GILTAU

Gilt is launching in Australia, and as part of the promotion offering free shipping to Australia. Some great sales going on at the moment, but keep an eye on what you are buying as some are diffusion brands. Most things ship to Australia although there might be a few exceptions.

I had a look. A lot of the stuff they sell seem to have a ridiculously high RRP and the sale price is also high. Example this jacket RRP $567.80, sale price $148.00 so would want to be a really nice jacket for that price. http://www.gilt.com/sale/men/summer-sweaters/product/1020776…

  • Check the terms & conditions here. I've tried a couple of times to get the free shipping, but in the T&C it says that if shipping is more than $9.95, then you just get a credit of $9.95 rather than free shipping. I have two pairs of shoes in my cart and it's charging me $49.70 shipping for both (or $27.50 for one pair) AFTER the $9.95 credit so it's hardly free shipping :/

    • It is misleading but that's gilt's fault not the OPs.

It seems it's a $10 credit toward shipping which, given that shipping to Australia is only $9.95 with orders over $100, translates to "free" shipping for order over $100. For all other orders it will merely reduce the shipping charge by $10 typically resulting in a circa $30 shipping fee.

      • It's not that simple apparently - I had a $49.70 shipping cost on a ~$150 shopping cart of two regular pairs of shoes (not boots or even massive heels). Guess it all depends what you're buying as they claim a small amount of orders aren't eligible due to high shipping costs on their end.

I don't know if I'm just having bad luck, but I've had free shipping codes for the last month or so and haven't managed to get the shipping charged under $27. First world problems etc etc, but I want my damn shoes!

  • MY20 for an extra 20% off items (up to $50 off) but can't stack on top of the free shipping code.
