surprisingly i just open one and no warranty sticker on the screw :D and the HDD is Seagate 1TB 7200.12 SATA

      • -2

Seagate fail twice & won't trust them since the last problem @7200.11!

you just got bad luck i guess.. i have 20 random brand of hdds ranging from 1-4 years old and so far only 1 dead and WD 320GB :x

          agree with olc

          i have

          2 maxtors
          2 seagate
          1 lacie
          1 WD

the only issue i had was the wd power cord mucked up. other than that, none have ever failed.

          • @Davo1111: Yeah it really is luck of the draw for some people.

I've had 4 SeaGates and not one of them has failed (2 Internal+2 External). I still have a working 80Gb FreeAgent Go from at least 5 years ago, absolutely no issues with it.

Besides, SeaGate is the world's largest manufacturer of HDD's and created the first 5,400RPM, 7,200RPM, 10,000RPM, 15,000RPM drives, as well as the world's largest capacity drives and the smallest form factor drives.
It's not like they haven't built up a trusthworthy reputation.

Thanks for opening it up! Few retailers would :)

The 7200.12 is an extremely fast drive, the 500GB variants are some of the fastest 500GB drives around reaching absurdly high speeds. The 1TB should only be quicker with denser platters.

So tempted to buy one but what I really need is a 1TB internal delivered for $99 :)

$142 at MSY; it's cheaper with free shipping. Nice. I might buy one.

    • $142? where is it? i searched it says $165 in their website. might get one @ msy because i live not quite far from them

danilochan's post on "Free Shipping for All Father's Day Gift Idea" at Shopping Square have this for $128.95. free shipping from 21/08/2009 - 24/08/2009

  • Can't find it there at that price

  • -2

I can find the product on the site but it is not 1 of the items which has free delivery!

    • -1

umm no thats because you have to enter the code to get free delivery.

  • If u open your eyes u will see that there is no code @ shopping square. There is 150 items with free shipping and this HDD is not 1 of them.

    • i don't think you've worked out the difference between the 'reply to quote' and the 'reply to thread'. That is why you go a "retarded" comment from me.

  • I was the 1st to reply after m1ke_94 so it should have been obvious

  • Damn. Excellent price. Cheapest 1TB on the market right now.

  • How do you get the free shipping? I put the info in their shipping calculator and it estimates $15. Am I missing something obvious?

    • after you press add to cart, you will see payment and delivery method and you will need to put discount coupon before finalise the order.

      • Thanks for replying but I guess my question should've been worded as, where is the discount coupon or code?

        • Discount postage coupon/ code: FREESHIPPING
