  • Can you back stack them?

The only reason deals like this are around is because they're banking on you not actually turning up that often.

      (ie. no)

      • +4

or turning up and drinking way more after the one… :D

        • +3

and turning up every day (because its free), when normally you would only go there a few times a week.

and to get you to go back to them, instead of going to the competition

Noice. I'm in Queensland and don't understand'middy'. Is it a 'pot' or 'schooner'?

    • it equals a "pot".
when i went to Melbourne and was ordering a middy the bar staff kept saying its a pot.

      • +2

        Weirdo's

        • +1

No one has ever heard of 'middy-belly'… It's pot-belly!!! ;)

    • +1

      A middy (285ml) is a half of a pint (570ml)

I didn't know there was so many sizes and that it varied across states, I learn something new today.
I always get pot & pint mixed up. As I'm more of a bourbon drinker.

        • I work in bars and it drives me nuts. You just have to learn it early so you know what tourists want when they order a beer.

      • no other states other then QLD have jugs? wierd

        • We have jugs in Vic!

    • "I'll have a middy of Export with my slice of polony thanks"

Conditions; Entire value must be used in one visit.

    1826 middys.

    That's a lot of beer.

    • +3

That's a great deal then if you are having a party, works out about .81c a beer if you take 365 middys (year's worth) all at once. Have 5 mates over, all chip in $50 each and settle in for 60 middys each.

      • It's about cost price, so they aren't losing much money. Plus as stated before, they bank on making the money up with you ordering other items when you go.

  • The "health club" business model applied to a bar? Thats funny.

  • +2

This "deal" is so bad in so many ways. Someone really should remove it.

    • +2

If I was over there I'd be happy to remove it… one day at a time!

    • please explain why you believe it is bad

      • +5

Even if you went once a week every week for 5 years you'd end up paying $3.77 per middy which isn't too bad but it's not a great price considering an awfully large burden.

As a gimmick offer to drum up publicity it's fine.

      • +3

I'll probably be negged for this, but it encourages people to drink more - bad idea IMO

        • +2

No it doesn't. It's teaching us to moderate our drinks to just one a day for the next 1825 days… + a bonus drink on Feb 29 2016!

  • Would probably be worth it if the pub was my local

Can you keep the glass ?

    • Not sure that it states anything in the deal about a glass… just the middy of beer!

  • Can they send all beer at once to our house so we can finish them in a day ?

  • Next thing you know the bar closes down…

It's also interesting to note that Australian guidelines for safe consumption of alcohol recommend no more than two standard drinks per day and at least two alcohol-free days per week…

        • The way the beer market / customer preference changes, don't be surprised if they don't have those beers for the next 5 years.

        • +1

          @Yakuza85:
Looks pretty mainstream to me. Most of these beers have been available in the majority of pubs over here (Vic) for quite some time now! Unless they want to go to all that boutiquey kinda crap!

      • -1

Hey ther Dr_rusko, the Selected Beer is just referring to Beer on Tap which is the 13 selections

South Street Ale House also offer Beer of the Months which are included in this offer

I have never had a drink in my life, so just give me the $1000 and we will call it quits…

    • Why is your name Grog then? I am Grog?

  • I think it's quite a good offer that many would take up if it was their local.
