($19 for Prepaid Credit + $5 for SIM Card)

If you are travelling to the New Zealand soon, or have friends or family who are, this is the easiest way to avoid excessive International Roaming Charges whilst staying connected with your loved ones and still being able to use your phone or tablet.

All we need is your arrival date into New Zealand and your card will be activated and ready to be used upon your arrival!

1) How Do I Recharge My Card?
Top up vouchers can be purchased at thousands of convenient retail stores and service stations across New Zealand and also online at https://www.vodafone.co.nz/myvodafone/topup-or-pay

2) When Will I Get My NZ Phone Number?
Your Vodafone NZ mobile number will be provided with the SIM card. Making it easy for you to let your friends and family know before you leave for your travels. All you have to do when you land is dial 777 to activate your package.

3) Can I Switch Handsets and Still Use This Card?
Switching from one handset to another is completely fine, as long as the other handset can use the SIM card size you have ordered i.e. if you purchase a nano sim card please make sure your next handset uses nano cards as well.

4) Can the data on this card be used to set up a wifi hotspot (tethering)?
Yes you may use tethering services with the data on this card, as long as your phone has this feature

5) What happens if there is issues with my cards activation?
It is very rare for our SIMS to be activated unsuccessfully. But we have a dedicated customer service team which work around the clock and we are always happy to assist our customers with any activation issues they maybe facing. We also have a number of partnerships with Vodafone NZ affiliates within NZ, so if a particular issue arises which cannot be solved by us. Our friendly partners in NZ are more than happy to assist our customers in fixing these issues.

Enjoy Guys!

Will it work with the new iPhone Sex?

    • +1

It sure will, unless you're literally planning to do that with your iPhone, in which case there may be reception issues haha.

  • Unlimited data ? Says '500 mb' in the link, could you please clear that up rep ? Thanks

    • Sorry mate information for another sim was exported. Corrected accordingly. Thanks for the heads up!

  • What are the charges for making phone calls to other countries (asia/europe) while using this in NZ? The description only says
"Calls – 100 Minutes of calls to New Zealand and Australian Numbers" but does not indicate the charges to other countries.

    • Good question!

    • You can top up the card with credit to make international calls elsewhere. But the preloaded credit is designed for Aus and NZ being connected for trips and business.
Standard rates apply if you top up and make international calls.

  • long shot - but can this be used in NZ's little brother, the Cook Islands?

  • Can the activation take place next year, say Feb?

    • Certainly Kyle, we will send you the sim pack. And just keep it safe in your draw for feb next year.

  • All we need is your arrival date into the USA and your card will be activated and ready to be used upon your arrival!

I thought this is for NZ?

    • Thanks Blugok, It is and it has been changed to NZ. Our mistake, was thinking of our last deal…

  • Where are the rates for data top ups? We will probably order a couple, going to NZ in about 3 weeks. But need to find data rates first to compare to other options we were already looking at.

EDIT: All good, found the rates. https://www.vodafone.co.nz/prepay-boosts/

    • Sorry we didn't reply in time and you had to answer yourself but good find!

We've been in InZid for a couple of weeks and grabbed a Vodafone sim at the airport. Toy surprise Vodafone has no issues over here and have been pretty happy with the service.

I've made a few calls to Oz and use the data for bookings and reviews etc. If you need more data you need to top up. Minimum top up is $20 though.

It's a bit hot and miss for wifi in Motels over here so you do need mobile data for a back up.

I paid $5 for the sim btw so that is what you'll save with this deal.

    • Yeah when we have used Vodafone NZ we often found they are better with consistent reception than Vodafone AUS!

travelgear.com.au have some pretty cool deals on local sims you can get before you go too… they seem to have more countries covered also.

  • Exact same deal with Telecom in NZ. Just go into a shop there (every major city/area), and you can ensure that it is hooked up and ready to go in the store to avoid any dramas.

Just do a search of Spark's reception issues before you go head first into their products.
Oh and our NZ sims are tested and a Vodafone number is supplied before you even leave! Though we haven't had any, if there was any issues we would know and address it before you leave. There's also a money back guarantee it'll work :)
