Why is this getting 3 upvotes when this comment hardly has enough information for you to judge whether it was his fault or Kogan's?
I'm not backing anyone here. Just saying that there is no context here whatsoever for you to actually support either side..
Is it because the phone was rooted? Most manufacturers don't cover that (AFAIK). And boot loops can occur when you root but missed a step/did a step wrong.
Is it because the phone was water damaged? Most manufacturers don't cover that either. Not sure if water damage can even cause boot loops but just using an example.

If it wasn't water damaged or rooted then it makes me wonder on what basis they would deny your warranty claim. Because they can't just say oh we're not repairing your phone because we don't feel like it…?
Odd. I have a S3 also from Kogan. Still going fine. Odd that they wont help out.
I wouldn't jump on this right away. Iphone 7 is probably coming out next year which will make this price drop.

Would I be right in assuming this is not only a grey import but possibly not the 'standard international' revision? I traditionally like to buy whichever one is the defacto one (the 4 core, not the 8)?

The Galaxy Alpha is the closest you're getting to a 4.7" S6
If I'm upgrading from an S3 though and I'm willing to go the distance and be patient. I want a beast. I'm tired of slow phones. 3gb ram, 4 modern cores, LTE etc. Under 5"

My Samsung S3 from kogan went into a boot loop 8 months after purchasing it. They refused to repair it under warranty.
