  • How do they verify if someone qualify. Just via uni email? I don't want to buy and end up can't activate it

  • Uni email or UNI ID Card.

  • Some unis are transitioning to Google Drive due to simplicity in sharing and editing each others documents.

I still use Office 2013, does anyone know whether Microsoft is rumoured to or announced they'll move to a subscription model?

    • microsoft has already moved to a subscription model starting with office on mobile devices

      • Dang! Good thing mobile platforms have other options that are widely popular

  • +1

In fact that is 5TB since it is per used, up to five users…

  • One thing to note is, if you're a uni student considering purchasing a 365, some unis do offer officer 365 for free for their students.

    • UOW does this if anyone is wondering.

  • +2

Worth seeing if your uni is offering it for free while you are enrolled.

    e.g. Deakin University - https://deakin.service-now.com/kb_view.do?sysparm_article=KB… OR Vic Uni - http://www.vu.edu.au/student-tools/it-services-for-students/…

  • Swinburne offers it for free !!

  • If you're only a student for another 2 years will they cut off the subscription then or is it just that you have to be a student now?

  • +1

Seems like the University edition only lets you install on 2 PC/MACs and 2 Tablets not 5 like the regular Home edition.

  • Anyone know if macq uni offers it free?

  • standard market price, actually you can get cheaper as many as you want.

    • +1

      Could you verify that?

  • The HUP for $15 was good value :-)

    • HUP only includes the software but not Skype, 1 TB OneDrive or presumably software assurance (the next version of Office)

  • Anyone know if it is free for RMIT students?

  • Vic uni is free this ms office and 2010 and ios android aswell.

  • Normal Price.

It might be normal price, however decent info for people interested in getting 1TB Cloud storage for cheap.
I managed to get access with my TAFE studies, despite not having an applicable email address - they just needed proof of enrollment.
The synchronisation appears to be incredibly slow though, Dropbox appears to work much better.

  • The primary difference between this and getting it through a uni is that (based on purchasing an playing around for a few mintues):
    * This can be associated with a non .edu.au Microsoft Live account. With my uni one I get the software, etc. but it's stuck with my .edu.au account.
    * .edu.au Email Address validation is all that's required, i.e. they send an email to your .edu.au address. After that you can specify your non .edu.au Live account details.
    * if you didn't already have an Office 365 account you can create one and it asks you (although I can't remember the exact link) to enter a product key. This will have been sent to you as part of the registration process.

Don't necessarily quote me on all the above but it seems to work fine.

  • yeah incorrect info. office uni is only for 2 machines, not 5

  • What about T.A.F.E. colleges?
