Asus DSL-AC68U Modem Router $235.40 + Pickup (Not Free) / Postage from GREENBOXiT

03

Been waiting for a deal on this so that I can upgrade to 802.11ac.
Usually around $315+.

Probably a pricing error since the RT-AC68U is more expensive at $239?

Pick up from Sydney Store $5.00
Pick up from Brisbane Store $10.00
Pick up from Adelaide Store $15.00
Postage varies

Now if only there was a deal on the PCE-AC68 as well…

Edit: Most people who own the device have rated it very positively - http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/forum-replies.cfm?t=2272447

Edit: Looks like it was a pricing error, price now fixed at $315.

      is that even legal?

Sure is but it is also a reason to blacklist the shop. Wouldn't buy there even if half price of elsewhere. Don't want such habits to become standards.

    • I'm assuming the charge is for shipping it from their warehouse to the store.
Regardless, the price is still about $70 cheaper than usual.

Never said that it is not a good price. I just don't like this tactics.

No need to neg it then, 'cause that means you don't think it's a bargain, which it is.
Is that not the point of OzBargain and not to yay or nay seller practices?

  • postage to Melbourne $21.46

    Bargain?

    • That's a RT-AC68U, router only. This is the modem router version, DSL-AC68U.

I'm sure the "pick-up" charge is because they bulk ship from their warehouses to the shop front on order only… It's pretty rough though when other business will factor this cost into the price…

  • $43 shipping to WA. Cheaper still than anywhere else, but hardly good value for money.
I'm in the market for a good modem-router, but I rather pay half for an Archer D7 this Sunday (15% off eBay).

Inflated postage, profiteering and falsely presenting postage costs. Neg'd.

Too bad you can't flash it with Tomato. DSL isn't supported as far as i know. Otherwise, flash a non-dsl ac68u with tomato and you've got yourself the best router there is.

I wouldn't neg OP, but I strongly recommend avoiding Greenboxit. I had a lot of trouble with them a few years ago. The person I dealt with made a lot of misrepresentation over the phone and by email. (Long story short, they didn't ship my items for weeks, and wouldn't return my calls/emails initially until I got my bank to do a charge back, after which they posted some* items and weren't sure when they'd get the others in stock). The "Manager" was threatening to report me for fraud (although in hindsight that was complete BS), butit was a lot of hassle to resolve it with them.
