I like the Merino Blend Hooded Jumper. How's the sizing on these?

    • Hi Jack,

These are slim fitting. The model is wearing a size M and has a 102cm chest (42inch) and he is about 188-189cm tall.

      I'm a chest size 106 and about 186cm and would wear a L.

Hopefully this helps out a bit!

      Cheers!

  • OP can you advise any info on what weight of merino these are?

And if we find they are the wrong size, can they be exchanged?

    • "You can exchange the size of any product you buy at our online store at any of our retail stores, or by sending the product back to us at our distribution centre. Please note that the online store may be out of stock for the new size and colour you are after. Please note that items purchased in store will have to be taken to a store and cannot be received by our distribution centre."

    • Hi Norkle,

These are between 230 and 250 gsm. As below, they can be returned or exchanged. You will find a card with all the details included in your order.

      Cheers!

  • Cheers, been looking for some cheap jumpers!

Use the coupon code: STUDENTEDGE31425 to get the price down to $20.24

    • +2

Ah crap, ordered too quickly :(

      • +1

I bought 3x jumpers so I just missed paid an extra $20…

        • +1

Tried to call and cancel order. No one answering the phone. Sigh. I know it's a good deal but feel like I've been ripped off $20.

        • +1

          @uder:
          you have.

      • +1

It's supposed to be for Student Edge members only.

      • +18

The code is obviously meant for Student Edge users, so how's it their fault for not providing a code meant for another promo/site. Hallensteins often have a couple active promo codes floating around if you do some searching, I don't think it's the responsibility for the rep to post promo codes which are meant for different sales/promo. Besides, Hallensteins are usually pretty chill about applying the discount even though the sale has been made (from my own experience).

        • WD - once again. Bargain hunters never learn.

      • -1

Lol they don't have to, it's your own responsibilities to do so. I am surprised you as an Ozbargainer bought things without doing further research.

        For future references:

        1. Look at the prices, compare them
        2. Research for the discount codes from various sources
        3. Find out if there is any cashback offered
        4. From time to time, paypal or your credit card companies also offer discounts or cashback as well.
      • I don't blame the rep at all. I should have searched for codes. Rookie error.

      • -1

not sure why the socialist sheep (or shills) negged your quality BARGAIN HUNTING observation.

    • Hmm - order 2 for $52 with free shipping, or 2 for $20.24 each then pay 410 for shipping…

      • +1

Just order 3 like I did

      • I got two plus a Kit Basic Zip Hoodie delivered for $54

    • Champion! Triple-y better than Qwibble 8% cashback.

  • I read this as 100% off…..!

    • +1

Cmon this is ozbargain not ozfree

      • -1

It is when it comes to some apps!

  • Hi Rep, what size is the model wearing?

    • Hi mate,

The model is wearing a size M. He is quite tall though so that's why they look a little short on him.

      Cheers!

  • +6

My father looks nothing like that.

  • +6

Thanks for the code, got 3.

How annoying that they have an Amex logo in the payment details then when you try to pay with Amex it says 'AMEX NOT ACCEPTED'.

  • Bought 3. Thanks!!

  • +2

Couldn't be worse than the cheap sh*t from The Hut.

  • nice got 3.. good price!

  • Same here, was thinking of buying 2 to get free shipping but ended up buying 3 with the student code.

  • Store rep: any chance on a free shipping at $25 soon or a 20% discount voucher coming up?

Also does anyone know if you get anything in the mail when you buy from them, like a future discount code? I've bought so many times and just eaten the chocolate not read the paperwork :)

Heads up that the wool looks very thin from the pictures and your shirts will show through.

    • agree - looks extremely thin

      • I purchased one last time, it is very thin. But it works well as an under layer to coats and thin jackets

    • +3

Yes it is thin. But for the price I think they are good. They do pill, and I think mine might have shrunk slightly over time. But I think they are great value and still wear mine which are over 12mths old.

      • Good to know, thanks :)

      • +1

You know whats weird with these Merino jumpers…they don't all pill at the same rate.

My blue jumper went nuts after a few wears, the black is still damn near mint as is the red (though haven't worn the red as much).

    • +1

I'll make sure to not wear my bra

  • Thanks, purchased 3. Stocking up for next winter :)

  • +2

There is also a 25% off Father's Day code HBFATHER14 for purchases over $120.

    • +1

or just use the student edge code with no minimum purchase requirement

    • Thanks mate, used the 25% code. You saved me over $50!

  • +4

Are you guys still sending out bonus whittaker's chocolate?

  • Awesome just bought three - much better value than Connor cotton tops! $60 nice!

  • have never been able to afford merino before.
will i need to use the beard trimmer on this?

  • +1

Their model is the same that guy that models for The Iconic…

  • The real bargains are in their clearance items.

I just scored 5 shirts and a pair of chinos for $50.50 delivered. Thanks OP

  • +1

    winter is …

    • Just cut them and make them short for spring.

  • +2

I purchased one previously for around $27. Within a week the stitching came undone on the back and to the shoulder. Then two weeks later the jumper needed more mending. I would not purchase it again

  • Great deal and good code. Thanks!

  • Bought. Considering I bought ONE merino jumper from Uniquo for $50 this was quite a saving especially with that coupon code.
    I love ozbargain!

  • +2

    STUDENTEDGE31425 expired?

    • +1

its not working for me too

    • geeze be pretty rude of them to go and cancel the code like that!! I was going to place an order tomorrow, hope it will be reinstated..

  • Looks like they made coupons not work on these reduced items… bummer

  • +9

    Hey guys!

As some of you have noticed we've removed the sale and clearance items from the STUDENTEDGE discount code. This code was only ever meant to work with full priced items but when it was set up someone ticked the wrong box -.-

Unfortunately I can't turn this back on. The best I can offer is if you sign up to our newsletter you will still receive a 20% discount code off everything.

    Cheers!

    • woot, got my code!

    • Thanks for the clarification

  • +1

Clicked on the enlarged image of half zip jumper and can see the shirt pattern through the jumper! That is a skimpy knit of very low weight thread.

  • Bought a few polos last year from here. One of them shrunk a lot after washing.

  • +1

Icebreaker is the brand to go to for Merino, but these prices are very attractive :)

  • I already own one merino from HB and it's great (comfortable and soft), would definitely recommend. Unfortunately this time they're out of smalls in the v-necks I want…

  • +1

A few weeks ago Aldi had these for $15. Just a benchmark for those rushing in to buy. If you do not absolutely need one now, I suggest wait for next year's Aldi winter sale.
Edit: was it 15? Can someone confirm? I have a feeling they were $15.

    • -1

The ones I looked at at Aldi were cotton (95%) and cashmere (5%) Doesn't compare to merino wool. I would like to know the weight though.

      • -1

We are not talking the same stuff dude!
Aldi sold Merino wool stuff middle of winter here in Sydney. My wife bought some.

  • Hey guys!

We've been getting stock back from our branches to replenish any missing sizes. If you were after a size or colour that you couldn't find, it would pay to check it out tomorrow and saturday.

    Cheers!

  • Hi Rep,
The email that I received when sign up for the Newsletter saying Free delivery on order over $25.
How do I apply this? as it still showing delivery $10.
    Thanks.

    • Hi there,

It looks like you received the nz version of the email. Get in touch with our customer services team and they should be able to help sort this out.

      [email protected]

      Cheers!

      • Hi daveoi, I bought a few "Marino V neck Jumpers" of different colours medium size but unfortunately its abit too big. What's the best way to return them and get size small instead? Can u pm me for more details

  • Placed order late Tues. Had an email 9am the next day to say they would sort out my order where I chose the wrong size. 24hrs later, I had the jumper in my hands… From NZ. Amazing turnaround time! Haven't washed them, but quality seems good. They are a bit see through when stretching to put them on. Not see through once on.

  • To those who bought, here's a link to caring for your merino…
    http://www.woolmark.com/content/publicationPDFs/Introduction…

It seems hand washing is the best for longevity of your garment. They note that some are ok in the washing machine if the inside rage says "Machine Washable". These Hallensteins jumpers don't have that on their tag, but do say "Cold hand wash".
This may explain why comments above mention shrinkage and pilling, so be Amish with your get-up cleaning.

  • OMG got my knitwear today, as well as my surprise chocolate.
    Thank you all!!!

  • Wow, super fast service and happy with the quality!!!
    Received within 3days from order.
    Thanks for the Chocolate

  • I want the full zip but it's 50% polyester :(
    Anyone have this?

  • Happy bunny. Ordered 3, delivered by DHL today.
All very thin, but warm once on. Nice 'n' soft too.
Choc would have been nice too if I had spotted it first.

  • Very happy with these… For $20 each who's complaining!!!!
TThe chocolate in the package was really tasty too

  • NVM.

  • Rep, any chance of me exchanging the Absent Melange Cardigan in Small with a Merino Cardigan in Small? Did not expect the Absent to be so long in length.

  • Rep: I am not able to use the code received after signing on the newsletter. please help. when i put in the code the amount does not reduce

  • Guys - thanks for all the comments…question for you

Merino wool - specifically those that have received their orders, is it itchy?

I tend not to like the feel of wool on my body…just wanted to know before purchasing!

    thank you!

  • any other experiences guys? re: is the Merino wool itchy?
