        "& Burgers" part I'm guessing.

REMINDER: This is tomorrow :) enjoy the burgers!

  • FYI

  • Is the line ridiculous?

Im about to head down there from uni.

I'm guessing the size of the 'birthday cheeseburger' is not the usual size of their burgers

  • hawthorn, I just picked up 3 and a free cupcake! not much of a line oh and a free mini thickshake awesome

  • Just got one from hawthorn, just a takeaway burger. Kinda shit to be honest. Didn't even get offered a cupcake.

    • dammit, cupcakes the best part

      • I felt it would be the case!

        • @btowny - so the burger size is smaller?

        • +1

@Bappy: It was a average cheese burger (waasn't massive, wasn't small), but if you were to pay full price (I think $12) you would feel ripped off. Not that much different between the burger and a quarter pounder from McD's.

Just got back. Line was no bigger than usual at 12:10 when I got there (Cragieburn). Also got free cupcake and free thickshake sample.

Burger is full sized, but being the 'bare-bones' cheeseburger it is, I will admit it is not great, and not worth the $12 full price.

I am a regular there, but I've never had anything other than the ribs, which are awesome.

But still, worth the $6 spend on lunch.

    EDIT: Location

  • Thanks for posting got 3 early but honestly the burgers were nothing too great even with the price considered.

  • Just went past the Ribs & Burgers in Hawthorn (VIC) at about 12:30pm. The line was maybe about 10-15+ outside and more packed inside - full of school kids (theres a few high schools nearby), business people and probably uni students (Swinburne is nearby).

Figured I'd have to wait at least 30 mins to be served so did not bother and went to a nearby Nando's instead (which was relatively empty). Since it was lunchtime its to be expected but if your going to the Hawthorn one be prepared to wait.

  • Wasn't that packed at Star City Sydney. ;)

  • Well i was impressed. For the price you'll never get a burger this good. It was a similar size to Huxtaburger, and almost as good in taste. If I was paying $12 for that, then I'd consider it overpriced, but a great bargain at $3. One wasn't quite enough, and after the second i felt stuffed. Chips very good too! Cupcake a nice touch, didn't get a thickshake :(

I will say though that the quality of the two burgers i had varied. I guess to be expected with the quantity they are serving up today

  • Yeh i went down to the bondi store at lunch today and got 2. The burger meat was pretty much raw on the inside, so i sent it back. Good value for $3 and the cupcakes were really good. The burgers are normally much better, probably worse meat than normal and also not prepared as well. Defy wouldn't pay $12 for what i got served today but I do recommend going back and trying the normal burgers another time if you have a spare $15.

  • I also went to the Bondi store on Wed late afternoon and got 2 cheeseburgers.

They'd had a power outage due to another store in the complex triggering a smoke alarm so thought I would miss out but friendly young lady said come back in while which I did and was able to order. :)

The burger meat was very rare on the inside as they are thick so probably need a bit longer on the grill for my taste. I asked one of the Hipster owners about this and he said they normally serve them like this but could cook them any way you like. Maybe they should mention this on the menu so as you can request it upfront. Only other thing would be a bit of salad would have been nice as they only seem to have had a dill pickle and no lettuce, tomato etc.

Friendly young lady gave me a takeaway bag for my second burger and brought mini cupcakes around on tray which had a 3 iced on top as well a mini thick shakes which were both cute and very good. :)

So overall I would recommend R&B as the food was good and service was great but just remember about the rareness if you need a bit more cooking like me. B)
