who would want to give you one for free anyway?

    • +27

I wouldn't even take a USB 2.0 flash drive if it were for free.

Think it's time for you to hand in your OzBargain badge…

  • Tempting to have lying around in the car for music

Thanks, ordered 5. Always seem to never have a spare usb around when you need it, good now I have a few stocked up.

damn HN being so far away, I'm comin for ya officeworks!

    • +1

oops looks like officeworks might not sell them

very useful in developing OS bootable installers that are now larger than 4GB or have them as boot partition retriever in tablets.

    • The ones I got from HN last time won't work as USB boot disks for Windows.
Something to do with them reporting as fixed disks not removable drives makes them useless for that purpose.

      • damn I haven't tried mine yet, but that's exactly why I bought them.
wonder if its too late for a refund

      • I use these routinely to give to clients as Windows installers. They work just fine. I have three on my desk right now for assorted Microsoft Deployment Kit installs.

I have had all kinds of issues getting them to boot on computers, but it's always either a limitation of the computer itself or a failure on my part to include something on the USB. Not the physical USB itself.

        • Yeah I don't think anything to do with the drive itself.

        • Awesome, thanks for the confirmation.

Gonna label one as Windows 7 x64 and stash it away.
None of my computers have DVD drives these days.

    • So frustrating. Windows 7/8 (don't remember which one) was only a few MB over the capacity of my 4GB drive!

  • Do any other retailers sell these where i could price match?
or maybe I will just get them delivered.

  • Thank s ,really good price I ll buy one.

  • Got 5, thanks OP!

  • Picked up 5. Why not at that price?

  • smashed five of them, will replace the gaudy One Direction USB drives that I am still using at work…

    thanks OP :)

  • How's price for WD 1TB USB 3.0 Portable? Is it any good, or can be had cheap?

    • +1

$69 or below is the sweet spot. Wait for another deal if you don't need it now.

      • Cool. Don't need it straight away - will wait.

  • Store i went too had no idea of the sale and was happy to let me get as many as i wanted, but i only got 5 too. Was labelled as $7.

Anyone else get a chat pop-up that said "welcome ozbargainer, how's can I assist you?" haha

  • +1

My store had them labelled for $9.95. Picked up 3 for $3 each after they had a look online. It would be nice if head office was to communicate sales to stores.

  • Same thing happened to me, store price was $9, showed the girl my phone with the Harvey Norman website and she couldn't believe that it was listed for $3, I asked if I could buy more but she was like "sorry it says max 5"

These make great boot disks, one for ultimate boot cd, a few backup esxi and another few for xpenology

  • Thanks superforever. Got a few.

  • Nice deal, I recall paying $5 for 4GB Verbatim from HN few years back

  • Thanks, QV Melbourne, still have a stash left.

  • OK I got 8 of these things

Time for a USB stick raid5 array?

  • Ordered 5 to pickup $15 for 40GB flash disk worth with a reputable brand is not bad.

Need them for Android boxes and quick backups

  • Nice. Thanks.

Last weekend went to HN - in Springvale Home Maker Centre and wanted to buy this when the other deal was on (https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/161480). The guys at the store said no way to get it for $11 and they still scanned for $24. I told them that others are buying from Harvey Norman stores for $11. Then they checked with the store manager or some one and still said it's $24 in their store and the price is different because it's a differently franchised.

I really don't get this issue with this particular store. I had issues in the past when I selected click and collect. At least for this deal the site doesn't show up this particular store to click and collect which is good.

    • They're twisting your balls

  • Sale ends Midnight Monday confirmed via Live Chat guy

  • Perfect timing! Thank you so much. Can use up the rest of my sneaky PayPal courtesy dollars too.

  • Not available at my store (Gordon Sydney)
    Bummer.
Put my order together to qualify for the welcome discount of $5. (orders over $25)
But in the end nothing was available.

  • Picked these up today and can say I am pleasantly surprised at the speed at which they copied the stuff I threw at it….thanks OP, got 2 but thinking of getting 2 more now.
