Reddit has purchased Alien Blue and has released a new IOS app. http://www.redditblog.com/2014/10/the-alien-has-landed.html

It has the pro upgrade free for one week. Saving $2.49. Be sure to that you go into the APP and press the IAP (In-App-Purchase) of PRO valued at $0.00 to upgrade. It's not automatic.

Note for Current Alien Blue users:

This is a brand new download, so current users, be sure to get it and then transfer your settings before you remove the old app.

You can transfer many of your customized settings to the new version (including subreddit groups, filters, and Imgur uploads) if you:

Launch the older version of Alien Blue and tap “Settings” > ”Advanced Settings” > “Privacy Settings” > “Export Settings to Clipboard”

In the new Alien Blue app, tap “Settings” > “Advanced Settings” > “Privacy Settings” > “Import Settings from Clipboard”

Current Pro users, please make sure to get the new Pro upgrade now (free for one week). Unfortunately, due to the limits of the app transfer system, we have no other way to verify, credit, or transfer your old Pro account.

      On Itunes (on PC) I was able to add it to download, stop it, and then download it from my phone.

      I tried search and couldn't find it. The old version has been removed but I'm able to click the link and download from the App store.

      It is but its hard to find, probably not indexed properly yet.

      Go find the Reddit's official AMA app, then go to the developer's page, then the new Alien Blue should show up there.

      Getting the iPhone version on iPad is a bit tough though, had to buy it on PC iTunes, then download it on iPad and get the free pro upgrade. I am doing this now since they are going to merge the apps eventually, not sure how they are going to handle it, so if the iPad version goes away, and the iPhone version becomes universal, I will have the pro version already.

      BTW, I bought Alien Blue from ages ago, so I am not just being cheap.

      The iPhone version runs on iPad but it looks poor in the standard way that blown-up iPhone apps do. Its usable.

        The option for iAP should be near the top

        Pretty sure you've got the wrong app installed. Make sure the app you have installed is named "Alien Blue"

        Had the same issue till I realised I downloaded the old app.

        i am confused.
        in iTunes the correct app shows, as purchased (by reddit)
        in iphone (and ipad) another alien redit reader (by AppSeed) shows up on search (and is the one have mistakenly installed) and no trace of the alien blue from iTunes…

        what to do?

    I think the iPad version is now free (no need to upgrade), usually a paid app, whereas the iphone version you will want to upgrade to pro—it's under Settings—the blue dot on the top right.

      The intention is for the iPhone version to be converted into a universal app, presumably replacing the iPad app so I'd recommend all to grab the iPhone app and activate the pro features while continuing to use the iPad app for now.

      Ah. I was looking in the new iPad app and couldn't find a PRO link. I realised I purchased the old Alien Blue years ago. I thought it carried over somehow. This probably explains it.
