anything worthwhile? most of the ones that am interested are $39..

Have a look around - something may take your fancy. Personally I bought the Manly Waterworks (Sydney) family day pass (4 people) for $49, down to $29 with the $20 off. Normally $100 for the family (or $30 per person). If you don't need 4 passes, I'm sure you could sell them to someone else in the line on the day (who knows - you may even make a profit). I'll need all my tickets though.

  • OP please mention only "for customers who registered before 25 Sep 2014"

tried twice of their dining deal, very small portion and not worth it, very dissapointed

    • +3

Thats up to the restaurant - have had some great experiences, and some mediocre ones

    • -1

Always, ALWAYS, check the reviews. I would say 85% is not worth it even with the discount. But if you are careful, you will pick up the 15% of nice dining experience.

  • +15

8/10 of their deals are complete rip off

especially dining deals, you WILL be treated like second class citizen and isolated from rest of the restaurant in terms of service from regular customers ordering on menu

even across different restaurants, it's like a hive mindset

    • I've surprisingly had a very good experience with a coupon for Hog's Breath. Obviously you don't go to Hog's Breath expecting much in terms of food/service but our waiter was really cool, and the food was good. This was at the Pyrmont branch.

    • This is why I prefer entertainment book. The restaurant doesn't know you've got it until the end :)

Literally bought a $49 deal last night. Ouch :(

  • whoever downvote me please recommend a dining deal thats very well worth the money u pay and good experience?

49$ meal for 2 at the Italian-pizza restaurant down imax ( sydney). Eat love pizza. ( I didn't negged you …just sharing one personal experience).

      • I went here a while ago and the service there was awesome. Could book online and enter voucher code.
Always a bit weird at the end of a meal and there is no check, made sure we left a good tip considering you get 3 courses and wine for the price of 1 pizza.
Almost the whole menu is available for offer too.

      • Eat love pizza is a great deal, $20 off makes it even better.

Went last year with this deal, excellent service and food quality.

      Recommend any?

  • Got that email. Thought it was targeted.

  • Is there any deals in Qld that people are getting that is recommended?

  • nothing worthwhile in perth, some good dining deals in melb and syd

Good deal on IMAX Melbourne tickets $12 each. So 5 tickets for $60 - $20 = $40. Pretty good isn't it?

    • +2

Think it only is applicable if an individual deal is worth $49 or above, not multiple vouchers of the 1 deal

    • it says no multiple purchases in the fine print below.. I think it means that a single deal should be worth $49 or more

  • +1

I only recently discovered there are a lot more dining offers available than are presented on the main groupon page (by going to the dining deal hub)

    • how do you mean the dining deal hub? where is that on the page?

edit: actually, just found it :p

      • Where do you find the dining deal hub?

        • Go to All Deals then click on Dining to the left of the map.

You just went full… Never go full…

    • Hmm, you tried on scoop on or group on website? This deal is for group on.

    • wow that is stupid - that is like making a scene at Myer because they didn't fix your car's tyre

  • +1

Might be worth clarifying if it's minimum $49 deal or minimum total spent. The later allow much more flexibility.

  • I just bought Chocolate Tasting 4 persons for 37$. 10$/pax not a bad deal I think

I used to work in an italian restaurant. We had a Groupon offer with glass of wine + pizza. I didn't try the pizza cos I was barman, but I remember the wine we served was, manager words, the cheapest wine we could get.

    lol

I don't get this part, the reason why owners of a restaurant will put up a deal like this is to market their restaurant and at least let customers experience their offerings and if they like it, they can consider them as return customers who will eventually spread the word to their family and friends.

However, it's the exact opposite and some of these restaurants look down upon you when you buy a dining voucher (especially the booking process)… giving you the cheapest wine, small servings of dishes…… errr…. excuse me?? you were the one who contacted the group deal websites to put your deal in….???

Saying that, I have bought group deals for restaurants where they treat you perfectly fine and I had a great experience which has led me to spread to the word to family and friends and I have visited them again paying full price.

      • +2

not always the case, some restaurants just needed quick buck to stay afloat, which only makes it worse if they mess up the deal and were bad to begin with.

and some restaurants are brand new trying to make a name, however due to them being so new, staffs are clueless and service is terrible leading to another flop deal

    • whether the deal has wine or not makes not much difference, the cheapest wines out there are cheaper than soft drinks

    $64 for 15 Bottles of Rekorderlig Cider in a Choice of Five Flavours. After $ 20 discount, it works out = ($ 44/15bottles) + 5.95 delivery = $ 3.39/bottle delivered.

Worked out to be $50 delivered, not bad for 12 bottles of decent white.

I am keen on the deal but bit hesitated coz of the 'small portion' and '2nd class citizen' comments :/

      • It's decent for 2 people @ $29. Filling enough once you've been through all the courses, enjoyed all the dishes except for the Adobe sauce on the chicken. No issues with booking in and they were happy to relocate us outside when a table became available. Friendly, attentive waiter and the service was good enough to leave a tip.

        • Thanks for the review, I took the plague. Went through cash reward as well but not sure how it calculates that 4.5%. Hope it would work out well touch wood

      • +1

We went there with a Groupon voucher and it was probably the best experience we've ever had with a voucher deal. Great food, cosy atmosphere and exceptional service. Portions not huge, but plenty of them, so there was more than enough food in the end. And coffee was pretty darn good.

    • I just recently been there with a Groupon. Service was very good and attentive, however the food wasn't that great. I felt everything was a bit bland. However, can't complain for $49! (it was $59 when I purchased the Groupon and I had $10 off voucher)

  • Does anyone know if I could get $20 off each above $49 purchase -ie multiple times, using same account?

Eg enjoy a discount when I purchase a $69 massage package and another discount again when I buy a seafood takeaway deal.
Otherwise I will need to chose very carefully to select only one.

I don't know about others but I used groupon vouchers many time before at different restaurants and the service was all great, no complaint at all :-/

    • Same here: wouldn't say all good but many of them were fantastic.

    • I would say mostly,not all!

I only got the email today, and so I don't know how I could have registered by 25 Sept. Email says nothing about registering by 25 Sept. but web site does. Has anyone received the $20 discount without pre-registering by 25 Sept?

    • +1

You registered for the Groupon site before 25 Sept…

      • I am pretty sure that I did not, but thanks for the advice. And to the goose who negged me "how about being 'constructive' instead of 'destructive' "

  • Some of the 'experiences' look to be good value.

Hubby's 40th coming up and I'm eyeing the 30min Ferrari or Lamborghini hire/drive (Mel) for $139 with the coupon.

Has anyone done anything like this before?
