  • Combine with https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/160046.

Was this price on ozbargain this time last year

    • I think in store only. OP might have read the ticket in tore only. Seems to work delivered for $9.95 to 2483.

    • good tip, but will need to add smoe small item to tip it 'over' $99

      • +1

dont even need to the GIVEDAD20 voucher works for 99 spend

    • I just did a dummy cart and the voucher applies for delivery (9.95 to 4825) or click and collect (available in 4812).

      • For me the opposite. Did a dummy, can get it delivered for extra $9.95, but GIVEDAD20 code not working.

No Bluetooth. That kills it for me. If you can't connect your phone via Bluetooth, it seems a bit silly to have such a limited device.

    • I agree

I have a sony 3.1, without the Bluetooth it would have been useless, I can play music directly from my phone and my ipad, these neggers don't know what they talking about

      • +2

Do we really not have a better name for people who neg than "neggers"?

        • +3

          What's wrong with neggers?

    • There are probably people that don't have any bluetooth devices and are happy to not pay extra for that feature. For them such a limited device might be perfect on price and performance.

      • People with no blue tooth devices, not on oz bargain and not in the 21'st century !

        Come on

Worked for me :) $79 Click and collect. Thanks Gummibear

  • +1

79 worked for me as well. CnC..

    • +1

Code sort of work, but when you try to checkout and logon with your existing user account, it doesn't work, it reverted back to $99.

  • I paid $125 for this one 6 months ago. Not a good speaker but good value for $79.\

Edit: I actually bought the 2160 model, it has annoying humble noise while in idle, tried optical and 3.5mm jack

  • worked for me too - click and collect available at (nsw) castle hill, macquarie ctr, hornsby, top ryde as of 5m ago..

  • +2

    Can't complain for $79 :)

  • Good brand cheap price. Paid $110 for unknown brand

  • GIVEDAD20 code does not work for me..

  • Anyone know how this compares to the Sony 2.1 + Fifa 14?

  • Is there any soundbars with Sub under $200 that have 3 HDMI inputs and 1 output ?

  • +1

Cheers, i've just got one. For $79 that's a bargain.

    Thanks Gummibear

Does this or any soundbar have a 3.5mm audio out plug for when you want to use your headphones? I can't see it in the manual of this or any of the more expensive Philips soundbars manuals.

    • +1

      Nope, just inputs.

  • +1

I read a review that said it does not remember inputs and you have to reset it each time. That would suck.

Probably if you disconnect the power I imagine.

  • Two and a half hours after order was placed and my confirmation email I get this:

    Thank you,

This isn't even my first order, it was also a click and collect. Here is a thought, check my card in store you gumbys.

    • Order via paypal. I've jsut started doing all my credit card DS payments via paypal since they rejected an order for no reason, never had problems since.

Don't understand why sound bars are suddenly popular. Especially when you can get cheap 5.1 and 7.1 for DVD/Bluray.

    • +1

Would be hard to match at $99, but there are some crazy priced sound bars out there for $500-$1000, you could buy a good 2.0 system that would be hard to beat.

    • Small rooms, 2nd tv's etc

  • What kind of cable do I need to connect this to my TV (LG 47LM6200) ?

    Will this work ?

  • +1

    Just ordered $79 with "GIVEDAD20"

    Bargain

  • +1

Got one with voucher. Thanks :)

  • Ended up buying this one since the Sony one sold out. :(

  • +1

Thanks for this. Just ordered Click&Collect with voucher code GIVEDAD20 working fine here.

This will do just fine until I can set up a decent 5.1/7.1 system when we buy a place

  • Might get this click + collect.

What's peoples experiences of returning products if not happy with them? Their website says generally don't except change of mind refund but thought would check anyway

  • +1

    now 199??! :(

    • yep booo

      • ah yeah. 1 day only sale. just noticed this was actually posted yesterday. darn…

  • Just bought one with Click and Collect option.
Anyone knows how long does it takes DS to send an email to pick up the item?

    • +1

Got my text/email about an hour after ordering.

      • I hope it doesn't take more than an hour. After I ordered it, the price went to the normal price which is $199. So I might have been the last few customers who purchased it for $79.
I hope they don't cancel the order!

        • +1

You could always ring the store and see if they have stock and just head down and pick it up. I've done that a few times with CnC orders and the store has been fine with it.

As for the pricing, just make sure you take your receipt with you showing the $79 price.

        • @Jonesy77:
Thanks for the tip. I did ring the store but was told that they haven't received any update of the order as it might take some time to process it.

I will ring them again soon.

  • I just did a dummy cart and the voucher GIVEDAD20 only give me 20% off from the actual price.. so have to pay $179 instead of %79..zzzzz..

    • There was only 1 day deal for $99 yesterday, if you could've purchased yesterday then it would have cost you only $79 after $20 discount but today the price revert back to an original $199. So, obviously you have to pay $179…… hope this helps

      • Fine Print says:
"Offer is limited to the first 500 customers only."

I ordered it today around 9:45am AEST and got it for $79.

BTW, the fine print also says:
"Offer is not available for Click & Collect orders."

But I selected this option when I placed the order…

  • I am wondering if anyone has used a sound at for a neater computer set up? This or the sony HTCT60BT seem like good cheap options for great surround sound on the desk without clutter?

Also anyone know if jb would price match the sony it's still $149 vs $249 and I am unsure if they have fifa 14 as well?

  • Just got a text message to say mine is ready to collect in store. Picking it up on my lunch break. Thanks again for posting this deal!!

  • Just collected from DS and set up. It's true, the addition of bass and even slightly better quality sound made a big difference… but mostly the bass. Really though I think you're paying for the form factor more than anything else, because it seems like a decent 2.1 PC speaker system for around the same price would have similar if not better sound quality.

Also the remote is a bit cheap and insubstantial. Given that you'll be using it to change the volume all the time its a bit annoying if you like the heft of a good remote. Overall might JUST be worth it for $79 but certainly not its current price of $200

    • Just set mine up too and had a quick play with music through the chromecast (another ozbargain purchase!) and completely agree that the addition of bass is the biggest impact here, but sound quality over all is much improved compared to the TV. Haven't really tried TV or movies yet. The remote is pretty crappy to be honest, but will do the job.

Agree with theological. Happy with the purchase at $79, but wouldn't pay regular price. I'd stretch for something more substantial for a bit of extra cash.

As for the comparison to a decent 2.1 set of PC speakers I can't say but it's probably a fair call although I don't know of any close to $79 that have an optical input. The bass on this is certainly better quality and less boomy than the Logitech 5.1 system I have hooked up to the PC for when I'm not using headphones.

If you're looking for something that's loud (by my definition anyway) this wouldn't be for you, but it certainly has enough punch and there was no distortion at max volume setting.
