Hi all,

You may remember me as the flashaholic who wish to share his passion with you.

Well, due to the popular demand from their previous Sunwayman D40A deal (thank you all who supported), Banggood has extended an offer to Nitecore's answer to the 4XAA Flashlight - the amazing EA41.

The Nitecore EA41 is the 2014 updated version of their popular EA4.
For those who missed out, please be quick to avoid disappointment! Trust me, this one will sell out quick!!

Main difference between the EA41 and EA4
* 2014 versus 2013 model
* Two button set up versus single button
* Increased lumen output, 960 lumens versus 860 lumens

what the reviewer failed to mention is how sturdy and solid this flashlight is built! Please check out these torture test conducted by Nitecore based on the EA4 and the EA8. It's truly amazing with even a small explosion!

  • Banggood indeed

  • Can't seem to find a bike mount for it =(
    Great flashlight though =)

    • +1

Since I own this light and also cycle.

I can guarantee you this is not a good light for cycling. It is a thrower-type light.

It is intended for spotlighting, and is useless as a cycling light unless you want to light up the road 100m away.

Not to mention it chews through the 4AA batteries pretty damn quickly.

      • i think cyclists should stick to the lithium ones for longer runtime? it would reduce bulk and probably you can find more mounts suitable… its the same with gun mounts. carrying a strap of AAs is going to get you weird looks out in the field. :)

    • +1

agreed, I would avoid using this as a bike light because it's not floody enough.

If you do a lot of night cycling, I would consider investing in a light that uses 18650s. although it generally produces more lumens and longer running time, it's unlike like the AA batteries where it's far more commonly used.

      • I bought some of these torch holders that I had planned to mount on my bike those Cree Q5 torches that pop up here every so often.

        http://www.aliexpress.com/snapshot/6183659865.html

Havent actually tried them as yet cos I got proper bike lights.

Will try one of these days and see the those torches are adequate.

If so, then I'd have got an reasonably OK bike light (and torch) for like $7!

        • I've used that type, and the light tends to rotate around the handlebar as you ride, , needing continual adjustment to stop it pointing too high or too low.

  • the problem is the "button", have they fix it yet?

    • +1

with all torches, they often fail on the rubber parts, this one probably isn't immune either. i won't expect them to fix the problem, rather, are they actually selling the replacement parts itself yet? The last i checked, they still haven't for the old model.

that said, i am getting this one, since well…. i have 48 new eneloops on the way, need to test them all somehow.:)

    • I don't work for Nitecore but I'm assuming the problem was serious enough for them to design a new button. otherwise they could have had two of those from the EA4 implemented to the new EA41.

Or I could be way wrong and it only happened to a handful of flashlights out of the tens of thousands they've sold and the new design is purely for cosmetic purposes….

Maybe I am stupid but I think a title that starts with 4x implies that you are getting 4 units of the item - not how many batteries it uses.

    • Then you see the AA after the 4x, and you know the item is a flash light. And flash lights use batteries, and double A batteries are the most common size.

  • Got one already…..got the Sunway man too,….

    Must. Resist.

    • They're just torches right. Am I missing something?

      • I have the EA4 and they have an amazing WOW factor when you show anybody. 4 of my friends ended up with torch envy and bought one after seeing mine

        • The real secret is finding the tactical setting and scaring the shit out of all your stoner friends at night :D

      • yep, it's like crack cocaine. Once you buy a high powered torch, you can never stop buying more. These are nothing like the torch you had as a kid, or the "7 LED" ones you see at servos.

Just buy one, although I'd start with a basic XML-T6 for around $12

    • my family and friends keep asking the same thing! :P

but it's just so difficult to stop looking into the light!! lol

  • How's it compare to the Sunwayman D40A? They seem very similiar in design and specs.

    • +2

to be honest, I'm not quite sure.
I'm waiting on my Sunwayman D40A to delivered.

From what I've read, Nitecore released the EA4 and this may have popularized the 4xAA battery configuration during a time when a lot of flashaholics moved on from AAs to 18650s in order to get more lumens and better run time.

Sunwayman later released the D40A which included more settings such as a "moon light mode" at 1 lumen. This proved vastly popular and Nitecore responded by released their EA41 which also included this function.

In summary, unless you're a flashaholic or with too many Eneloops that you don't know what you're going to do with them, you could potentially sit this one out.

Like mentioned, this flashlight is more targeted for those who missed out on the Sunwayman D40A deal but please feel free to buy another and join the addictive Flashaholic club! :)

    • +2

Sorry, I forgot to mention one big difference.

      Sunwayman D40A - uses a battery carrier.
Nitecore EA41 - the battery compartments are molded into the aluminium.

  • Is bangood reliable? I'm worried about fakes.

    • reliable? I would damn hope so.
when I first purchased something from them months ago they delivered it but it did take a long time. like a-month-long-time.

fakes? I'm a flashaholic and this item isn't fake. If they sent me a fake or a clone, I will ask for a refund and/or take this matter to paypal.

Unless you want a low budget flashlight still pretty sturdy and they usually go for under $10. you can still get fakes for around $15 and as much as $25 but that's really pushing into real, top quality stuff so you might as well get the real thing.

The $3 single AA battery powered flashlight is still pretty awesome I reckon, so I have a few of those around. Pity I haven't been able to find any specials on these little pocket rockets.

  • Good price, but be aware that Banggood's customer service is extremely poor if you have problems with your order.

I chose the free shipping option and did not receive an item after 40+ days. When I contacted Banggood by email and live chat, I was told to wait another week, check the post office, or that customs could be holding it. They also refused to refund. Once I had opened a PayPal dispute, however, they replied with "close the case, then we will refund".
I was able to get a refund by escalating the dispute. Several months later, still no item.

    • +1

      I can understand your frustration!

next time if you wish to give them another go, direct your email to "Elin".
She's the one that assisted me with my order and she was lovely. Prompt (response within 24hrs), near perfect English and sorted out my problem.

I hope this hasn't put you off on becoming a potential torch addict! :)

  • Hi All. I must be missing it but when and where can I enter the code as I cant seem to find it after adding the item to the cart. Thx

    • -1

      Are you blonde lol..
Add to cart…..Go to cart….then right under ship my order to there is a box …Have a coupon code? enter code there and apply…..

  • -1

No I'm not blond. Would you like any further information, eye color, height etc. Hope that assists with your research. Thx for the advice regarding the checkout. • Thanks I've been waiting for a deal on a good LED light, not that I need one but I want one :P

  • +2

imho a very reliable and fast supplier

    Regards

    OldSee

    • looks exactly the same to me.

This information does not appear using samsung note 3 android, hence the question.

Doesn't appear using Safari on an iPhone5 either?!?! I don't have Windows, so any way of using DEAL41 with a non-Windows Smart Phone?

  • -1

Can I kill someone with this? No? Maybe small animals?

  • Does the nitecore d4 come with a AU plug ?

  • +1

I bought the EA4 from Banggood last year without any worries. This torch is amazing and works well with normal AA rechargeable batteries. Its hard to describe the power, portability, strength and quality of this torch. This new model seems to fix a few things:
    - Lowest light level was too bright, the EA41 has a 1 lumen setting
    - No way to know how much battery life is left, the EA41 has a remaining battery indicator
    - Very complex set of button presses to operate, hopefully the two buttons fix this
My EA4 is a neutral white LED and having never owned a neutral white torch before I was surprised what a difference it makes. Everything looks naturally lit and the colours are great. I will never buy a cool white torch again.

  • Bought the D4 charger for AU$33. Sick of pairing envelops. Thanks

  • Thanks got one.

  • Thanks got one.

  • +1

Purchased on the 31/08/14. Recieved this message 5 mins ago. Just thought people should be aware that it is not instock before ordering.

Thanks for your shopping with Banggood.

I am so sorry that the item SKU150519 is out of stock now and we are not sure the arrival date.

Would you like to change other same value items instead?

So sorry for all the inconvenience caused.

    Best regards

    • I got a similar email. Hope it doesn't take to long for stock to become available!

    • I just received mine today.

Will test it out tonight after popping in a few eneloops :)
Report back only if something is NOT right.

      • +1

Nice, hopefully mine isn't too far away.

      • If you got a tracking number with your order, was it accurate? Or did the delivery come as a surprise?

  • Received mine today :)

  • mine arrived last week. didn't realised it arrived in the po box until i went to check it. so far so good. one gripe is that my nitecores (I own a couple) that came from chinamail never arrived with it's box in perfect condition. They were always quite banged up when it arrived.

    • yea, the outer cardboard box was pretty damaged, once you open it up you have layers on layers of plastic wrapping which still caused some cosmetic dents on the packaging, minor but visible.

      the light itself is awesome!
heats up quite quickly though on max output compared to my Sunwayman D40A

  • Received mine yesterday. Funny, the tracking number status hasn't been updated since the 11th.
