    • Is this available at all stores or just Osborne Park?

    • agree, it seems all the stores only in WA?

  • Good to see Austin and NetPlus going head-to-head on the bargains :)

Can you please confirm the following

    a) the price

    Thanks

  • Is it far to walk to WA from Victoria ?

  • Giving a negative because of the triple price and complete lack of response from the rep.

  • Hi Guys,

Posted wrongly earlier. It's meant to be $79. My apologies.

    Walk in only price.

    Come grab them tomorrow!

    • Ya couldn't have posted that 3 minutes earlier?

      sigh

      Negative removed.

Now, could you clarify if it's all stores? Stock levels?

Wow, if this is legit (at $70) it's a HUGE special, I paid $85 + delivery ($104 all up) for the same drive.

It is extremely quick because it has eSATA and it comes with a bunch of extra cables and a poor quality fake leather pouch.

Seriously buy one if you're in the area and it is only $70-$79. Very good deal for this speedy drive.

  • According to the OCAU version of this 'special':

    "Whilst stocks last. 50 left!!"

    So… 10 per store?

  • +1

I woulda posted it earlier but my hands were all tied up lol. And yes it is available in all stores. 1st come 1st serve basis tho.

We have about 40 in Osborne Park and 10 in all other branches.

  • It's definitely $79.

    Regards
    Clement

  • Just bought one today from Cannington, they have another 7 left.

For those who is interested: the hdd inside is HTS543232L9A300

    HD Tune: Hitachi HTS543232L9A300 Benchmark

    Transfer Rate Minimum : 14.2 MB/sec
    Transfer Rate Maximum : 15.9 MB/sec
    Transfer Rate Average : 14.8 MB/sec
    Access Time : 19.3 ms
    Burst Rate : 14.9 MB/sec
    CPU Usage : 14.5%

The Benchmark might not be accurate as I have other USB hdd connected.

    • Hmm, interesting - can you confirm what model your LG drive is? XD1 or XD2?

I have the XD2 pictured and it has a Western Digital Scorpio Blue drive. I get about 61MB/s on sequential reads through eSATA and about 30MB/s writes through USB. Speeds vary a lot though depending on type of files used, etc.. might do a proper HD Tach benchmark and see what it gets.

      • It stated HXD2 on the label and says: HDD made in Thailand Assembled in China.

The bottleneck goes on the chipsets that is using. I think it is not that "Advanced" as it stated in the label.

  • Picked up one today from the Joondalup Store around 10.30am and they still had another couple then ,tried to charge me $99.00 , then told him they were only $79.00 on special today , he then gave me one at that price ..
