  • They still have a handful of cases of the "mystery pinot" http://www.winemarket.com.au/MYSTERY-ADELAIDE-HILLS-PINOT-NO…

thanks mate, was just looking at buying some of this!
    http://www.winemarket.com.au/Mystery-Gold-Medal-Barossa-Shir…

except I always like to puzzle it out first, anyone got an idea?
    my initial thought was:
    http://www.dandelionvineyards.com.au/collections/barossa/pro…

but the pixelated label appears the wrong size..

    • Similar to the mystery pinot, this could be Heirloom Shiraz: http://heirloomvineyards.com.au/products/barossa-valley-shir…
The price and location matches, but the alcohol content doesn't.

      • hrmmm this line too had me thinking what i did:

"This is a deal for the Lionhearted, for the brave and bold."

    • Hi

I bought it last time, this is HEIRLOOM 2011, Great Wine

    • Ended up buying the Mystery Gold medal Barossa Shiraz
Hey a $40 bottle for $11 delivered can't go wrong!

Just got another cheapie mixed case for $3.66 per bottle delivered: http://www.winemarket.com.au/Bargain-Mixed-Dozen. Nice to keep the stock up of the school-night & cooking wine ;) It's nothing amazing but it's definitely not terrible & we've never had a bad bottle. Cheers OP!

  • Are these wines actually decent? Once bought 12 bottles of wine off catch of the day for like $50 and literally tasted like vinegar and salt.

Yep, the $3.66 cheapie stuff I refer to above is about that same quality as you'd expect when buying those $15-ish bottles from the local Bottle Shop to take to a nearby BYO restaurant. Absolutely nothing special BUT very much drinkable and soooo much cheaper than Bottle Shops.

I've had some more expensive wines from WineMarket too including some very nice Pinots and although a lot more that $3.66 per bottle they were still a fraction of the price compared to purchasing from a Bottle Shop. I recommend starting out with a cheap mixed case using this code just to give them a go. You'll hopefully be pleased you did.

      • Agree. The mystery wines are usually genuine bargains too, from the ones I have previously purchased.

CoTD will sell any old rubbish and mis-describe it. Don't they generally have a poor repuatation here, not just wine?

Winemarket is not remotely similar. They are owned by Cellarmasters, but operate differently, so don't hold that against them.

    • Pepperjack Shiraz 2012 recently won the VISY Great Australian Shiraz Challenge - for what it's worth. Not cheap but a good drop @ ~$14 a bottle ($82) delivered. Not a huge saving on Ww (Dans) for a single bottle.

I resisted the $65 mixed boxes for years, but got some recently. They were all ok and a couple were quite nice for an absurd <$4 a bottle.
I agree they are equivalent to the $12-$15 a bottle range at the local bottle-o, but usually unknown brands.
Just ordered another dozen of the cheap reds.

These Wine Market deals are too good to resist! Trying http://www.winemarket.com.au/75-Shiraz-Mix-Dozen this time. At $50 delivered = $4.17/bottle. Can't go wrong!

I'd recommend these http://www.winemarket.com.au/#Miles-From-Nowhere-Limited-Lot… 5* Halliday rated winnery, non in stock at Cracker but rated 4.5 there. Only $74 for a dozen delivered :)

  • FWIW we got one of these last time, quite compelling value (the glasses are good for reds in winter - don't look too naff and build quality is good):
