  • Ie dispensers are free these days. Coles have an offer too… 1 keg + dispenser for price of the keg.

    • Interesting if that is indeed the case, it seems Dan Murphy's are still trying to charge $34 for the dispenser alone.

      • yeah, they still charge for the dispenser, but it seems every outlet has a deal to get it for free recently.

so $49 for 19 beers, ($2.64 per beer) vs the normal price of a carton for $55 ($2.29 per beer)

doesnt sound that good to me!

There certainly is a bit of a premium for the novelty factor.

      • I've done the math and the novelty factor comes out at ~90c/L, when you consider a carton of Fifty Lashes is $56 at Dan's :)

      Beer taste better tho

      • lashes is a way superior beer, plus, if you homebrew and haven't moved to kegging (because you're an ozb tightass) you can reuse the bottles and dispensor to bottle and serve your homebrew.

  • Does anyone know how you can order this deal online?

They seem to want to charge for the dispenser. I missed out on the free dispenser last time.

      Starts tomorrow…

  • I just don't understand how they charge so much just to pour your own beer? There is far less packaging compared to a slab, why not just pour your beer into a glass and save the different?
I get the novelty part but surely the original dispenser cost should be all.

      Tastes better.

    • If you don't understand then don't get it. This is draught beer. If you can get draught beer for that price elsewhere let us know, otherwise no it is not the same as a slab.

      • I want to believe.

So with the Vic/Emu/New/run of the mill kegs it's not the exact same product, but poured into a 5L keg rather than a can/stubby/bottle?

It'd be a great deal if bank-issued AMEX cards could be used to get the $20 off (or $20 credit, or whatever it is); 6.4 litres of full-strength beer + a dispenser for $30. It's a shame that none of the AMEX deals actually include bank issued cards.
I have a slightly off-topic question (though the OP did mention the AMEX deal), does anyone know if it's possible to wangle an 'actual' AMEX-issued card with no yearly fee, that can be used for all these AMEX deals on OzB (none of which include the "bank issued" AMEX cards)?

  • The coles/Liquarland deal is better. 1 Tap king & 1 bottle James Squire for $30. Save $31
