I saw Ormond Rd and Croydon and got excited… then I realized it was the wrong state :(

  • Mmm, $1/L right next to where I live. This will be interesting to watch. How many hundreds of metres the queue will be.

      park your car there overnight

BAHAHAHA OTR where the ones that put the price of petrol up this week from $1.33 to $1.49 now discounting it. OTR are a joke and doing it at a time most people are at work.

I used to work for them i wont even to begin to tell you all the stores i have. Worst company to work for.

I've seen all these pages pop up on facebook to boycott otr.. Gaining a huge monopoly here..

    • +4

      you have all the stores?

    • Close to everyone put their prices up. What are you inferring about OTR? I was nearly caught out with the increase but thankfully my local Caltex /Woolies still had it at $1.36.

      • Ahh, but the trick is to put your prices up a few hours earlier than everyone else when prices are about to rise and put your prices down a few hours later than everyone else when the retail price falls. And as OTR grab a bigger and bigger share of the Adelaide market they are able to play this game very well!

And to keep on the good side of customers and avoid negative press, spread the word about a price cut 'bonanza' to media outlets a few days before you do it and, for a relatively small cost you've got great heaps of free publicity and no-one's complaining. Least of all the sole newspaper in town who's promoting it, eh News Ltd.?

        Very, very clever.

      • OTR put the prices up two days before coles, woolworths, liberty etc did trying to raise the price before everyone else.

      • Hate to tell you they think of theselves as "independants" fighting the big guys, they only licence/franchise the bp name and run independant of anything bp does. They have the power to do what they want in SA now, they are the single largest operator if service stations in any capital city in australia with over 120 in metro adelaide ( to imagine the lied to the ACCC saying they anly run 78 while buying the 16 BP operated stores while actually celebrating their 100 store opening! Let alone the ACCC believing them any idiot with the white pages could have called that BS!)

Can concur that OTR is a dodgy company to work for. In order to pay staff the least amount possible they class their stores essentially as "corner store deli's" that "happen to sell petrol" in order to pay smaller wages (up to $10 less an hour) than they have to if they actually ran service stations.

      • But they are a great south austrlian company! ;)

        • Who have gotten rich by underpaying their staff!

can i get pricematch in vic :p

  • +1

yeah from officeworks then 5% off

    • better yet, buy it online from DickSmith. Use code: Eneloope for free delivery

    • :D

  • Great marketing from this OTR mob who are doing their best to smash the few independents that are left so they can keep prices high permanently.

Good luck to the couple of hundred lucky motorists will save $30 at most after wasting an hour or so and $20 in petrol lining up to get it.

    • Rather support independents than these clowns.

You'll probably spend more on petrol waiting in the lines (probably on the main road) than you actually save.

    • …and time. And yet so many people will do it. Never ceases to amaze me.

    • +2

True ozbargainers would switch off their engines and push their car

      • That's how it's done in most parts of the world. One hand on the A pillar, other on the steering wheel, and puuuuush. Looking at the 400m line up outside my local stations it appears most people are burning fuel waiting.

  • It say's both in the article heading and article itself 6 new OTR outlets yet only 5 outlets listed?

    • +2

Main South Road, Morphett Vale has 2 sites on opposite sides of the road. Bonus traffic jam.

  • i wonder if this includes premium

    • it's says in the article it does 95Ron $1.11 & 98RON $1.17 (you must not have read the article in full)

''The outlets will also discount unleaded-95/98 to 111c-117c per litre, while LPG and diesel prices will be unchanged.''

  • The one at Pasadena is going to be a nightmare. Location wise

    • Yep, stay away. Pasadena is often busy having a small but visible parking lot for the centre behind, enter and exit from the same driveway.

It's 3:15 here, so 45 minutes to go. At Main South Road, Morphett Vale both sides of the road have car line ups around 400m long with more people joining. This is completely pointless. There is no hope for most of these people snagging the $1/L offer.

Police are in attendance on both sides of South Road. I hope OTR pays to hire police for the duration.

    • Lol
