  • Definitely need this for Sept renewal, can i purchase now and activate later on??
Wonder if another special will come along in the coming months.. Decisions Decisions!!
BIg shout out to Microsoft for jacking up the prices again!!!

    • +2

Yes, you can add the code now and it will add a year. That's what I did this morning.

I'd expect a better deal from SaveOnIT at some time, but no guarantees of course…

    • some people just get a lifetime subcription from ebay :D

      • Why you pay, if it is free :)

  • +23

Still using my cracked Office 2001

    ⊹ ࣪ ﹏𓊝﹏𓂁﹏⊹ ࣪ ˖

    • +7

It's the 5x1tb backup plans that seem good for the price.

The free Skype calls used to be a nice perk too…

      • +1

Couldn't get better - Absolutely no brainer - 6 x 1 TB cloud storage from a highly reputed provider Plus 6 distinct Office 365 subscriptions, 5 devices per account as mentioned by OP and above

    • Haven't come across Mass Grave Activation scripts?

  • Can you stack these if you have an existing subscription?

    • +1

      Yep

    • +1

There is a limit I think but can stack at least 3 years no problem.

      • +6

You can do 5 years, i stacked 5 years.

    • +1

Stacked 5 years, not due to expire until 2027.

  • +1

Thanks. I just had 3 days left on the office subscription. Renewed.

    • +1

You can activate office on Windows for free if that's all you need. Lookup Massgrave office activation.

      • Thanks, but my account is shared with family and friends who use the 1TB storage.

  • +1

Hmmmm, I get 30% off from work which gets me a price of $125/year, but I’m wondering when the next price rise is likely so if it’s wise to stack and effectively lock this price in for the next few years.

  • This is the copilot version, right? So it would be cheaper to renew at "Classic" pricing if you don't want copilot? (I have a current subscription so can't see "Microsoft 365 Family Classic" pricing)

edit: Looks like Classic is $139 aud so this is still cheaper (sauce: https://www.reddit.com/r/Office365/comments/1gj6c2q/psa_chec…)

  • +15

I miss the pre-CoPilot days when these were ~$85.

    • +1

I remember a splash screen came up on my Windows 10 laptop for 50% off, something like $64. I instantly bought it and then found I could buy again and again so I did until they said I couldn’t do more.

  • +17

GitHub —> MassGravel —> Microsoft Activation Script.

    • +3

Google -> MassGrave -> First link (Granted you have AdBlock)

    • +1

You miss out on the 1TB but I have 15TB for $300 HDD sat on my pc.

      • +3

Which is all well and good until you drop it or it has mechanical failure and you lose your data. I used to commission data recovery for customers. It's expensive and the outcome is often iffy. Don't know how many times over the years I have seen people heartbroken over data loss because they put stuff on a single hdd.

        • +1

A mate was robbed some time ago. Lost his Mac, and attached time machine backup

        • +1

True true. All important docs live in the cloud anyway. $3pm for Google drive is worth it for peace of mind. Cheaper than running my home server and worrying about raid failures, initial hardware setup costs, and running costs.
In saying that, I do have an old pc sat there that isn't doing anything atm. With a 1080Ti inside.

    • You can get keys there for Office 365? Thought it was for Windows 10 only.

      • Win 11 thru XP. Office 365. No CoPilot.

  • FYI this is still running as well. Might be a better option if you are about to run out and want to run the gauntlet of month to month.

    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/903661

    • This probably won't last long due to the recent Apple/Epic game court case. All these companies will probably run the charges through their own billing and avoid Apples 30% cut.

      • Only applies in the US as I understand it.

  • Thanks, attached another year til end of '27.

  • Thanks for this, just transferred to a new computer and it wouldn't let me modify any existing documents until I had a subscription. Saved me!

    • If you’ve already purchased this, then login to MS office apps using the same account. M

  • +7

Used to pay under $100 per year for this

  • is this the one with copilot pro?

  • FYI: If you have a child in school then use their @schools email for free Office.

    • could you provide a step-by-step?

      • +6

        Steps:
        1. Find partner of opposite gender.
        2. Procreate (let me know if you require steps for this activity).
        3. Send the result of the procreation activity to school.

        • +1

Stuck on step 1, keep getting error 'partner not found". Anyone else getting this error?

          • +1

@CoenJC: Check your standards config, the settings might be a little high

        • Seems legit, spend millions raising a child to get free Office.

    • Need more info!

    • Or just get it free from work.
I have bought my own copy because I need one drive that isn't attached to my work account but technically I've got 2 office licences.

And if you do get your own account the home use program gives a 30 percent discount.

  • +1

I have used SaveOnIT. They were so cheap and i can’t believe their price now $125 for personal! Thanks will use this.

  • The price on microsoft is $129 where is the savings?

  • Both products are cheaper than SaveOnIT's current pricing

Had no idea about this site, thanks OP.

Was after a Business Standard key and it seems pretty cheap on there.

  • Does this stack with any cashback offers

  • Thanks op. Ordered ( tho I did get a "was this you" msg from cba)

  • its not worth this TBH, may just go back to an older version.

  • +1

https://www.stacksocial.com/sales/microsoft-office-2024-home… this goes on sale often if you only need
    office

Otherwise the Turkish deal if you have iOS and need OneDrive too https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/903661

Still got my free dev subscription active with 25 x5TB accounts for free though lol, they've renewed it for over a year now.

    • That stack social link has MS office, which is fine but people get this subscription because of the storage.

      • Correct

        if you only need office

        .

if you have iOS and need OneDrive too

        xD

Some people are perfectly happy with 15GB GoogleDrive and may not need OneDrive, in that case ~$50 for Office 2024 (on sale) is way better. I like OneDrive though, the auto syncing user directories option is amazing for switching between computers. Simply login to OneDrive and all your files are magically there - no transferring anything over at all (albeit they take extra time to open as it downloads live).

    • Is it possible to get the lifetime licence and pay separately for one drive storage?
I love one drive but only need their basic plan $30/yr.
The stacksocial price for $159.97 for lifetime is good.

      • Yes, $30/yr plan for 100GB would work with the lifetime plan

Otherwise GoogleDrive also has cheaper monthly options or 15GB free

I would wait for a sale on stack or pick up 2021 lifetime, it gets cheaper than it is right now

Note lifetime is one license though not a family plan

        • Good to know. One licence is all I need.

  • Seriously? Someone would pay $130 for this?

    • -1

if nobody paid for it you wouldn't be able to use any of your cracked/warez copies… we subside so theres development on it! doesnt mean we like paying it.

      • -1

Choice is good, pay if you need, but Libreoffice is perfectly suitable and its PDF output is indistinguishable from any other suite. Portable hard-disk and backup regime is good enough - keep one at home for weekly, other in office for quarterly backup.

        • i was more likely refering to people that likes to use msoffice, but will consider the $10 route over the $130. as with your backup comments.. if you don't have any use for your data being "accessible" everywhere anytime, phone media sync storage, etc. then thats your usecase. I backup both my cloud data with physical….. I hope you don't store huge sized archives in your backups for years without checking.. you may fall into the bitrot saga. oh i will also warn you about ssd archiving! keep them powered up regularly…

          • @id:

you may fall into the bitrot

            “chkdsk /f /x /r” is free

            • @AlexF: chkdsk will not help you nor datarecovery software when theres physical surface degradations that causes bitrot. a prayer might for your reassurance things will be OK in this world to keep on living!

      • -2

Besides security patches, what development does Microsoft even do? Innovation is not their strong suit.

      • I need to look up what benefits the latest Word has over the ones from previous versions before this subscription bullshit was foisted on everyone.

      • maybe i should rephrase. sure for the avg user, there are plenty of free opensourced office alternatives. Many paying customers see the included cloud storage and integration as a major value. The fact is, paying users (biz, corporate, edu and even home users) help fund ongoing development as without financial support, MS Ofiice as we know it likely wouldn't continue to exist… Let’s be real people naturally lean toward free stuff when they can. We all like to assign our own sense of value to things. But at the end of the day, someone has to cover the costs.. whether it’s for infrastructure, support, or developer salaries. Sure, there’s always debate over what’s fair and where the money goes. Still, when it comes down to it, you and I have a choice: to bag, or to bag. If you know what I mean.

    • +2

Yes. As many posts anyone mention it's for the cloud storage and the ease to backup to it. Yes, I could get two hard drives for backup and redundancy but we're looking at 5+ years before it breaks even bit more importantly it's not as seamless backup as m365 cloud. I hate subscriptions but this is good value and super easy to use for non-ozbargain people.

      • You can get backblaze for a little less than $150 a year and that's unlimited cloud storage.

    • For 6TB of cloud storage for the whole family? Likely

  • I have had automatic renewal for Family subscription and I paid $125.30. It also shows next payment on 01/04/2026 for the same $125.30.
Not sure why I am being charged less than $179 for family as per their page.

    • +1

HUP (Home Use Program) through your work - discount is 30% off the subscription cost.

      • Hmm may be that could be the case. How can I find out if my subscription was through HUP.

  • +2

For anyone who has a subscription that is about to expire: cancel it. I did, or at least I tried to, but I was offered 2 months extra for free.

  • +5

Sometimes I wonder how we end up in this subscription crap. it used to be pay once and own for lifetime.

    • -2

I'm quite sure we can thank Netflix for it.

    • Pretty sure you can still use your Office 2003 on your windows 10 laptop. You've always had to pay for the newer version though

    • $$$

  • +1

I do like OneDrive for working across different devices but I pay $3 a month for 100gb

    https://www.microsoft.com/en-au/microsoft-365/p/microsoft-36…

  • Thank you OP.

  • You will own nothing and be happy. Remember when we used to buy Office discs and never had to purchase it again for the life of the product?

  • Why no Türkiye subscription?

  • Can anyone advise if this gives you access to Microsoft Forms where you can create and use surveys (that have been linked to a previous account)?
    TIA
