Is Fitzroy street, which is best known for its prostitutes, really an iconic location? Comparing the City2Sea to the City2Surf is pretty embarrassing for Melbourne. It's dead flat, crosses a stinking river and ends at the 'sea' which is actually a bay. Couldn't they find some way to close a lane on the Westgate and finish this at Williamstown?
You seem to know this street quite well, may i ask how? or is it just one of those iconic places in Melbourne that people tell you about..
It's not a secret willy, it's like anyone saying the same thing about Kings Cross. I'm all for runs to raise money for charity, but the City2Surf is iconic with heartbreak hill and the finish at Bondi. If you're going to use the C2S name then you need a route that lives up to it.
$65 normal price? lol. No wonder they need to discount it. $55 is still too high.
