Samsung UA55H6400AW 55" (140cm) FHD LED LCD 100hz 3D Smart $1288 - Good Guys

150

Hi all - Was looking into purchasing one of these only 4 months ago for $1999. It seems to be the best price at the moment from the Good Guys for $1288 (other online stores also have it at that price but with an added delivery fee). You could probably get another $3 off for cash ;).

Also comes with two 3D glasses. No doubt HN, JB and others will follow soon with the price drop but if you are wanting it now it's a really good price!

Does say limit of 3 per customer… Go figure??

No doubt HN, JB and others will follow soon with the price drop

It was actually JB with the cheaper price, TGG then matched it

    • There you go - beat it by $10. I guess others will slowly bring it down to the $1250 price range within the next week or so…

I had this TV, it was terrible.

Care to elaborate? I am seriously looking at getting one so your feedback would be great?

      • When playing videos from USB devices, the audio would frequently stutter. If that's not something you ever do, or if you have an external media player, it might still be alright. It's basically all I use a TV for these days though, so I ditched it.

It also has a non-standard headphone jack.

Ok - thanks for the info. from what I have read this is the first I've heard of the problem. Have you had it checked out by Samsung?

        • @Tuhan: I contacted them, they weren't helpful, so I returned it.

        • @gilbarc:

          That sucks!

Could be so many reasons. I never played from the USB as I have a NAS but I did stream to it through the TVs upnp mode and it is flawless. Now I use an Intel NUC and it's perfect. Maybe you had to do an update or something. I have the 60inch version and I love this TV it's great value.

        • what do you mean by "non-standard headphone jack"?
Also, are you sure that the audio problem was the tv and not the usb device itself?

        • @GregFiona: I mean that it's smaller than a 3.5mm jack, but larger than a 2.5mm jack.

The audio problem was definitely with the TV. I tried 4 hard drives, 7 USB flash drives, and a few dozen files in multiple formats.

@snagseb: Yes it could be any of a number of reasons, but like I said, Samsung's customer support was sh*t and basically refused to help.

Cheers for the downvotes though, ding dongs :)

          @gilbarc:

Fair enough. Samsung support may be sh*t and maybe there was a firmware issue or something messing with the audio on USB devices but I don't think that makes it a terrible TV which is why you may have been negged - I was not a negger BTW.

        • @gilbarc: I usually downvote people who make extreme comments(see terrible) without giving solid explanations. Also the above model(like many other similar models ) doesn't appear to have a headphone jack at all
http://www.samsung.com/au/support/model/UA55H6400AWXXY so most probably you were trying to connect youy headphones to the IR out port.
          DING DONG :)

        • @GregFiona: Well, it was labelled Audio Out, and sticking the 2.5mm plug in and pushing it to the side (so that it made contact), you could hear a little sound out of one ear. So it was definitely an audio jack, just not any standard size I'm aware of.

+1 for using this one to stream from pc/vuze straight to tv. Cant rewind though which is a vuze limitation

  • you cant fault samsung 100Hz tvs at this price - the picture and quality for their smart tv range is great. I use Plex as my av player and it is FLAWLESS!!!

    "limit 3 per customer" its a killer … :(

  • I got the previous model, F6400, picture quality is great, smart services think not very smart, I usually just do screen mirroring from my Note 3, LG g2 or Tab S when I need to stream videos or youtube. The keyboard is really terrible to use.

Jb hifi had this price live fri-sun for fatherday day including the 48h6400, both a $400 saving !! Its just other companies trying to look good. If you buy from jb try to sweet talk the salesman as the "go" price can drop to $1285, if they're really nice cost in the system is $1235 which I sold a couple today for. Food for thought people :)

    • Hey mate if you don't mind would you be able to post/send a copy of your receipt I'll try to see if I can get a price match at good guys, Harvey normal or others.
      Thanks in advance.

  • Any idea if I can still get this TV for $1288? Or any recommendation on 55-60" TV? I'm not really interested in a 3D or smart TV.
