  • Nationwide on those strawberries?

Is it in the catalogue? My local catalogue in VIC near Melb CBD didn't show this

    • My catalogue showed it.
      Eastern suburbs

    • Check the catalogue date. May be the previous one.

      • I normally grab one and flip through it while browsing in store, so I don't have any with me to check, I guess it may have been an older issue, I'll head in to my local one soon and see how it goes

  • How would the aldi table saw compare to something like
    http://www.bunnings.com.au/ozito-1500w-250mm-table-saw_p6290…

    • +2

I'm not sure but Aldi have the 60 day money back guarantee thing, which means if you're not happy with it, you could just return it and grab the Bunnings one anyway. Both have a 3 year warranty.

They probably come out of the same factory anyway :P haha

Event after i use it? O_O

        • +2

          Yep.

I returned a vacuum I used for 3 weeks. They prefer the original box and receipt, but I lost my receipt.

          Still returned with no dramas.

More detailed specs of the table saw:

      http://www.einhell.com/com_en/shop/4862/4891/4892/4893/4894/…

The ozito one seems to be the same as the bt-ts-1500-u

      http://www.einhell.com/com_en/shop/4862/4891/4892/4893/4894/…

Ozito is owned by Einhell so that may or may not be a coincidence.

So on the surface it would seem you're getting more for less

  • Thanks OP, just bought 3 punnets from the Ringwood Aldi

First time I've ever been inside an Aldi and didn't leave without buying something

  • Is the Tripod any good, price to quality ratio wise? Or.. would it be better just get those from eBay?

    aluminum is heavy?

    • Aluminium is widely used for being cheap, light, strong.

I bought an awesome one off eBay for $20 (delivered!), supposedly from South Korea. But this deal is still great & local. Easy to have a look, buy, return if needed.

    Review of the wildlife cam.
    http://www.whatdigitalcamera.com/equipment/reviews/compactca…

And here's a much shorter review of the superzoom:
    http://www.digicamreview.com/2013/11/maginon-sz-24-24x-optic…
"Buyers of the Maginon SZ 24 have complained about the short battery life – averaging around 100 shots – although the battery can easily be replaced by a higher power unit from ebay (or elsewhere).". Goes on to recommend similar Olympus models.

Video footage of an Aldi night vision unit. Same one??

Camcorder has come up before and doesn't seem that flash
    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/113595

I think I'll stick to the strawberries for this one.

camera seems to get pretty good reviews overall. BAttery life is about the only complaint.

The HD camcorder seems like the only real dud out of the lot.. seems like a peice of junk. Most phones would probably do better.

      • The wildlife cam I'd consider if I lived somewhere that I could capture something interesting, but missing shots all the time is a real pain and is a big complaint against.

I'm a complete camera freak and have a stack of older cameras. I wouldn't spend $149 on this camera when I can get a 50x zoom SX50HS for for around double. I'd rather save up for it. But then I have the older 20x SX20IS that runs on 4 AA batteries. It's only 12MP but it does the job and I'd take a guess it's better than the ALDI. As things stand I'll keep saving for an upgrade to my Nikon D90. For almost anything serious I'll use a DSLR. (Small lenses and sensors do have their uses though).

I use my Samsung phone for short video clips and if I was going to upgrade it wouldn't be to a $60 "camcorder". A bare minimum would be stabilised optical zoom.

Night vision I have no real use for. Even if I did I'd be worried about neighbours thinking I was up to no good. Technically this looks like the most solid gadget but that could be because it's the one I know least about.

          Well I'm still rocking my 350d with 17-40 L and 70-300IS

only what, 8MP (I can't even remember), but it still holds its own against all but the most expensive P/S especially with the lenses.

Something like this interests me as a p/s between my HTC One and the DSLR. I would only buy it though if it sat around and got reduced to say, $120 or so, as can happen.. then it would probably become a real bargain :)

PS: what do you think of the tripod? My tristar one is stuffed, and this one looks very similar, unlike the last one they had which was rubbish

  • night vision goggles are perfect for my new job

  • Bread maker got a few neg reviews last time.
Anyone been using one for a while know care to comment on its performance?

  • Was at Queen Vic market yesterday. Sellers were flogging 500gr of strawbs for $2.

Must be a thing at the moment.
