Metro Redux on XB1 Hong Hong Marketplace - $27AUD or HKD $197

160

Yes you read correctly.

I changed my xbox region to Hong Kong and saw this in the store. $197 HKD for both. Which is $27AUD with a 28 Degrees Card or there abouts with other cards.

For those who ask Qs, yes its in english and will work on an Aus Xbox.

To do this, change your region in system settings to Hong Kong and then restart and follow the prompts to the HK store and purchase accordingly.

  • Do you need a separate Xbox Live Account for this to work?

    • -1

No but afaik you can only change your region once every 3 months.

      • That is to change your xbox live region. This is just changing the console region. You can do it as many times as you want on the xbox one. Your live account stays tied to whatever original country it is from and an additional payment option becomes created for the new region you've watched to.

Nope you use your existing one.

  • Assuming you are on WP or Xbox One Aus FB page where I posted this? ;) but good job putting it up here to help others! Didn't think of that!

    • +2

He sure did. He told me lol

    • Wouldn't think posting region swapping deals on a Microsoft page would be a smart idea? But hey that's just me being paranoid they'll remove the option.

Edit: forgot to mention great bargain tho and glad posted cos didn't realise they expanded the nation's yet (used to just be nth America, UK, aus, etc) definitely beats the Canadian store

      • Posting the deal on what MS page? We are talking about Whirlpool and a fan made Xbox One Facebook page :S P.s. I'm pretty sure they are aware of what the console is capable of and aware that people could do this if they wanted. They did design it. If they wanted to stop it they could very easily. At this stage it obviously isn't impacting them enough to bother blocking it and facing more negative backlash. They want all the positivity they can get.

Makes much more sense!! Didn't realise there was a fan page doh

          Should find it!

Looking forward to seeing the prices of other new releases on hk store

USD 24.99 in US store. No big difference. So generally us store vs hk store, which is cheaper?

    • +3

er no, USD 24.99 in US store is for Metro 2033 Redux or Metro Last Light Redux, the Hong Hong Marketplace - $27AUD gets you both games

  • this will probably be the first xb1 games i will buy.

  • HK doesn't use Chinese currency??

    • No. It's its own province that uses Hong Kong dollars, not the Chinese Yuan.

      • in fact, you can use yuan in HK too, but it will be stupid to do so. because yuan is more expensive than hkd.

    Good one OP
Diablo 3 is also only $39 or thereabouts AUD. Happy Fathers Day to me :)

  • good deal, I cant get it to take my credit card which was saved, no option for paypal either? which again was saved. wont let me add a new one, keep saying post code is wrong

    • +2

When you add your credit card and address to HK don't put a postcode in at all. HK doesn't use them. I used my billing address just without a postcode. Then when you enter a phone number google a random HK one and only enter the 8 digits, doesn't like/want the country code etc.

        you legend. Thanks

  • Excellent, thanks.

  • Wow I might pick up both tonight for those prices!

  • cost me $27.78 on my bank statement, can't complain about that for 2 games :)

  • Awesome! What facebook page? Xbox owners australia?

  • purchased and installing.
