it's in English - with a delay

  • I haven't tried it but apparently m4sport.hu is also an option if your VPN has a Hungary option.

Watch your CPU spike when you open that site.

Someone is enjoying their new bitcoin

    • Thanks! Watched F1 on my phone and La Vuelta on TV (SBS channel) both live and free! Looks like a decisive race for Piastri in the championship and a decisive breakaway by Vingegaard to reduce the time gap on the red jersey leader!

  • +1

Interesting wonder if it's possible to get it casting

    • Casting with VPN doesnt work (generally).

    • +1

You can install a VPN app on a Firestick and watch streams in the browser app (generally).

Endlich können wir auch in Australien kostenlos die Formel 1 anschauen. Wir werden ja sonst fast überall abgezockt mit den Preisen hier. Freu mich schon auf das Rennen!

    • Huh?

      • +11

        Something about invading Poland

        • +3

          Finally, a solution!

    • +2

(Auto-translated) Finally we can also watch Formula 1 for free in Australia. We are otherwise ripped off almost everywhere with the prices here. I'm already looking forward to the race!

I pay $30 per year for some dodgy chinese iptv that has all the channels in the world. Been doing it for 3 years no issues.

    • +1

      Deets?

      • Goto alibaba and search IPTV. Theres heaps of sellers. Just pick on with good rating.

They will message you with the detail instructions. You basically have to downloaf iptv smarter pro app, enter yhr server details they provide and the username/pw.

      • I would like to know also, see what else is available

EDIT: ok so just signed up to a year for acestreams, now to figure out what else I can do with it

Will this link work all season? Or is it a new code for each race?

Also is there links for other sport?

    • Hey mate,
Monza is this weekend. Will these links work again? haha

  • +1

I just need the equivalent for afl and I can drop kayo

    • +1

The equivalent is watching the games that are available on free-to-air TV in Australia lol

  • thanks

  • I’m happy to wait till tomorrow and watch with formulio.

  • +1

Like I said on a previous deal.
There is still a different alternative if this one doesn't work for you.

    Piastri!!!

    • +2

      Go Oscar!!

But i'm questioning if i'm truly an Australian… feeling bad for Lando, it's pretty cruel if that loses him the championship chance…

      • +3

Also, Piastri wouldn't want to win the championship in this manner, but ultimately nothing Piastri can do about that…

At least Piastri didn't have to rely on a suspect penalty (at Silverstone - yeah I'm a biased Aussie) to gain points over his teammate!

        • +1

Yep, I’m balancing this one against that. Although this one is more points. Go Pastry boy!!!

        • +3

+Imola safety car +Miami sprint safety car +Hungary strategy. All handed Lando the wins.
Silverstone penalty was over the top. Kimi got 10s for putting Leclerc out of the race. Oscar did not hit anyone in GB let alone ended someone's race.
Lando's luck had to run out once.

The quality wasn't great when I ran it from the browser on my tv. Could've been the crappy tv browser. But for next time, is there a way to improve the quality settings? I could barely read the writing on the screen, but it was still watchable. Thanks

    • +1

I'm the same - I watch on a computer and the quality isn't perfect, I guess a smaller screen helps… I can't find a way to improve quality unfortunately

  • Is there a recommended VPN?

    • +1

I use PureVPN which works great + You can sign up during 130% CB offers, literally making a profit to watch for free!

  • +1

    Great find! Thanks OP!

  • +1

Can also be used for tennis grand slam full replays (which 9Now doesn't do much of outside of the Australian Open). Currently watching Djok vs Alcaraz

  • Stream link for tonights race (location Switzerland) - https://www.srf.ch/play/tv/-/video/formel-1-gp-aserbaidschan…

Should be an exciting eventful race like yesterday's qualifier :)

Edit - NOOO oscar!!!! don't do this to me…. stalled on start line - Update - actually he jumped the start lol/s.

    Update another 20s later:
NOOOOOOOOOOO - now crashed what is happening…

False start penalty will be a grid penalty for Oscar in Singapore now, since he can't serve the penalty. No penalty for Singapore actually, phew
