Whats the Voltage on this ?

Aussie vs USA Voltage differs and you may need a step down transformer

  • does it come with international warranty?

I saw this and probably spent about an hour trying to find out if it's both 110 & 220/240v and came to the conclusion that the version amazon is selling is the 110v version.. There's a global version that allows you to select 110/220v. So in the end I decided to give it a miss..

  • i wish yamaha would open source there firmwares. i have the same network receiver and the menus and stuff are so lame. you only have to look at something like XBMC and where it started and where it is today to see that open sourcing works so well for the end user

  • Does anyone know of a cheap but decent set of speakers to go along with an amp like this? 5.1 preferred.

  • I believe the US amps usually have 110 only.

I have an Aventage and they are great receivers.

  • Does this have Dolby ATMOS ??

  • No atmos, 110v version

  • I have been looking at the Dolby Atmos as well. If any one has seen a cheap Atmos amp let us know

There wont be any 'cheap' atmos recievers, the RX-V2077 and 3077 both support Atmo's (when its offically released)

Then again ATMO's is useless to 99% of the consumer base unless your willing to do a speaker grid in the roof.

onkyo has speaker that you place on top of your speakers that are suppose to give you the extra roof speakers sound

Only issue is those speakers whilst they emulate atmos by reflecting off the roof, they arent atmos standard (since ATMOs has a pretty specific instruction on speaker placement both floor and on roof)

      • … unless your willing to do a speaker grid in the roof.

there will be (add-on) options to set up speakers aimed at ceiling that will reflect sound back down. The fidelity of these would be dependent on ceiling construction and seating positioning, hence, YMMV.

… ATMOS is useless to 99% of the consumer base …

so true, just another (money-earning) fad, like 3D TVs. Luckily for the industry, some will buy into it, hence justifying development and marketing.

      • 4 extra speakers? Here I am still running a phantom centre
