Hi all,

Found this extremely good deal for a new flood light.
It's been proven to be extremely popular by reviewers

Note that accessing the max output of 2800lm can be tricky as you'll need to press and hold the operating button down and it'll return to the previous mode when you release it. I guess is sort of good considering reviewers say the light gets pretty hot.

I tend to find flood lights more useful than lights with heaps of throw but I'll leave it up to your personal preference.
If you want a compact thrower though, then you want to consider the Olight M22

This is perhaps one of the brightest single 18650 battery tactical light using the CREE XM-L2 LED. The Warrior series is awesome as it comes with a carrying case for all its stuff. Extremely handy if you're in a profession where you've got a lot of tools in your car. I love the design of the holster because you can access your light without taking your light out plus it's got space for two spare batteries on the side.

If you're an enthusiast like me, or starting to be addicted to high quality lights, you'll definitely want to start looking at some torches powered by 18650s instead of AA batteries.

I got in touch with Banggood and they've confirmed the Nitecore TM25 is the new 3800lm version too!

PS. I received my Nitecore EA41 today (Monday) from my post here

Thanks
PavloXYZ

  • Too big for me :( any recommendations of 2xAA OR 2xAAA that small enough to put into pants pocket? Has a hook or clip would be a bonus :)

    • 1 AA has about the capacity of 3 AAA's. So a 1 AA torch is more useful than a 2AA torch.

      So something like this should suit your needs/whet you appetite for bigger and brighter things.

      • Thanks for the suggestion. That looks right up my alley :)
        Is there a bigger version (2xAA)? I don't mind if it's a bit longer.

    • LED Lenser P5

    • Since you didn't specify a budget I'm going to be a bit cheeky…
      How about a Zebralight SC52w?
      * 280 Lm (0.9 hrs)
      * 172 Lm (1.7 hrs)
      * 108 Lm (3 hrs)
      * 50 Lm (7.5 hrs)
      * 25 Lm (12 hrs)
      * 12 Lm (27 hrs)
      * 2.7 Lm (4 days)
      * 0.34 Lm (3 weeks)
      * 0.06 Lm (2 months)
      * 0.01 Lm (3 months)
      US$64 with free shipping.
      These are very highly rated, but obviously very expensive for a 1xAA light.

      • Is there something with 2xAA and a bit more powerful? (I don't mind if it's a bit longer)

        • ZL don't make a 2AA light as far as i know. I have my eye on the Thrunite Neutron 2A-V2.
          - Turbo : 800 lumens /200 minutes
          - High: 230 lumens / 215 minutes
          - Mid: 70 lumens / 7 hrs
          - Low: 11 lumens / 7 days
          - Moonlight:0.04 lumens/68 days
          USD $55.95 with free shipping. Also can shrink to only 1AA (and sacrifices some power in the process)

          The reviews seem very positive but I don't know anyone personally who has one yet, so I thought I could try it out by giving it to my old man and see how he (read: me) likes it.

          Edit: Forgot to mention that 280 Zebralight/4sevens/Olight/Fenix lumens are probably way more than 500 cheap DX lumens.

        • have you checked out the Nitecore MH series?

          the MH stands for Multi Hybrid which means you can charge the factory included battery with a USB cable connected to your computer :) click here for more details

          I've got a Nitecore MH2A which uses a CREE XM-L U2 LED with max output of 600LM and love it coz i can just charge it up at work and use it on the way home. A sweet design if you constantly need a light and worry about running low on juice. you can also charge it in your car or with a portable power bank so if you're going camping/fishing, that also helps. you can't charge and use it simultaneously though…

          worse case scenario you can just pop 2xAA eneloops in there :)

        • @ebosh: That looks really good. I think I will grab that. or the Nitecore that PavloXYZ suggested.

  • $109.28 au
    A new version is coming out but would cost a lot more without discount
    There is a custom modified version of this light but cost minimum $155 usd
    Was considering the tn30 but that is quite a bit larger

  • Bought one because I have a lot of throw light but no good flood light yet.

  • +1

    Thanks for the pickup on the TM26 post!

    • no problems! :)
