For anyone interested, there's these tickets available at $7.10 as well.

  • +3

Great stuff, hopefully it works in Innaloo Perth

    • +4

please report back if it works, thanks!

    • Used it yesterday at Innaloo for Guardians of the Galaxy, which was a surprisingly entertaining movie!

They scanned the bar code from the phone.

      • I tried with a print out and no luck. May depend on the attendee?

    • Just tried to use it (Monday night) for gone girl at innaloo and was denied at the counter…

  • +1

We are a big family :")

  • +1

Does it work at village cinema in Vic?

    • Would also like to know this

  • You can use it on your phone, yeah?

    • +1

When booking online they can directly scan the barcode from your phone so yeah this will work

      • +4

I don't understand this comment, how can they scan the barcode from your phone if you're booking online?

        • Yeah, in fact the voucher specifically states it's not available online.

        • +2

          @gilbarc:

I've finally deciphered the comment. I think he means when you book online, you receive a barcode to present at the ticket office when you go to collect the tickets. So that means the ability to scan barcodes off your phone is present. But I think the original question is whether they will accept a scan off your phone rather than it is possible.

        • +2

@uggugg: lol yep you are right sorry I think my grammar was bad. He knew we couldn't book online but not many people know you can just let the event guys scan it directly from your phone. I hate printing vouchers..

        • +1

          @jaero115:

I hate it too, but some places just refuse to read it from the mobile. Don't understand why.

        • @Kamsi: that's weird :S the guys at innaloo recommend it. They told me they prefer it because it's easier for both parties. Must be different for all cinemas

  • Works for any movie, right guys?

    • Yeah any movie available through normal online booking

  • +2

Looks to be valid on saturday nights too…

  • +4

Movie marathon at parramatta today - $10 only… $3.33/movie… bargain

    • +1

Hi, is this after using this voucher or is it just today special?

    • +1

Not valid for movie marathons, special events or screenings.

      • +1

Was about to post this , sorry guys

  • -6

Okay, I'm having difficulty booking the movies online for $8.

I'm either being really daft but there is no option to use these vouchers for online bookings.

There is a voucher input section but the # on the coupon isn't valid as it also request a PIN.

Just read it wasn't available online (all good) :)

  • +2

    Valid until 16/11/14

Interstellar is released 6 Nov …

  • +4

Pretty dodgy that the coupon states 'Valid to November 16, 2014' yet 4 of the 10 movies advertised on the flyer come out AFTER the coupon expires!

    • +2

If these coupon/offers don't get pulled before the November 16th expiry you may be able to preorder a couple of those movies as Event usually put up tickets to order in advance.

      • Can you pre order at the kiosk? I know you can book up to 7 days in advance online but I always wondered about in person

        • +1

Yes. I have done so in the past and tell them the specific seats that I want.

  • Nice find! Thanks OP!

  • +2

Any one in SA got this to work please post back

    • yep. used it at Marion yesterday for Gone Girl with no probs :)

  • Can't seem to open this properly on my phone. Every time I click the link it just downloads a copy of this page, opening the html file dies give me a barcode or anything else to further this.

What do I need to do to access this deal my phone?

    • You probably need a PDF reader, just download a free one from Google Play store or the App store. If this still doesn't work then try a different mobile browser like Google Chrome

      • Won't open via Adobe reader, says it's not a valid pdf file…

        • Works for me I just tried again. Android with Adobe reader 11.5.0.1, try updating from play/app store or Foxit PDF Reader is a very good lightweight alternative

        • Didn't work for me the first time either, just redownload and try again.

  • -2

    Need to get this verified

  • If anyone is willing to give marion event cinemas a go I would appreciate it! Thanks!

    • +2

That is where I will be heading tomorrow to try it for current movies showing, and also preorder my tickets for Interstellar in case these coupon/offers get pulled.

      • Thanks Spizz, keep me updated!

      • Hi Spizz so you can pre-order and pay for those tickets so you can use it at a later date? I believe they would give you a receipt to let you print a proper ticket on the actual day you come in to watch it? Because how do they know what session time you want if you're pre-ordering so early in advanced.

        • +1

Session times are listed on their website in advance. Take Interstellar for instance. There are numerous session times listed for when it starts for multiple days.

I go in and say I want to buy tickets for the November 6th 7:30pm VMax session and these are the seat numbers I want (which I check are free online before I ask).

They will scan the bar code from the offer and give you your printed tickets for that day at the discounted price. You present those tickets as normal on the day and watch your movie.

    • +4

Just redeemed successfully at Marion. Only 1 voucher per transaction (he did 2 separate transactions). All good!

  • Thanks OP for the deal! Using it to enjoy The Equalizer! Boom!

    Cheers!

  • +1

Awesome! Going to Burwood tonight, will let whoever cares if it works.

  • $6.50 tickets at the local event for students.. Good for adults though. The Equaliser is a great movie and the maze runner is a good watch too! The turtles movie was very average but the animation is very polished and detailed

    • Do you have the promo code for the $6.50 tix?

  • +2

Worked at Brisbane Myer centre. They just scanned it off my phone. No problems. Thanks OP

  • this work ok at parramatta?

    thanks in advance!

    • +5

      Yep Dude. Works at parra

  • Nice find, come in handy with the school holidays! Thanks Heaps :)

  • +1

Just used this today in Casuarina (NT), thanks!

  • +1

Tried at Parramatta NSW…failed :( The guy said they have never get told about this and refused to issue the tickets.

    • +2

Have just bought 2 tickets at parra with no issues

      • Guess it must be from different person. The guy at the counter went to speak to the manager, and came back said they didn't know anything about this.

  • Was there supposed to be some kind of text in that empty rectangle box btween the Event cinema logo and "1 ticket for $8" text?

  • Cheers awesome deal even better than the $11 telstra tickets

  • +1

Parramatta Events Cinema didn't let me use it. They said it was a scam and the cashier told me all the Events cinemas were warned about this. Disappointed :(

    • +2

Not sure how they can call it a scam if they have the barcode registered in their system. Might be worth trying another cinema if there is another close by.

      • A scam would be a far call if several people have confirmed that it's working. Maybe an internal leak would have been more of an appropriate statement? Else I think that cinema or particular staff wasn't notified.

        • +1

The manager at Parramatta told us that they've rung the head office and confirmed that there is no such a promotion, so they refused to issue the tickets to us. Please don't bother trying at Parramatta, they've banned the voucher. Try other cinemas.

        • Definitely a real promotion. I got an event cinemas professionally printed one from chicks at the flicks on wednesday night. Parramatta sounds like they're bullshitting.

        • @savebueller:

My guess is that it was maybe meant for the one event cinemas but they coded it wrong and it has got out and not much they can do at this stage…

        • @treeman:

definitely getting my tickets tomorrow before it gets canned.

      • hilarious!

  • +3

Used it at George St with no problems. Used three vouchers and the guy put it into a ziplock bag so I don't know if they would accept off a phone

    • +1

Used it a few hours ago at George st. Scan off the phone. For people who are refused, I recommend insist the box office people to scan the code. It cannot be a scam if they scan and their system accepts the code.

  • +1

Used today in Newcastle. Thanks OP!

    • Glendale tickets only cost $8.50, probably just as much hassle going in to save 50c compared to ordering the ticket online (although the extra $1.10 for booking fee anyway pushes it up).
I do like my allocated seating from online booking.

  • +2

Are you kidding me?! I just paid $11 (Telstra Thanks) for Annabelle today…
still saved all my mates heaps off the regular rip-of $16.50 price at least.

  • +4

Used at Liverpool Event Cinemas. No problems. Bought 4 x $8 tickets and scanned from phone.

  • +1

Just used at Robina. $8 ticket bargain.

  • +2

The chick at Chermside gave me a funny look when i handed it over, but still accepted it. Price went up to $11 for vmax.

    • Maybe she was into you?

  • They should have just made an online code for this, such a hassle with the dissapoinment. Plus there would be a lot more sales (if that's what they were after)

  • Used without problem at Carindale

  • ^Same. Bought 2 tickets at Carindale with vouchers and no issues.

  • +1

I can confirm that you can use it at Arndale Greater Union in SA

  • Are you still able to earn points on your Cinebuzz card when using the voucher?

    • +2

      yes i got 100 points(full points)

      • Fantastic!

  • I see a rep posted the deal but I missed it could we please have their colour image attached and the information they provided.
It may make some that are a little uneasy about using the voucher feel more confident about it.

    Thanks.

  • is this for any movies or?

  • -1

I rang Event Innaloo (Perth) and the lady told me (quite forcefully) that they are not accepting these. Not sure if anyone else has tried with success?

  • Worked for me at Macquarie, NSW. Scanned off my phone, quick check with a manager and it was fine.

  • +2

All good at Marion tonight. Even got my 100 Cinebuzz points per each Account (2 of us).

  • +1

Thanks buddy, it was a treat tonight watching the Equalizer!

  • Used at Top Ryde, NSW on public holiday and no worries there. The girl behind the counter had no prior knowledge of the promo but scanned the barcode and it worked. $8 is a bargain!
