Unsure how it compares, but the Vulcan Supreme 2000 has been the go to smaller U Lock for a while now. Around $25-ish delivered.

Not necessarily. Giant put their name to cheap Chinese goods, as well as high-end Taiwan-made bikes.
Either way, you can see it is a cheap design, much easier to break than the Abus or Vulcan.
Probably easy to pick too. You can't get a decent padlock even for $10.
